The Clintons knew long ago their coupling was one of convenient goals rather than those of a regular loving marriage. I believe Hillary had pinpointed all of Bill's weaknesses and saw the potential for a partnership in which she could manipulate either through her different upbringing through her father's influence and her desire for his admiration, or guilt on his part, or both.

They both were obsessed with future power and how to get it. First had to come the money at which they both blundered during their first years, then came the powerful friendships to be made, then came their own power it bits and pieces, until the ultimate for Bill....and now she wants some payback for being the Lieutenant in the public eye, the abused wife..the harridan ... she wants to be the General.

Hillary has always worn the pants in the duo - Bill never kept his on long enough.
