There won't be much happening along the lines of civil war in the U.S. because as long as there's "get-out-of-jail-free" cards given to the businesses responsible for giving jobs to wetbacks....the "myth" of global warming is addressed by invading whomever has petroleum resources....the caliber of politicians remains the same....Mr. & Mrs. Pollyanna America believe everything is just fine....what they're told by their mafia government....everyone's too busy watching American Idol and Homer Simpson to be concerned. With the continuing decline in levels of education throughout the U.S. there'll be lots of eager young men joining the military to further convince Americans that they're not responsible for anything...by prosecuting regime-change...invaision and covert prisons all over the globe...etc. etc.

Remember, Americans don't care just ask some of the folk who participate here at CC....

Well then that leaves us with prayer and hope and the all powerful "positive thinking" dosn't it Mickydb. You've examined the issues in detail for a lot longer than I have, you know that internal revolution of the type I speak is the best fix barring democratic change which has zero chance for exactly the same reasons as you cited. So knowing the futility of hope for the one scenario unfolding, what am I to do, I cannot drink it away, I cannot ignor it because it impacts me and everyother human negativly everyday. The solution is obvious, the most efficient solution is domestic, the seeds are there and germination has already begun. Even the ruling elite see that and have taken the standard defensive measures. I would hazard to suggest that a hungry man will do what he has always done. They're not all stupid bloated couch potatoes Mickydb.

No No No Eagle...

Whomever your next president will be is entirely beside the point. People with dollar signs in their eyes have been in control of your nation for years now, this "election" is only the requisite "pomp and ceremony" necessary to convince the "people" that "freedom" and "democracy" are alive and well in America.... Remember when necessary your judiciary will decide who sits in the offal office and who doesn't...

Maybe some other nation will recognize the danger America poses to the rest of the world if allowed to continue on in a pattern similar to how it's been going ....like the action necessitated at Hiroshima and Nagasaki....perhaps that solution will be applied to America... Smile you dealt the pack now play the game!

You want another nation to nuke us?

Hey we can play that game. Maybe you would want to sit across from us and try a hand? Or would you rather someone else fight your battle? Smiling right back.

I'm willing to let the cards fall where they may Eagle...let's examine the consituent elements...

America has no qualms about kidnapping and tortuing anyone it pleases.... It has no hesitation in dismissing the Geneva Conventions and investing in illegal wars predicated on lies and exaggeration.... The "Emperor" to the American mind is "prosperity", which to the American mind means doing whatever is necessary to whomever to maintain its lengthy history of conspicuous consumption. America has demonstrated for decades that it's willing to invest in military arms and practice destruction on whomever it decides has something it wants....even if the people of America suffer..... the similarities between Japan and America are astounding. If it was "reasonable" to consider stopping the Japanese by exterminating their civilians then what's the big deal with turning the same rationale around to prevent America from continuing its planet-wide destruction?

Not suggesting that I'd push the button but for anyone who has any sense of this similar rationale put into play to "end the Second World War" by defeating a people blinded to what justice and responsibility mean while behaving like any neighborhood bully in L.A. or any American city....you'd have to agree that this same rationale applied to America would be just as "reasonable" as it's use as an alternative when it came to preventing the deaths of millions of "good people" when America used it on the Japanese.

As the major polluter and the merchant of death to anyone and everyone around the world, where is the line that determines when "self-preservation" for the rest of the planet is achieveable using this similar rationale....?

Terrorism.....shucks......

This is sooo accurate! Many people in the US have no idea that their government(s) are not in control...the WHO, UN, NATO and the likes have more control...but still they do not top the bankers!

No they're not all as dumb as silt, but the majority has allowed their corrupt mafia government to usurp everything and anything that was ever once worthwhile about America. American's decided that Beve not you and I. As long as there's money involved in conditioning youngsters to violence...(see school shootings), as long as stadiums are filled with morons watching drug enhanced "athletes" and paying the man to buy into the accepted hypocrisy...as long as they're buying the goods produced in sweatshops where slave-wages are the "profit-margin", so long as they're prepared to blame everyone else for their problems while denying their own culpability...."change" doesn't stand a chance.

Again I agree with you Mikey...I just had a conversation about this exact subject with friends when they asked why I don't watch or like professional sports...it is one of the roots of evil in our society! I wonder if the hockey players ever think about the sweat shop slave who made their damn skates? I'll spend my spare time hiking, hot tubbing, (made in Canada tub), and training dogs before I ever pay to see a sport.

Mickydb watch the economy, todays economic news was dismal. There is not much that can be done to prevent recession actually depression, that is why the police state mechanisms have been installed, they will stuff the prisons and the camps. The revolution will begin and the ruling class will begin it. They will soon be unable to purchase the products of the labour of slaves, tens of thousands will be added to the dole every week. I don't think I underestimate the stupidity of the bankers. After all they thought they would have a cake walk in Iraq. They thought they could manage armaggedon. They have lost thier grip and all arround them they see big pieces slipping away. All of the bad habits of Americans can only fuel the chaos.

Hey Beve what can we do?

Try to convince anyone Canadian or American that their habits and perspectives are the problem and you'll only get scorn criticism and disbelief. Try putting up a clothesline in your burb and see how long it takes for the economic gestapo who runs our cities will take to fine you for not using your dryer.... Try not cutting your grass and see how long it takes for your municipal government to bill you for cutting it with pollution spewing juggernauts...because "property-values" are more important than air....

The day of great prosperity and happiness for all is a lie and it's always been a lie. A lie that compels nations (corporations) to dismantle the nuclear family that used to be able to take care of its members.... A lie that promises luxury and recreational ease if only you'll purchase every goo-gah that the modern purveyors of morality present on the TV screen, the new standard of morality and conditioining that's been suffused into the "family formula" since "Leave it to Beaver" (probably before your time Beve..) and all the assorted conditioning elements presented as the American Dream....

We're toast buddy.

I have spent thirty-five years thinking like I do Mickydb, Leave it to Beaver was in rerun when I was a kid in the sixtys, I know you're a hundred and seven but I ain't no spring chicken. I have worked trying to convince my peers just exactly as you say, and I paid for it, hard. I can't give up what else would be left to do, moulder in some rathole till I'm dead, I'm not terminating that way, never under no condition will I shut my mouth or change my mind or accept that the machine cannot be destroyed.

OK Beve I wasn't intending any insult, but after thirty five years ..or after fifty for some of us...what difference has it made?

The poor have always paid and it's the "survival of the fittest". The poor who have no wads of cash to withold or money to spend taking anyone to court have ALWAYS been left with the sword or the gun as their only option. Do you honestly think for a moment that Thomaska or Eaglesmack or anyone immersed in the fantasy of "prosperity" cares what you or I think? Do you imagine for a moment that the life of their children is of any importance to them today? People just don't care Beve. They don't care til the bridge collapses because their governments have screwed around with invading someone else...they don't care until they feel the pinch...always been that way.

Even though there is and has been dissapointment in government, and even though many who were thought to be the 'right' one 'this' time, turned out to be no different than the
'others', it is human nature to keep on 'tryin' to get it right.

There is a 'chance' every four years to 'get it right', so they keep on trying, and at least
that process is allowed. I do see a difference this time round, as the situation in the U.S.
has sunk to low, the masses are taking notice, (at last). That is where the real problem is,
the voting public pays no attention, is lazy, wants to have everything, pays no attention to what is actually going on till it's too late.
It's never too late, (at least until we are all gone), to take notice and make a change.

When we 'just' criticize and keep criticizing and see nothing but failure, despair, and become so sour that we become blind and just give up, that is exactly what the cheaters
thrive on, as they become stronger and do their dirty deeds much easier.

Sure JFK was assassinated, and it was horrible, I followed every minute of that era of
u.s. politics. Others have to stand up and carry the torch, as there will always be bad
people, always has, since the beginning of the human race. We can't dwell on the bad,
but never forget, and make it better.

Bush got in last time because the public got sucked in by the process of campaigning,
especially by Carl Rove, who rallied those religious groups and got the numbers they needed.
The public have to 'pay attention', as that is where the problem starts, all the time.

It is still a process where the public can have 'some' control, contrary to many other
countries who are helpless and have no 'vote' at all.
PAY ATTENTION, all the time.

I cannot afford to not to care Micky I have kids and soon grandkids, they matter, if I were alone I could sit in my shack and watch it unfold, but I don't have that option. My children are informed they don't buy the bs any more than I door you do, my grandchildren will be informed and I ain't going to change. There was no insult taken not even the slightest. Survival of the fittest does not mean that some big hairy goon with a sword will prevail it has always meant that those who think and work collectively in harmony are the fittest. That's were power lies and all the guns and swords cannot change that. Thinkers win not cannon fodder. They will feel the pinch soon enough and when they do then the mob will rule will begin if they fail to organize but only destroy thier own nest well too phuckin bad. I'v seen and heard all the crap from them that I need to. It's them or me and that's from the lips of the swollen little stooge toad GWB himself, you heard it I heard it everybody heard it, if they don't understand what it meant tough.

Tallola, the point is that the president of the United States of America does not work for the electorate, JFK was asasinated by the ruling elite of the America, there is no fix through the political system all the candidates are bought before they offer themselves for office or you never see them. Bush or Gore it would have made no difference not one mm of difference the president does not rule he does not formulate policy he does not owe anything to the people, it's the bankers Tallola and the rich who own virtually everything in the nation, they decide who live eats and dies, that is the reality of the day, it has been for longer than you have lived, there will never be peace or democracy as long as they remain in power. I have not given up, I will never give up. The process of the vote for president of the USA is a fraud and a crime, open your eyes. You cannot make a silk purse out of a sows ear.

OMG

To a LOT of the people on this thread, the "truth" is OUT THERE!

Common, guys, drift back to reality.........

I actually really like some of the guys posting here, but WOW, this some of this **** is out to lunch.....

One of the worst things to happen to western culture and society was the idea that it is cool to be a paranoid conspiracy theorist.

C'mon Colpy. It is what gets them through the day. Why spoil their fun? Words like Empire, and Evil is what drives them.

Now with the Iowa Caucus over and their paranoia and boasts about how Bush is going to make himself King for Life by removing all of our rights is sort of fading. That was yesterday's conspiracy. That was yesterday's truth. Maybe the next President will not be so bad and that will not be as fun now will it? What candidate can possibly top GWB!

Eeee gads...what if a Dem gets in! What will they ever do?!!!

So basically they are setting themselves for the conspiracy that can NEVER die. The power elites pulling the strings...big money...big oil. IBM, DOW, the Rothchilds, Bankers, Jews... folks and corporations like that. Politicians powerless to do anything. Now that conspiracy has legs.

The USA is getting a new President. Dang... well that stinks eh? What will we do here on CanCon now?
