Lets talk about Nancy Pelosi

Again, nobody to my knowledge called her a bitch or a hag. The Democratic attacks were directed at Palin the politician, not Palin the woman.

Attacks again Pelosi are aimed not at Pelosi the politician, but at Pelosi the woman (Which policy issue of hers is attacked by calling her a bitch or a hag?). Republicans are up to their old game again, the politics of personal destruction.

As I said before, they are devoid of any policies, so personal destruction, personal name calling, personal mud slinging is the only weapon they have left (just as many Trolls in this forum resort to name calling, personal insults when they have ran out of the arguments, when they have nothing left to say).

She sure is better looking than anything the Democrats have also.

Why do you think she was popular among old white men (just about the only group in which she was popular). They didn't admire her for her mind, that was obvious.

Why is it that a women must be admired for her mind? She was created with so much more than a gray mass in otherwise empty skull. Pelosi photographs horribly most of the time, and those blinking eyes, what is with that. Smart no, dangerous yes, intelligent yes. This women represents a bankrupt state that she helped bankrupt, and now we should trust her with the country.

Ironsides, Pelosi had nothing to do with the state California is in today, I don’t think she ever held a position of high authority in California (like Governor or Lt. Governor). The mess in California has to be laid at the door of the Republican governor, not at the feet of the Democratic Speaker of the House in Washington.

To claim that a Washington politician is responsible for the mess in California is dishonest in the extreme. Look at your governor first before you throw stones at others. Governor Arnie gets the lion’s share of the blame (unless you think that he is only the puppet and Pelosi is the puppet master). But of course, a Republican cannot do anything wrong, perish the thought. So your perverse train of logic says that Republican governor of California is blameless, but the Speaker of the House (who has absolutely no say in running California) is the one to blame.

As to trusting her to running the country (which is again nonsense, it is Obama who is running the country), she enjoys the support and confidence of Democrats in the House, The only way to get rid of Pelosi is for the Republicans to win the control of the House in 2010 (which is certainly possible, but I wouldn’t’ count on it).

Why is it that a women must be admired for her mind?

But that is just it; Republicans don’t admire women for their mind. A woman must be beautiful to succeed as a Republican, her views don’t matter much. Like the current Miss California (I think she is Miss California). She is a great favorite with the Republican Party base, not because she has any brains, but she is good looking and she can spout the far right, hate filled propaganda.

It is more difficult for a woman to rise to the ranks of authority in Democratic Party; she must have brains, experience and a record of achievement for that.

But what record of achievement does Joan of Arc have (besides that she is good looking)? Very little. She has been a governor of a state with a tiny population, a state which is overwhelmingly Republican. That is her only claim to experience. The Republican base likes her mostly for her looks, nothing else.

Now, in politics that can be an asset, but good looks don’t guarantee success at an election, look at Dan Quayle.

To succeed in politics, a woman must be a mean street fighter like Hillary Clinton, or like Nancy Pelosi. And she must back up the street fight with plenty of experience, plenty of accomplishments.

Joan of Arc is a pit bull all right, but she cannot back it up with any accomplishments. That is why she started out as the most popular female politician in USA, but soon her popularity tanked. By November she was intensely unpopular with the women of USA.

So I agree with you here, in the Democratic Party a woman is admired for her mind, in Republican Party she is admired for her looks.

CDN... it is perfectly OK for Democrats and Liberals to tear apart women and minorities... after all... they're liberal.

Otherwise referred to as the morally bankrupt...;-)

I hear ya.

Did you notice that SJP, who claims to have me on ignore, can't seem to find an instance of the Dems calling Palin all manner of silly childish names?

I guess if you only read what you want to read and what supports your asinine idelogy, you never get the whole picture, lol...

Libs and Democrats have always been the worse enemy to women and minorities and would instantly turn on a woman and a minority if they DARED not kneel before them and pay hommage to them. Condi Rice, Clarence Thomas to name a few minorities to come under bitter and racial attcks from the well to do white washed liberal elite. Palin, each and every first lady are other women that came under bitter sexist attacks by the left.

SJP is a prime example of a liberal who gives scraps to the downtrodden and thinks he is actually doing good.

His claim that Michelle Obama is a role model to Third World Women because she is "as dark as they come" speaks VOLUMES of the liberal mind set.

Yeah right, EagleSmack. I suppose that is why women, blacks, Hispanics, gays etc. vote Democratic in such large numbers. If you think they do that in spite of Democrats being their enemies, you must have a really low opinion of intelligence of minorities (another reason why they don’t vote Republican).

Response to #24.

I will not dignify the rubbish in this post by quoting any insane sentence from it.

According to the wisdom expressed by SirJosephPorter, Republicans/conservatives admired Golda Meir, Margaret Thatcher, Benizer Bhutto and Condollezza Rice for their exceptionally beautiful looks, and NOT their brains. And had Miss California endorsed same-sex-marriage (thrown in the garbage AGAIN by no less of an authority than the most progressive court in the U.S.), had she DISAGREED with the view held by Obama on the subject, she would have been hailed by liberals/gays as a genius, and not called a "stupid bitch".

Like I told you before, Joan of Arc died several centuries ago. Rumour says it was on the top of Mount Ararat, shortly after her husband, Noah successfully landed the Arc.

You have the bloody nerve to denigrate the achivements of Sarah Palin!! She was and still is FAR MORE qualified to be President than Obama and Biden put together. Her good looks are a bonus which liberals have hard time to to terms with because their idea of feminine beauty is Hillary Clinton, Helen Thomas or Whoopie Goldberg.

As for your reference to Dan Quayle: Joe Biden makes Quayle look like a genius.

A woman must be a street fighter?? HUH?? The two you mention probably have street experience but it is definitely NOT fighting.

Sarah Palin is ten times the woman as Fancy Piglosi. And at least twice the man as the apologist-in-chief, least prepared and least qualified for the office that he usurped, supported by politically correct idiots.

It speaks of the reality, EagleSmack, it speaks of how she is regarded by the poor, black women in the third world. They identify with her because she looks like them. Perhaps that is a concept Republicans would never understand (although they apparently have no problem voting for a candidate just because he is white, I don’t think there is a single black Republican Senator, Congressman, or governor).

That was quite a rant, Yukon. Anyway, I got the following out of all that (just about the only substantive thing in the whole rant).

A woman must be a street fighter?? HUH?? The two you mention probably have street experience but it is definitely NOT fighting.

So now you think that Pelosi and Clinton are prostitutes? About what I would have expected from a Republican, the politics of personal destruction at its best (or at its worst?).

Again, note that nobody called Joan of Arc a prostitute. The attacks were on her politics, not her as a woman. Most of the attacks that Republican launch against Democratic women are intended for personal destruction, they are intended to destroy them as women. Hence, their referring to Pelosi as a bitch, a hag or a prostitute.

As I said, I seriously doubt if such personal destruction, such mud slinging, such scurrilous, filthy name calling would work, but then, never overestimate the intelligence of American people.

The attacks were on her politics, not her as a woman.

Nonsense. The only difference is that the sexist attacks on Palin were more subtle. On one blog I read

"She is a woman with five children with her youngest having down syndrome. This is life. I get it. However, it is hard for me not to construe Governor Palin's actions of ambition to be of a selfish nature."

I seriously doubt that this type of thing would be written about a male candidate.

or...

"First of all, let's take her 17-year old unmarried pregnant daughter. Stuff happens. This does not bother me. Yet, what does bother me is that she would subject her daughter to or underestimate the level of scrutiny her daughter would be subjected to as a result of her agreeing to be on the Senator John McCain ticket. Then, her and the Republicans have the nerve to complain about the level of media scrutiny."

Again, I can't recall a male candidate being criticized for subjecting his family to scrutiny. Yes, the Democrats are just as sexist and racist as the Republicans. They just hide it better. Sometimes they don't even try to hide it. They justify it by claiming it's just reality after all.

Get your mind out of the gutter, SirJosephPorter!

I only implied that they were "COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS" like your hero, the apologist-in-chief.

And if you only got one sentence out of my "rant" go back to school and complete grade 3. Or at least get a grasp of reality. Or stop lying.

Ask Condi Rice if she would rather be called a hag or a house negro, or Aunt Jemima, the favourite description of her by the oh so tolerant and loving liberals. Ask Sarah Palin if she liked being called a pig by your hero, the second black (by half) president. (Remember the first one was Bill Clinton).

Cannuck, in response to your post #36.

Your quotes (in italics) would have never been written about a man; very true.

But even more significantly, they would have never been written about a pro-abortion liberal woman.

Sez you, Yukon. Let us look at your quote again.

A woman must be a street fighter?? HUH?? The two you mention probably have street experience but it is definitely NOT fighting.

Street experience is community organizing experience? Do you really think I am that naïve? ‘Street experience’ implies only one thing, experience as a prostitute. What does community organizing have to do with streets?

If you were not saying that they are prostitutes, say so explicitly. Implying that they were prostitutes by innuendo is achieving new lows, even for a Republican.

"Republicans just can’t stand to see a woman in the position of power, as a Speaker of the House."- Come on S.J. give me one scintilla of proof that Reps are any different from Dems this regard.
