OK, so are you in favour of amputation or against amputation?

That is a softball, JLM. I support amputation in some circumstances. When the doctor decides that an amputation is necessary (for gangrene, or whatever reason) and the patients agrees to the procedure, I support amputation. And i think you hold the same position.

The hypocrites who cry about the value of human life have absolutely no hesitation about killing a baby, who has not done anything wrong.

Anyone who argues about the value of human life, but supports abortion is the most despicable sub-human, no better than Clifford Olsen or Paul Bernando.

YEAH, SirJosephPorter, we have been here before. You were wrong and a hypocrtite then and you are wrong and a hypocrite now. I know you well enough to know what you are about to say.

So, save your blabber.

Don't change the subject, YJ. You do that many times. If you want to discuss abortion, put up a separate thread. I will be happy to discuss with you why there is nothing wrong with abortion. But here we are discussing death penalty.

Oh so now you want to change the rules, need I dig up the statement where you said you are either for something or against it? I was willing to give you zero for dabating skills, but now you are down to minus 5.

Y.J. is on exactly the correct thread- Death penalty.

And if one innocent man is executed unfairly, the whole system falls apart. We can NEVER support a system that is that faulty.

Plus the psychological torture of putting people on death row is inhumane.

I agree up to a point. Could you live with a system that is so faulty an innocent child is murdered?

There's very little difference between them.

And what is your point here? Of course you are for or against something. Being for something with some restrictions is same as being for it, what is the difference? Thus you support death penalty, I don't.

And I am as high as -5? You flatter me, JLM. Anything less than minus infinity from you, I interpret that to mean that you regard my debating skills quite highly.

So are you for amputations. Please just a "Yes" or a "No".

Why do we need two threads on killing?

So now you want to turn this thread into an abortion thread? I doubt if Ron will appreciate that.

And abortion is killing, according to absurd religious beliefs of conservatives only (which they gleefully try to impose upon everybody else).

Good, the guillotine is a tool for amputation, glad to have that cleared up.

And what has that go to do with anything? You seem to be ashamed to admit that you support death penalty. But that is exactly what you are doing. Let me give you a few examples.

If somebody who smokes infrequently (say once a week) still is a smoker. He is not a non smoker.

If somebody who eats meat occasionally is still a non vegetarian, he is not a vegetarian.

If somebody drinks occasionally, say once a week, he still is a drinker, he is not a teetotaler.

Indeed, I could give many examples like this. But somebody who supports death penalty for some crimes is a death penalty supporter, not an opponent. All the death penalty supporters support death penalty for a few crimes only; I don’t think anybody supports death penalty for every crime, starting with pickpockets up.

If we accept your argument (that somebody who supports death penalty for some crimes actually opposed death penalty), by that definition, nobody supports death penalty, 100% of the population is against death penalty. Which is plainly nonsense.

So try to squirm as you might, the fact is you are a death penalty supporter (only for some reason you are ashamed to admit it). You are squarely in the opposing camp compared to me.

WRONG- as usual. Definition of abortion is not a political issue- it's a common sense issue. Why bring Ron into it? I'm sure he knows what you're like the same as the rest of us.

YOu can go ahead and define anything any way you want to if it makes you feel better, I've stated my position and obviously I'm not ashamed of it or I wouldn't advocate it. By your definitions if I suffer from the flu once a year, I'm an unhealthy person. If I have sex once a week, I'm a sex maniac.

I don't think he will appreciate you hijacking the thread to discuss abortion. But if you want to, I am game.

Definition of abortion is a scientific issue. When it comes to matters of science (when does life begin), I prefer to listen to scientists, doctors and biologists, rather than self appointed conservative guardians of peoples’ morals, like yourself, or Pope or Pat Robertson etc.

Doctors, biologists tell us that they don’t’ know when life begins and that is good enough for me. Conservatives have a political and religious agenda to promote in opposing abortion.
