Can we not depend on wind in areas like Lethbridge and Pincher Creek?

I'm not sure how that would help Canadians who are out of work!
100mph down to 10mph is too wide a range for one size prop to work.

Prefabs, build here ship there with a pensioner and a 'stay out of jail for the most part' card. You pension is now room and board at a facility of their choosing.

The wind does not always blow. Also the price/megawatt is a lot higher than coal or nuclear or thermo (where available) or any other type of energy (except possibly solar).

I think the idea of wind energy is to store it in batteries. As for coal, I thought it had become unacceptable as a source of power.

It generates CO2 as an output. Some places like SK have got around that I believe (ask petros).

Also storing in batteries is expensive. And batteries have a huge carbon footprint along with general environmental footprint.

Meh, deficits are smoke and mirrors. The Glibs keep upping their "deficit" so when they come in under their prediction, they look like heroes. It is a habit they have practised for years.
Personally, I could not give two hoots about budgets as long as the debt is lowered. Freakin politicians are no better than used toilet tissue.

Seems to be Harper's plans. "Date modified: 2015-03-27". Only thing current is the minister. Nothing about the new spending.

Well of course there is nothing new. The federal government doesn't unilaterally create an infrastructure project. People that think they do are just silly

Exactly. People that voted Liberal believing they would suddenly be creating infrastructure projects are pretty silly.

$4.5 billion for BC apparently. We'll see. BC tends to underestimate the cost and time it takes to do projects. Another idiotic habit of politicians and their cohorts.

Yup Hwy 1 twinning, heavy work on 5 and 16 and ports ports ports. Still from Harper's ActionPlan inherited from Martin.

as long as it isn't a port to nowhere. How much has the water warmed up at 100mile beach?

Too many confuse deficit with debt. A budget is merely a plan on what you intend to spend. Not all income goes to the budget. It's how SK can have a "rainy day fund" or the now depleted AB "heritage fund".

It is quite silly to promise to run $10 billion deficits to build infrastructure, then once elected say they will run $25 billion deficits and not build infrastructure.

It's even sillier to expect government to start the projects within two months of being elected

It is nice that we get more highway. The fed could have been a lot sillier and allocated money for healthcare in BC.
I mean what idiot would allocate money for something which almost everyone uses when there is something more important to spend on that few people use a lot? Especially after Martin is the dyckhead who pulled the rug out from under the provinces' health transfers anyways. Oh, gee. I forgot, the highway is more important to Canada as a whole. My bad.

Or even announce them in their throne speech.

Why would they announce them in their throne speech? Clearly you lack understanding when it comes to the time frames involved in major infrastructure projects if you think a government would be able to announce a project or projects a few weeks into a mandate. Perhaps you should just stop talking now before this gets really embarrassing for you.

The highways fund your health care. Enjoy!

PS the bulk of healthcare is Provincial. Bitch at Victoria.
