So basically more people are now homeless rather than just unemployed. (not counting them is how the unemployment rate came down there is nothing on this site that indicates any comeback in manufacturing has happened. First of all you need some consumers. After WWII Alberta was facing a depressed economy, the Social Credit party ran on a platform that they would eliminate all persona debt.
They won and they did, at least on paper. That debt was rolled up into one bundle that the Alberta Government was to pay off through income from oil revenues. (at a huge discount for the oil-companies as well) It was paid off and the account should have been closed but it was such a winner the next govt kept it for spending. It became known as the Heritage Trust Fund. It built a lot of private golf courses if you want to know what it was spent on, rather than a cheque to the residents for whatever recreation they desired.

On the matter of unemployment: Are we talking about the lowest number of people without a job, or the lowest number of people not being used?

In the matter of The Crown vs. Several Unemployed People, the judge ruled that there was no such thing as unemployment and dismissed the case. He said, in part, that just because you may not be working for monetary compensation does not mean that you are unemployed. The lawyer representing the "Unemployed People" was admonished and told to buy a dictionary.

Plenty good. Now you can explain your great faith in an obvious bit of fake news. And it is assuredly fake unless of course the uemployed have been dying in record numbers, which I would not discount as a valid explanation. In such case where are the bodies to be found, if they are to be found. Extermination of the unemployed would of course be a very cost effective correction. Perhaps Trump is a genius afterall.

I wonder at those who are amused at the plight of the poor, the elderly and infirm. Republicans and their devout followers are psychotic at best. Smack, on the other hand, has been sampling the CIA's coke brought in by the US military. It is the only explanation that makes sense of his glee at the expense of those who will be cut off health care by these psychopaths.
