So what is he being indicted for? The article says he violated election law by trying to cover up the affair, but that doesn't make sense. There's a step missing here.

The indictment, I believe, has to do with allegedly using campaign funds to "hide" his mistress (pay her off or whatever).

Broads and cocaine.....the two most effective tools in setting up for and killing a political career. Those two techniques been used hundreds of times over the past few decades.

Just after Wikileaks i posted that Asange will be framed using broads or cocaine. Three days later guess what happens?

And yet broads and cocaine are so much fun that it's difficult to find something more fun to blow campaign funds on.

Well I'm not sure if he will be indicted for anything, but what a scumbag, screwing around and fathering a child while his wife is dying with cancer.

If there's karma I hope he gets a big helping

He doesn't need to be nidicted. Just making the infidelity claims is more than enough to ruin his career whether he is innocent or guilty. It works and it works well.

Don't know what took them so long, but I hope they will be faster with conviction and putting his liberal ass in a penitentiary.

I'm wondering what that would accomplish. Locking him up at a public expense of $hundreds every day. He's not an imminent danger to the general public and if you want to incarcerate people for misuse of public funds, then the U.S. probably needs another 50 million jail cells and Canada probably needs five million.

yes, I agree, he is an 'ass hole', obviously, and should pay back any funds he used, and he has
allready ruined his own career, but putting him in jail, (which they won't anyway), wouldn't
accomplish much of anything.

I watched a very interesting, handsome and intelligent man, turn himself into a very uninteresting,
not handsome anymore, stupid idiot, in a very short time.

All of that activity he had while campaigning has dragged him into the mud along with many
like him, and he will be mired there for some time.

But jail doesn't seem to be apprpriate in my opinion, for the same reason JLM gave.

His wife is dead, he has those children, as well as his new child from the fun and games
while campaigning, so he has to look at his 'first' set of children every day and know
what they are thinking when they look back at him, and that will last the rest of his life.

His wife was terminally sick, she was a good, intelligent, loyal wife who campaigned with him
twice, worked around the clock, and was also the mother of the children, she was well spoken,
and talked publicly about him on many occasions, came across very sincerely and obviously loved
him very much, then became sick, battled that problem for a long time, and I didn't notice him
supporting her in the same way, rather he took his energy to another woman, while her health she continued
to fail, till she finally passed away, what a sickening memory for those kids.

Another sad story of someone who had it all and blew it. I think people like this are often more mentally disturbed than they are evil, not to mention being totally void of empathy. Some would call it "self destructive".

Hold this man accountable for his actions. He isn't any different than the rest of us. No man is above or below the law. Now let justice take the correct path!

There are ways of punishing a man that aren't too costly, possibly even beneficial. How about a month walking the main highways picking up garbage with a sign on his back saying "My name is John Edwards and I didn't appreciate having it good".
