I agree with you there and probably why the poll is only 31% of Albertans to become a sovereign state.. that would be to expensive and silly.

However if you add a viable path to becoming the 51st state and joining a strong economic country like the USA.. then I think you would have a yes vote in Alberta that would make the rest of Canada’s head spin..

Peter Zeihan says Alberta would be better off as 51st U.S. state - Calgary - CBC News

I’m not for an independent Alberta or an Alberta as it’s own country, I’m only for an Alberta as the 51st state.

I would vote for that in a heart beat. I’m not a fan about Trump, but it’s not about Trump it’s about respect, and money.
Nah your just a Trump sock puppet .

80% of BC residents are against the pipeline and the tanker traffic. It is his job to do whatever he can to do the will of the majority.

And Taxslave...

You got your numbers backwards. That poll was done in NDP headquarters. The party that does NOT represent the views of taxpayers.

Horgan has nothing to win here. He would have been far better not saying anything

Too bad that the province of BC has no say in the matter.... I guess that your fake numbers really don't matter.

PS - Gotta love the reality that the Spirit Eagle pipeline will be transporting all kinds of dirty oil from the prairies through your pristine province yet all of the jobs and billions in construction dollars will be in Alaska

Too true. But Horrible Horgan has never been shy about flapping his gums on the wrong side of any subject.
It is very offensive that he chose small businesses with zero connection to the oil industry as pawns in the plan the dippers and dream weaver have to destroy my province.

REcall starts in November.

He is in a Union you idiots.

Small oil is bigger than Big Oil

Have a nice day and buy CO-OP gas, I loved the last bonus.

More to the point it is my union brothers and sisters that stand to loose the most in all this since we are the ones that build all the facilities.
There are a lot of us voted for the Liberals last election because their pro development stance means good paying jobs for us.

If he loses his 3 greens, it's election time.

If that all it takes, he's already lost by virtue of the Feds stating that they will ram it down their throats

Well it seems to me if BC doesn’t want our oil, and if Montreal doesn’t want our oil.. however the USA is buying our oil.. maybe it’s time to take the plunge and join the USA as the 51st state..

No need to join the USA... Going indie and not having to pay Ottawa personal and corp taxes will make that venture not only viable, but highly profitable.

Seeing how that BC, Ont, Que, et al want this as well, why wait?

More to the point it is my union brothers and sisters that stand to loose the most in all this since we are the ones that build all the facilities.

Sadly, BC takes all the pipeline risk on the Spirit Eagle line and Alaska and Alberta see all of the upside.

Dipper logic, eh?

There is nothing gained by Alberta aside from "sticking it" to their neighbours.

I disagree. If it serves to push this issue into the spotlight, and light a fire under some Federal asses then it was a calculated and positive move by the Alberta NDP.

At the moment I'm seeing the difficulties being heaped onto the BC wine industry as collateral damage, not a central issue in itself. The real issue here is Mr. Horgan and the BC NDP thinking they can dictate Federal policy by throwing up roadblocks in front of a Federally regulated and Federally approved project that is in the best interest of the country as a whole.

And it's certainly not hard to see some Green fingers poking into this pie. The BC NDP got into bed with the devil by signing on with the BC Greens. Andrew Weaver holds a knife at John Horgan's throat and just has to wiggle it a bit to get whatever he wants.

When I return to Canada I think I’m going to get very active in the Alberta separatist movement... put some money and TV ads togeather.. make people seriously take an interest in the idea.

Don't let the door hit you on the ass as you leave.

Well, if Alberta doesn't separate, then maybe BC should. We are tired of getting the short end of the stick from the rest of Canada anyway. And y'all can just go take a flying...
