Could have been Schedule D, regardless the pic I found is real crappy, found here at the bottom of the page, not entirely convincing. Also it says his foundation owned these holdings in the caption, but further up says he owned them.

On further investigation he has said before that his foundation invests money and gives it to the needy, in his own words from an interview with Ron Sheldon:
"It's really more from me, keeping with the spirit of Roger & Me. And what's incredible is the irony of this whole system. I basically get this money from Time-Warner and then recycle it into anti-corporate areas."

heh

does page 17 look familiar?

he never owned that stock. the non-profit charity corporation he set up and presides for free did. no small difference. while you're at it check the date it was sold.

looks like a fairly blue chip portfolio to me

You went and spoiled my surprise for Colpy but I can still hear that fabric stretching from here. :laughing7:

Ha, yah that looks pretty familiar. The sig is different though.

Can personal income tax records be viewed like that lawfully, or only for foundations and charities?

So there you have it, Colpy. There's the people you trust.

Next time you talk to them tell them that considering the level of respect they give the truth its only proper they give Jesus back. For the sake of the faith, of course.

Once again ,excuse my ignorance. What does this page 17 mean? It looks to me like someone gave 12 thousand to a charity. The fat bas###d made millions off of his movies that took the "high" moral ground. Moore giving 12 thou to a charity is akin to me throwing an empty at a wino and boasting that I helped the guy. Where is the next buffet?

Does the president of a corporation own the assets of that corporation?

No.

???????????????

Moore is also a long serving member of the NRA.

If he isn't making money from Haliburton stock he could have bought it to get into stockholder meetings. And If he is, who cares.

I think calling Moore a "serving" member of the NRA is pushing it.....a lot. :)

If it could be demonstrated that Moore got just enough shares in Haliburton to get into shareholders' meetings....Okay, looks good on him......but I REALLY doubt it.

One step at a time, if you'd be so kind. First I want to see how far Colpy is willing to stretch the fabric of society to cover Dobson's ass.

Forgive me, I am reading and replying to these as they come up.

Did I miss something?

Spell it out, if you would, please.

He may not have owned stock when he made the statement. Now he is a rich movie maker he may. Just goes to show the negative impact of too much money on anyones morals and ethics. Money is the root of all evil. That and lust and envy.

Actually, the correct quote is "the LOVE of money is the root of all evil". A small difference, but a significant one.

I'm with you Wally. I have no idea what this crap means.

Was this presented by Schneeberger as proof of his claims?

Does Moore own this foundation?

Does he control its assets?

What does it all mean?

very interesting questions...

...

Does he control its assets?

...

Yes, its what was presented.

Foundations are legal personalities that hold their own assets but have no shareholders. Nobody owns a private operating foundation.

Moore ran the one he created, typically enough, having granted himself the authority as President of the organization to do so when he set it up, but he didn't own it.

Page 17 details stock transactions and declares the summary value of the outcome. They lost 12 grand in the market which, considering the times, is not surprising (Bank One sure took a dive). Assets are declared summarily on page 7 and that year totalled over $600K at the time of filing.

I don't hate Moore....I think he is one incredibly sad man....

You can only play at God a few years and unless you deliver the goods..... well we know how people turn away from fakirs...

Celebrities have been conning their public for too long - way before Michael got into his act.... he's playing to a doubting audience.

I should be more specific. Although he offers no other evidence in the book than reference to the non-profit's IRS filings, complete with a cropped composite snapshot on the back cover, Schweizer is quite meticulous in the way he ties Moore to the foundation. I found that nowhere does he say outright that Moore owned the stock. I could have missed it, though.

Important to our discussion is that Schneeberger says Schweizer's research revealled ...

Michael Moore, who has proudly proclaimed he doesn't own any stock because of the damage corporations do to America, in fact has owned quite a bit — including shares in Halliburton, the oil giant he paints as the incarnation of evil in "Fahrenheit 911."

... which (from what I can tell) differs significantly from what Schweizer says in the book, is wrong, and has been published with Focus on the Family's approval.

Praise the Lord

The lefty, liar SOB I most love to hate now exposed in his hypocracy!
...

If the article's failing to prove Moore a liar has become too touchy of an issue to comment on any more maybe you'd care to move on and explain to me how the evidence exposes his alleged hypocracy.

yes?

I'm at all surprised at the rather lack luster attack of this obvious hypocritical and rather misrepresenting act of a leftist loon, by some that would make mountains out of conservative mole hills.

I can't get the link to work, but the first thing that popped into my head is the environmental lobbies that will buy large numbers of shares in companies whose policies they want to see change. Stand outside with pickets all you want, you will NOT change the minds inside the building. Stand inside the building at a share holders meeting, and the situation changes drastically.

Like I said, I can't get the link to work, so, this may be the case, may not, but I figured it was worth putting out there regardless.
