Personally, the fact that anyone would be chuckling in a thread about a man being stabbed to death and having his head severed in front of onlookers, well, kind of sets my teeth on edge.

Don't want to sound like a bitch about it but **** guys, let the reality of what this would have been like for everyone on that bus, and for the family of the victim set in for even half a second, and you might see that cracking jokes is a bit out of place.

Maybe that's just me.

Nonsense! I had never heard the term Roid Rage and thought it was a typo and brought it to Praxius's attention. Nobody....I repeat....Nobody is making light of what happened on that damn bus. Lighten up for God's sake!

At least he didn't use a GUN...THAT would have been worse! ;-)

I forgot to mention.... Heads Up!

I guess this guy falls under the

"Not so" Polite Canadian.

juan, I'm not even gonna keep digging for obvious attempts at humor. Don't try to tell me to lighten up in this thread. I'm a pretty light and bubbly person. I get to have a horror set me back. I'm not about to lighten up about this attack. No one should have to lighten up about this one. No. *plants foot firmly on ground*

I hope the cops didn't Taser him.All they need now is another of those 'incidents" & the bleedingheart idiots would have a cow. This also won't help to increase bus ridership any time soon either.

............What was needed was a cop who yells "drop the knife".............and shoots the bastard at the same time. I would swear in court the perp made a lunge at the officer.

.............This so horribly sad, I thought perhaps a reporter was bent on losing his/her job and having some fun at the expense of the decapitation prone Islamic extremists..........no such luck:angry3:

.............Condolences to the family of the unfortunate victim.

I think it was the bus fumes. If anyone here has ever been in a grey hound bus they'll know what I mean. They are seriously toxic and could set anyone off.

A horror like this often brings out a bit of dark humour. I think it is kind of a defense mechanism and I'm sure nobody here meant any disrespect to the victim or his family regardless of your rather quick accusations

Guess he had enough of the guys crappy music. Who knows what will set someone off.

I heard a little bit of this when waking up to the radio. Should be interesting to see what he has to say about his actions.

Maybe he lost his head? Well, the other guy did anyway

what 'accusation' exactly? I never called out any single person, I simply said that it set my teeth on edge, and that if you let it sink in like I did, you'd probably see why it seemed so out of place.

I get the dark humor bit juan. I've been there. It's an awesome defense mechanism. But don't expect everyone to like it when it's something that's hit a soft spot in them.

Perhaps.... but if you can't joke about everything, you can't joke about anything. This sort of stuff happens everyday around the world to people much less fortunate then us, and is never reported in the main stream. I've seen someone being beheaded with a knife (not a sword or guilotine) and I know what happens to someone when that is done to them... it's not a pretty sight.... nor pleasent.

I understand what you are saying when you speak about putting ourselves in their shoes, and when I read these sorts of things, or I see these sorts of things, I do put myself in the shoes of the person describing the situation so I can better relate.

.... but that doesn't mean it has to ruin my day.

*raises hand*

Um... I did.

"I forgot to mention.... Heads Up!"

I accept my responsibility in the matter.

No... but it also has meant that you didn't take the time to chastise or mock me for saying that it set me on edge to hear joking about it. Unlike others. And that's big of you Prax. I appreciate that. I'll be leaving now. Enjoy.

one more little point before I go....

I live in the West. I live here. I live where this man got on the bus, and I have family all across the country, right up to where this bus was going. Lots of family (damn french breeders). Never before, with any of these other incidences, have I been sitting at home waiting to hear who I knew on that bus, or if the men involved are linked to me in some way. It's a damn sickening feeling beyond just empathizing with those on board.

Agreed.... just because I might throw a bit of humor into the mix, doesn't mean I hope this happens to other people.

Oh common, you better toughen up a little darling; things are about to get a lot worse.
