Thanks for enlightening everyone here with a stunning display of literal mindedness.There was no "close call", that Orca didn't want to catch that dog, cause if it had wanted to, it would have.
It looks to me like the Orca is just smelling the dog's butt.
Not too many critters find dog meat all that palatable. They are usually the meal of last resort, especially those raised on dry dog food. Most dogs, like their human masters, are not much more than toxic waste.yeah, I think he was curious and playfull, they aren't interested in eating dog meat.

I thought rowboats were the preferred fair of Great Whites.East coast Orcas eat rowboats. You have very small ones out there in BC.
