The issue is NOT his guilt or innocence. (not guilty ). He was convicted in a court of law. The issue is the "penalty" . It is too much like an eye for an eye etc etc. ( a life for a life). What exactly does that achieve?? Make room for the next criminal on death row?? Save the taxpayers money?? Revenge??? Will it deter such behavior in the present and future?? Of course not. Anyone prone to kill , will do so. (and then hope he /she has Casey Anthony's lawyer to defend them)

being a social outcast is far worse than death. Just think. He no longer has to put up with prison life. and abuses. He no longer has to deal with being reminded of his crime , and how it affected his family. IF he felt remorse / guilt ...... that too is gone....as he is dead and gone. (and has nothing to fear anymore) In a bizarre way.........death frees such a person from himself.

The US society has a very high Kill instinct. Be it for war, revenge, or whatever motive. It has come to define the "american" society.

but as they all seem to like it this way........not much anyone can do........except stay away from that country .

In prison he would be a hero. For the rest of his natural life. Get to bum the fish, and twenty or so years down the line, find Christ as his personal saviour, and apply for a pardon, maybe become a pastor, or a university grad, at public expense.

Yep, sh*t happens, so we know he wasn't guilty of that particular crime but perhaps he killed half a dozen other guys he never got charged with. Things have a habit of balancing out. It does get tough however when you happen to be the victim. (Has anyone determined Barry Schreck's reliability?)

At least they are not saddled with supporting the likes of Olson, Bernardo and Picton for 30-50 years at taxpayers expense. Sort of like "spring house cleaning" :lol:

Read some stats somewhere that said it costs more to execute someone than it does to warehouse them for 30-50. With all the appeals, it makes sense.

Besides when they have nothing to think about besides where they are, and maybe being a soulless bastard had something to do with that, I agree wholeheartedly with warehousing them. Has nothing to do with the milk of human kindness.

Many years ago, a dungeon was like a crawl space. They lifted up a part of the stone floor way way down in the bottom of the castle and chucked you in. And there you stayed till you died. You drank the seep off the stone walls, and now and then, they'd throw in some rotten cabbage or something for food.

Olson, Bernardo, Picton, and Mrs.Bernardo are goddam lucky I'm not in charge.

For decades, liberals tried persuading Americans to abolish the death penalty, using their usual argument: hysterical sobbing.

Only when the media began lying about innocent people being executed did support for the death penalty begin to waver, falling from 80 percent to about 60 percent in a little more than a decade. (Silver lining: That's still more Americans than believe in man-made global warming.)

Fifty-nine percent of Americans now believe that an innocent man has been executed in the last five years. There is more credible evidence that space aliens have walked among us than that an innocent person has been executed in this country in the past 60 years, much less the past five years.

But unless members of the public are going to personally review trial transcripts in every death penalty case, they have no way of knowing the truth. The media certainly won't tell them.

It's nearly impossible to receive a death sentence these days -- unless you do something completely crazy like shoot a cop in full view of dozens of witnesses in a Burger King parking lot, only a few hours after shooting at a passing car while exiting a party.

That's what Troy Davis did in August 1989. Davis is the media's current baby seal of death row.

After a two-week trial with 34 witnesses for the state and six witnesses for the defense, the jury of seven blacks and five whites took less than two hours to convict Davis of Officer Mark MacPhail's murder, as well as various other crimes. Two days later, the jury sentenced Davis to death.

Now, a brisk 22 years after Davis murdered Officer MacPhail, his sentence will finally be administered this week -- barring any more of the legal shenanigans that have kept taxpayers on the hook for Davis' room and board for the past two decades.

(The average time on death row is 14 years. Then liberals turn around and triumphantly claim the death penalty doesn't have any noticeable deterrent effect. As the kids say: Duh.)

While I have to agree with you in that it is definitely not a life I'd choose for myself, these bastards do have many amenities that many among us don't. Nutritious food three times a day, top medical care, opportunities for exercise in elaborate gyms, education, including college degrees, warm, dry place to live, hot water for showers, but I do agree that some aspects of their incarceration is worse than death (albeit none of us know what death entails) :lol:

The other day I made reference on here to those three pr*cks who dragged the black guy behind their pickup until his head came off. Well, lo and behold this is one of those 3 pricks 13 years later. I'd have mixed a generous dose of ammonia in his last meal. That piece of sh*t has to rate as one of the cruelest in U.S. history.
