The debt has gone up significantly. Your graph, while cute is not an indicator of total debt. It actually does not show anythng relevant to the debt at all.
The debt (anyway) will only increase because Trudeau is giving benefits to people who don't deserve them and any politician that wants to decrease said benefits will be ostracized big time because they simply cannot take away that which has been given! It's incredible that anyone would think otherwise. People expect their benefits and scream blue hell if they're cut back.
Rather than rely on themselves they rely on government so nothing will ever get fixed because politicians rely on those same people for votes. More benefits means more money that's printed which results in whatever savings a person has (if any) means nothing because its value has decreased and inflation has just eaten everything up. Venezuela comes to mind.....

Wrong again. That gives no context at all. Real numbers are sonmething people can relate to even if the numbers are too high for most of them to fully grasp. Your fiscal mentality is that of someone that borrows money on one credit card to pay the minimum payment on another card and think they have money to left over by doing this.
