Downtown already stunk to high heaven even before legalization. I hope the city cracks down hard as hell on second-hand smoke and even third hand.Smoke in the privacy of your home and change into clean clothes before you leave the house. I hope condi boards and other property management businesses just ban recreational smoking outright. You want ti consume it? Then eat it and leave the rest of us alone.
Be sure to stand downwind, that way it will go away faster, . . . and breath deeply and slowly, very slowly.

the legalization of pot has been completely ruined by the same folks who brought you war and income tax.

I will never buy "legal" pot.

Does that mean rec pot will have more thc than medical pot.

I don't know: I don't use medical pot either. I was just saying that I will never buy recreational or illegal pot but would be open to prescription pot if my physician suggested that it could help a condition that I might have.

Trudeau will have his hands full with the first traffic fatalities caused by smoking weed while driving.

Many countries are watching this new phase of CDN living. Suspect there will be some hic cups along the way ......particularity at first....as they work through predictable and unexpected issues on this new national endeavour.

Will be interesting to see how alcohol influenced accidents compare to pot related vehicular accidents.

It's the arrested Canadian tourists overseas that'll keep the Feds hopping. Wait 'til some dufus flies into Jeddah with a few joints in his luggage, ending up executed by de-capitation with a broad sword.

well, if folks are stupid or careless enough to do that.........then so be it.Pot is a choice. Stupidity is not a legal defence.

There is now a receptacle for the disposal of your bud at an airport somewhere in Canada - CTV showed a vid of it tonight but I missed the name of the airport. My first thought was - as if, before I burst out laughing.

Might be Kamloops........as that is where the only brick and mortar dispensing service will be in BC for a while. Alberta is the only one that has several . One province ( forget which one) is e-pot only. Plenty of jobs in the delivery service..;-)

Are you really silly enough to believe that people will 'flock' to Canada just to partake? I can't imagine anyone shelling out for a flights, hotel accommodations and meals just so they can vape weed or munch on some brownies.

This stuff becomes legal tomorrow (I think) on 10/17,18. Whoop-de-Doooo.......so what? Those that don't bother with it (I'm assuming) aren't going to rush out and start smoking that shit because now the Canadian Gov't wants become the biggest drug dealer in North America; and those that do smoke that stenchy stuff will get it from wherever they've been getting it forever up until tomorrow unless there's an incentive (financial, security, whatever...) to buy it from the Gov't. I don't think it's going to make a whole lot of difference as the Gov't will get greedier and eventually price themselves out of the market (Municipal, Provincial, & Federal taxes if not initially in place will come and expand...and others with their hand out who want their money for nothing and their chicks for free like health regions and Indigenous groups) leaving a vacuum for an expanded Black Market that will become socially acceptable due to the Gov't's own marketing program.

Canada is bordered on the south by the US,
that already has legal dope in nine states, and
is bordered on all other sides by the Atlantic and
Pacific and Arctic Oceans. Where are these people
going to flock to Canada from to smoke this stuff?

From Mexico where the climate in many places
makes Marijuana an invasive ditch weed? From
Europe when they can just go to the Netherlands?
From Asia When this stuff can grow wild like crazy
in wet tropical climates?

Mowich, I'm totally with you on this one.....
