Filthy criminal. ;-)

Gary Harrington, the Oregon man convicted of collecting rainwater and snow runoff on his rural property surrendered Wednesday morning to begin serving his 30-day, jail sentence in Medford, Ore. “I’m sacrificing my liberty so we can stand up as a country and stand for our liberty,” Harrington told a small crowd of people gathered outside of the Jackson County (Ore.) Jail.

Several people held signs that showed support for Harrington as he was taken inside the jail.

Harrington was found guilty two weeks ago of breaking a 1925 law for having, what state water managers called “three illegal reservoirs” on his property. He was convicted of nine misdemeanors, sentenced to 30 days in jail and fined over $1500 for collecting rainwater and snow runoff on his property.

A 1925 law? I can be fined heavily for collecting rainwater because of more recent by-laws.

Thanks to citiot infestations.

Good God I can't imagine what they would do to us on the farm we use rainwater
as well. This is the type of thing that makes people hate government in general.
I could see such a law if you were stealing the neighbours rain barrel but it nuts.

hhmm I wonder if everyone in Eagle Point, Jackson County is licensed to be made of 60 to 65% water.

lol Yeah, but are you legit in Eagle Point, OR?
I know CA MT and CO accept the MMAD for purchasing out of dispensaries, not sure about OR.

Glad I don't live in Or we have been collecting rainwater for years, we use it to water of flowers and veggies.

However if we look at our laws back far enough there are some really stupid laws both in the US and Canada.

Backwater, Ontario.
:-( Since it's been declared a drought in e. Ont., we put out rain barrels under every down spout round the ranch.

They were all empty till a few days ago.

Got rain yesterday.

Today too

all barrels is full

and the canoe, upright on the trailer is full as well. Got siphon hoses from it to 4 x 5 gal pails. for toilet flushing if we need it.

We have 5x 5 gal pails from camping excursions, and they are full from our hose...................stored in the back porch.

Wallymart had 24 bottles of ultra ass water from supreme do da springs. for 1.97. Bought 5 cases. On back porch as well.

Got the rain barrels on dollies and they're moving tomorrow to make room for more empty barrels .

Water is only not important if you have lots.

Looks like the drought might be coming to an end but ya never know

Our well (touch wood) is still ok.

"Premier" Dalton McGuinty put out feelers about taking over people's wells a couple of years ago., and charging a "fee", not a "tax" for the water. Wonder how he feels about it now.

Don't hear anyone volunteering to pay for us drilling another if ours goes dry.

Politicians all must go to the school of suck suck lie lie fukk fukk 101. bastards all.
