If Rae hadn't been shot in the arse by a Liberal finance minister, he'd be a great leader ... but then again, he probably would have stayed on as Ontario NDP's grand poobah

Is it time for one of your patented Conservative Party booster threads already?

I heard it will be catered by Chucky Cheese and have balloons and cotton candy.

You should have fun there today.

As I recall Rae handed in his walking papers after Svend Robinson started making unfounded accusations against Israel in regard to the so called "Jenin Massacre."

I think he even wrote an open letter saying that the NDP no longer represented his values.

As I recall, Rae wasn't "left" enough for Union-headed NDP

I'll see if I can track down that open letter.

Haven't found the letter yet, but here's a snippit from Wiki. I know it's Wiki, but I'm still looking.

"Parting Company with the NDP", Rae strongly criticized what he perceived as a bias against Israel in the federal party, and also criticized the NDP for rejecting Tony Blair's Third Way socialism and for refusing to accept globalization and open markets. He suggested that the party's economic policies were insufficient for the 21st century, and that the party as a whole was no longer "worthy of support".

You don't have to prove anything to me. I know there were some mutual hard feelings between Rae and the party. Whether he walked away of his own accord or was asked to do so doesn't really matter.

There's a surprising number of them out today. I was just at the Rideau Centre. At least half the people there are Liberals. They're easily spotted with their red shirts, bags, ties and shirts.

Who got the contract for Help Wanted signs to be posted in the NDP lounge?

Some Quebec firm with party connections. No open tender.

I'll see if I can track down that open letter.

Well he certainly got the last sentence right on the money.

Liberal Convention

The Liberals will try to be the leaders of tomorrow that’s if the Conservatives leave Canada intact.
Do we have to pay for our popcorn and coffee? If we do I'm not going.

The Liberals will try to be the leaders of tomorrow? Considering the doldrums they presently find themselves in they might want to shoot for a later date.
lol.

All kidding aside I hope the Liberals get their she it together and decide if they want to be a relevant political party again or a mere footnote in history of Canada.

Did ya get the heck outta there? I know I would. ;)

After I ate I did. I've been to rallies and events for every major party. The Liberals seem to be the most self obsessed ones.

All kidding aside I hope the Liberals get their she it together and decide if they want to be a relevant political party again or a mere footnote in history of Canada.

Even if they never recover I'd say they deserve more than a footnote in our history.

Contracting out and consulting equates to “You Get What You Pay For And Less”

Most contractors and consultants do slower work; cut corners, seldom finish on time, which inflates the cost of the original project.

In the contracting and consulting business cost overruns seems to be the norm.

In-house labour gives more efficient work force, better quality of work, more control and getting the project finished within the budget on time.

In-House labour will give better quality that will last as long as it is supposed to instead of breaking down before it's time.

We also cannot forget that contracting out and consulting projects usually end up in the inner circle of friends of the decision makers.

Look at the St Clair streetcar contracting out fiasco. http://www.torontosun.com/news/torontoandgta/2010/01/19/12534386.html

A Toronto mayoral candidate went down in defeat because of his handling of the electronic health records conversion by using consultants and contractors. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/story/2009/10/07/ehealth-auditor.html

It is just better to hire workers to do the job right the first time instead of spending more money constantly fixing the mistake of contractors and consultants year after year.

Really Liberalman?

Looks like she's prepared to claw yer eyes out - but then again, that may be blessing in disguise.
