Fisherman Saved from Shark attack in Australia | International Business Times - UK | Video News

A fisherman in western Australia, almost became the prey to local sharks, after his boat sank in deep water just off Jurien Bay. He had been on a fishing trip with a couple of friends, when they ran into trouble. This footage from local TV Company Channel 7, shows the moment he was discovered at sea, exhausted but with just enough energy to wave for help and and look carefully at those sharks circling around him, there must be nearly 20.
What a lucky guy.
The man had been treading water for 20 hours and was exhausted by the time the rescue happened. He was taken to the Royal Perth hospital suffering from exposure. According to Channel 7 he was with two other men. One was later found and did not survive, the other is still missing.

Lucky guy indeed. Australian sharks are small compared to the monsters that cruise the California coast. But the big ones around here are probably less likely to attack a person.

With a number of shark attacks in certain areas word is that some Capts. of charters are providing food to attract them. Excites the tourists- FFn dumb - That is the conclusion that a number of experts are arriving at for attacks in certain areas.

In Australia they are dealing with a change in pattern of toxic jellyfish- 1 sting can kill you. As we decimate the oceans natural predators are removed changing the balance.

I agree. In Northern California a charter captain tried to start a shark tourist/chumming business. The surfers rode the guy out of town on a rail. It's stupid to get the sharks to associate humans with food.

It's very dangerous. I saw a show about this string of attacks from what was believed to be one shark in one tourist spot. People were getting their hands bitten off and a few got chunks taken out of their backside. Investigation led them to an illegal tourist "feed the sharks" operation, that had since stopped operating, where the lead diver/tour guide was hand feeding sharks from food kept in a fanny pack. That's all this shark was looking for but a lot of people got hurt.

I read something about that. Pretty clueless.

How will the endangered shark populations recover if their food is snatched from their jaws just because?

The coastal waters of California are like the African savanna in terms of available food for big sharks.

Actually garlic on garlic is pretty good. lol
If it tastes bad, use garlic and stick it in a smoker. Or cook it Greek style, wifey frequently says (load it with spices n herbs).

We were at a friends for dinner- appetizer was baked garlic- then you would peel and smear them on some fine breads with melted cheeses washed down with cold white wine.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm good.

Oh, definitely. Garlic is a big thing around here. We usually have 3 or 4 different varieties from mild to hot, and we do a variety of things with them from pickling and cooking with them to eating them raw.

Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention that a lot of the time, people are just stupid when they are around other species.
For instance, at the Balfour ferry terminal this year, I spotted a crowd of tourists and other dummies following a bear cub around while it either looked for food or its mother. I called a Balfour resident I know who is also a conservation officer and he scooted down the hill and told the crowd to scatter before the mother showed up and flew into a rage.
You wanna swim with sharks, be prepared to get bit. You work around sharks and fall in, be prepared to get bit.
That been said, there are relatively few sharks who are interested in eating humans.

Watched this the other night- scuba diver - spear fishing-with a video camera- a real Dumb Fuk- got his bag full of fish and this shark is hanging around- Circling - he would not give the shark the fish - all the way back the shark was hunting him- Did I say a Really Dumb Fuker - Closer to shore the waters get murky- and he was worried about the shark as he could not see it- Did I say this Dumb Fuker should not Breed- well he makes it back to shore.

All this guy wanted was the vid of his encounter - A Real Dumb Fuk and should be castrated so as not to breed more Dumb Fuks.
