My stance is purely an environmental concern and this project is a colossal fukk up that will destroy land, sea and water. What we do to the Earth, we do to ourselves. And for idiots like Rummy who will say where have you been while Victoria dumps raw sewage into the ocean, I have been fighting for the environment for over 50 years and clowns like him and petroglyph have been fighting to destroy it for most of their adult lives. You can't eat or drink money and when you can no longer breath the air, we all die. Try not breathing for 5 minutes.

You're over reacting, Cliffy. None of what you mention has actually happened, at least to a critical degree. If man can put a person on Mars, surely to Christ they can move oil w/o buggering up the environment. If we don't at least try we'll never get anywhere. We already have a few thousand drones in the country that have to be supported somehow. Let's start supporting the WORKING people.

First off, we can't put a man on Mars. It will probably never happen. Second, have you seen the garbage islands in the Pacific that are twice the size of France? The Bay of Mexico is still a dead zone from the BP oil rig fire, Fukushima has made the Pacific radio active, they are still cleaning up the Valdez fiasco. Destroying the west coast fisheries would put more people out of work than any jobs created by a pipeline. Give your head a shake man.

Myth

There is a reason there hasn't been a spill the size of the Exxon Valdez since the Exxon Valdez.

Any takers?

Yes, anti-pipeline Vancouver really is North America’s largest exporter of coal

Oh my!

I hope that the eco-crowd out in YVR takes note of this heinous reality and starts the picketing asap

Second, have you seen the garbage islands in the Pacific that are twice the size of France?

Is it as big as the massive slicker of raw sewage from Victoria and the Lower Mainland that is causing all that norovirus and cholera?

... It must be devastating to all of the marine life out there

What a shame

I don't Cliffy (in reference to your meme). Especially the mystical Pacific Plastic Patch. I saw a show on Vice where they went looking for this great Pacific Plastic Patch and couldn't find it, even though it is supposed to be the size of Texas. Eventually the environmentalist said that is really wasn't a big patch that you can see. They eventually found some plastic debris after searching for days.

LMAO. Ecotards.

Considering that you can see Texas from satellite images, you'd expect that there would be a raft of pics available.

... Say, maybe one of the more artistically inclined weenies can draw one and they can count it as fact as per artist's rendition?

It's a big myth. Even ulta-liberal Vice channel couldn't find it. However there are plenty of dopes who actually believe there is a huge patch of plastic the size of Texas in the middle of the Pacific. Cliffy even posted photos of post Tsunami shoreline and harbor scenes trying to pass them off as the mystical Pacific Plastic Patch.

It's a 2 hr bus ride to Tswwassen. TMPL is 750m from Sky Train.

There is a reason there hasn't been a spill the size of the Exxon Valdez since the Exxon Valdez.

Any takers?

1. Double hulled tankers
2. More vigilance toward drunken skippers
3. Ships limited to hauling less oil
4. More regulations regarding transport of oil
5 All the above.

That is super convenient

1. Double hulled tankers
2. More vigilance toward drunken skippers
3. Ships limited to hauling less oil
4. More regulations regarding transport of oil
5 All the above.

6. Stop the practice of dumping millions of gallons of untreated raw sewage each and every day into the ocean

Well, they are most certainly in the forefront in this photo, the rest is questionable at best.
the only questionable part is how anyone could dispute that BC First Nations are forming the vanguard of the opposition to Kinder Morgan's expansion.

It indicates a complete lack of understanding of the issue.

Hey Cliffy, if you ever come down from the hills you should try fishing in the Bay of Mexico. I just checked and they're all types of fishing charters for you.

Actually we can, so far the purpose, expense or safely of it is probably questionable! We all understand your concerns about the environment Cliffy, but the extent and validity of them may be in question. Maybe you should balance that concern off with other concerns, such as the right to earn a living without undue impediments. The right of home ownership and the ability to make the payments. The affordability of transportation, the affordability of home heating. The environment of the planet is of utmost importance, SAME as the wellbeing of its citizens!

How come no outrage to the North American leading Coal export terminal, it's not environmentally sexy enough?
