Seems to have the same opion I do that tariff threats are against the Liberal party. Exit now or....
As the Liberal Party searches for its next leader, two more members of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s cabinet have announced they will not seek re-election.

Justice Minister Arif Virani and International Trade Minister Mary Ng join several high-profile Liberal MPs over the past 12 months who have decided against seeking another term.

Appears the internal polling is not showing a jump with Carney .

I've beem watching Ron's polling charts. I have been focusing on Ontario because like it or not, that province will decide the nature of the next federal government. At the point TrueDope sort of half resigned the PCs were expected to get 100 seats. Last one is down to 77. That's about a 25% drop. I am seeing. a scenario where Carney is anointed and all sins washed away by the media and people buying him as a viable alternative. Add to that an unpredictable neighbour and I don't feel as certain that the next federal government will be a PC one as I did 2 months ago.

Remember Dione and his dog Kyoto , followed by Iggy pop , Canadians had enough of Liberal bs . I would hope we are in the same place . Not being in touch with Ontario I cannot say you are wrong . But why else are they bailing on their cushion around the gravy train .

I live in Toronto. Support for any party is always fickle. It has been solidly Liberal since 2015. My riding has been Liberal both federally and provincially for as long as I can remember. My vote is always wasted.

Take nothing for granted. While the Conservatives remain on track to win a majority in the next election, multiple polls are showing the Liberals rebounding to levels not seen since the summer of 2023.
What’s changed in the last two months is that Canada has been brought to the edge of a ruinous trade war with the United States — a dispute that also hastened the early January departure announcement from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and triggered a search for his replacement.

The dispute has also forced the Liberals into an about-face on any number of issues that have previously been monopolized by the Conservatives. Of late, this has even included Industry Ministry François-Philippe Champagne saying that Canada needs to consider building oil export pipelines to the East Coast.
