Maybe, it's just on the wrong coast. There'll be convoys of LNG tankers crossing to Europe every day after the shooting war starts with the Russians and they cut off all of Europe's gas.

They'll call you first because you have experience fighting the Russians at sea.

Well Ontario certainly is after their recent purchase of Avista.

Absolutely!

There is no way Canada is going to meet its Paris Deal targets. But seriously, did anyone think they really would with its track record regarding GW obligations.

"We'll end up paying hundreds of millions of dollars that should be going to schools and hospitals to an oil company and that is not a goal that anybody's looking for."
No shit Sherlock.

Exactly, because those in the industry know realize that exporting LNG from North America is a money-losing proposition.

No it isn't. THis is mainly because of our new dipper government that made it uneconomic. So far Wood fibre LNG is still a go but it is much smaller and on an old pulp mill site.
Face it NDP governments are bad for jobs.

That's an IMPORT terminal, not an export one, and plans to convert it to export were cancelled because the numbers DON'T MAKE SENSE.

The numbers make sense. It is the politics that don't. That is why Canada will always be on the verge of being a third world economy. We have myopic gutless politicians.

Petronas has been signalling they'd pull out for years now and they've always been apprehensive about it's viability in BC. You can make this about the political party you hate, or you could know a thing or two about the actual issue.
I'll take Option 1.

So will everybody else, but I'll admit it.

The numbers don't make sense to the people in the boardrooms who are billionaires. But if you think it does, then you should build an export terminal for LNG. Obviously, you can make it work.

Maritime gas? If that plant ever does function as an export terminal, it will be exporting gas from New England, not the maritimes.

There's not enough 'maritime gas' for domestic use, much less export.

Uh, what's baseless about it? How much gas is presently coming out of NB and NS?

Your really need to educate yourself just a tad on this.

Canada has an abundance of nat gas and small population. It's the nations in Asia and Europe that have far larger populations, manufacturing, etc that are looking for it, not the other way around.

As far as maritime natural gas, well, why do you think that they are building pipelines from the west to the east?... C'mon man, use a little logic here.

As far as maritime gas is concerned, Hiberia alone represented below

Recoverable reserves/resources:
  • 1.644 million barrels of oil
  • 2.353 tcf of natural gas
Noia > Industry Info > Oil & Gas Projects > Hibernia

Hibernia is only one field.... You can look here to learn more about the various fields on Canada's East coast.

East Coast Canada Oil & Gas Activity

.... So, now are you beginning to understand why your comments and assumptions are baseless?

Hey Capt. - You can't educate someone who is unwilling to learn. :)
