Really, what does this solve? The Federal Government approved it, the national regulating body approved it, the Liberals declared it in the national interest and had complete and total authority to ensure it's construction...all while Kinder Morgan was still in charge and it's investors were paying the bill. The reason they pulled out is because they needed assurance that Trudeau would do his job, exercise his authority, and eliminate the political barriers to getting it built. He couldn't do that.
Nothing has changed, BC is just as against the pipe as they were yesterday, the envrios and Tides Foundation is every bit as resolute in ensuring this project fails as they were yesterday. The only thing Trudeau did is spend 12 billion tax dollars to shift the monumental risk from private corporoate investors to the Canadian taxpayer. Nothing more!
