I've just just been sat in front of the Town Hall on a warm summer's night posting on here when a tall and menacing-looking bald guy in a suit and tie approached me from out of nowhere. He asked me what I'm doing. I told him I'm just chilling after work. He saw a bottle of beer open and asked if he can have some. So he took a swig. He asked to look inside my carrier bag and then said "I won't take the rest of the beer off you." As he said it he swigged the rest of the beer that was opened. He then asked again why I'm stood outside the town hall. So I said I'm just chilling and that I can sit outside the town hall whenever I want to. I asked him where he's from. He said he's from Preston in Lancashire. He reached inside his inside pocket as if reaching for a weapon and he asked me what my name is. I lied and said John. He started repeating menacingly: "Do I scare you? Do I scare you? Do I scare you?" Like a ****ing robot!


And I lied and said that he doesn't scare me and started to back away.

So at that moment I just briskly walked away, rounded a corner and there's now no sign of him. Now it's just usual late night city noises and occurrences.

Who the **** is he? A member of the GMCA (Greater Manchester Government), an MI5 agent, an MIB, a gangster?

I'll be miffed if it was some local government thing to get me away from the Town Hall. I sit outside there a lot after work now. I finish work late at night and now I like to chill in the heat with a beer in our beautiful Victoria Square after work. Maybe the councillors don't like me sitting in Victoria Square and that guy is the result.

Still, weird and creepy as ****.

And I'm still going to be sitting in Victoria Square after work because I believe I have a right to sit there whenever I please.

It's not 'sudden' for me.
I've ALWAYS had this issue.
But then I also don't like how the leadership/PM is selected in Canada.
As for your 'example' of Brown, he was PM only because his party selected him. He kept that position until he was ousted in a General Election, but IMO that election should have been called MUCH earlier than three years. If he wanted to be the legitimate PM for all of Britain and not just by virtue of his winning the "Who's more liked" contest that is the leadership race, he should have called for a general election.
Any time Canada has gotten a PM by this model, I have not considered them the real PM of ALL Canada, they're PM because they won the party's popularity contest.

Getting Brexit done meaning a hard Brexit which, really is likely what needs to happen. Whether he'll be a great PM or not, that remains to be seen.

But, for the third time, Blackie said he was elected PM which he wasn't. He was selected to be leader of his party, which makes him automatically the PM. To be the REAL PM of Britain, he needs to be elected in a general election. Right now, he's just the guy in the hot seat until the next election. And before you or Blackie or anyone else says something, this is my stance no matter what party is in charge.

Victoria Square, Bolton, Greater Manchester.

I'm sat on a bench at the front corner of the Town Hall (which was opened in 1873, by the way) at the far left of the picture. It's where I had my encounter with the MIB last night.

Right now the Town Hall is lit up in red, like it is every night. It looks magnificent.

Those are two big lions sat either side of the steps, looking menacingly down at passers-by as they have done for as long as I can remember.

As for Boris, I'm hoping his Brexit will be proper independence from the EU, full control again of our country, no free movement. Full blown sovereignty, either with a deal or without one.

It is a mess. Will be watching Johnson......but he is too prone to gaffs and does not appear logical , or fact based enough. He is a bit of a BS artist.......like but not as bad as Trump. Don't think he is pliable enough to mold effectively into the job. But we will see.
