I left the Liberal Party because they've become too authoritarian. They want to control your life and your opinion.
They're both pretty much one and the same - Church. Independent thought is a threat. Now I'm what the two-headed snake dreads the most: The undecided voter. These twits who'd vote for a fence post if it was painted in their favoured colours are what's allowed morons to get into office. Outlaw gangs and political parties and we might get government that cares for more than profiting off selling Canada at a big loss to the States.

Jagmeet Singh has a key quality NDP leaders need – charisma.
He should prove an effective foil to Justin Trudeau’s selfie-loving “Sunny Ways” that increasingly rain on average people.
(Well yes- a certain amount of charisma seems important these days- but the REAL TEST is in the policies and Singh has aligned himself with the worst of both LIE-beral and traditional NDP ideas.)
However, Singh’s leadership also poses challenges for the NDP.
While former leader Tom Mulcair tried to move the party to the centre in the last federal election, Singh appears poised to do the opposite.
(Mulcair was the best leader- by which I mean most sensible- the NDP ever had. He was quite practical and pragmatic. But NDP still carries too much baggage for it to be a winner in Ontari-owe; the still angry home of Rae Days! And Quebec has never liked NDP with its sympathy for immigrant groups and that NDP refusal to see the `special` status and `special` needs of Quebec.)
He campaigned on a number of far-left policies that don’t resonate with everyday Canadians.
Three of his key planks were income inequality, climate change and electoral reform.
(Face it- Singh is campaigning using LIE-beral policy stolen from the last election! He has stolen policy that is IN DISGRACE amongst Cdfns!)
The first is code for more government programs and greater wealth redistribution – a direction that will stifle job growth and innovation, foster dependency and fail to lift those who most need help.
(Civil service Hogs are KEY to keeping LIE-berals in power and Singh`s stupid income re-distribution song sounds flat to them as they are the cdns with the most money and thus will be hit hardest with new taxes rather than being showered with new gravy!)
When it comes to climate issues, Singh supports innovative companies furthering the green revolution, but carbon taxes that harm regular Canadians is not the way to go.
(Sadly there are NO real solutions to environmental decay that do NOT involve BANNING select items that use fossil fuel! Govt must foster a philosophy that condemns fossil fuel use in the same way they condemn tobacco smokers! Our environment is burning- with consequences that will likely be dire! To save what`s left we must start curtailing activities that are NOT essential! Carbon taxes simply hit the poor the hardest and give govt a BIG slush fund so they can continue bribing Hogs- who also happen to have the largest carbon foot print! Biggest homes, biggest SUV`s, drive the farthest and fly the most often.)
(Those stupid bubble systems-electrically powered that are popping up in Muskoka- running ALL winter long to keep ice from freezing around costly docks should be the first thing banned as being NOT ESSENTIAL! And large riding mowers that spew more carbon in five minutes that a modern car on a highway for 30 minutes ought to be next on the hit list! Personal watercraft are fun to ride- but you can still see the lake from a canoe or rowboat. Huge cabin cruisers- those floating palaces that do 40- 50 miles per hour on twin diesels that take a thousand or more litres of fuel per fill up and require gas generators to operate their various luxuries are also NOT essential-old style cruisers puttered along at 10-15 mph max are more fuel efficient and cost a lot less to buy or operate as well!)
Carbon taxes hike the cost of living, disproportionately hurt middle class and lower income Canadians and do virtually nothing for the environment.
(Carbon taxes- as preferred by LIE-berals are in disgrace! LIE-berals modeled their Carbon crap on the European model- the one riddled with fraud, fake reporting and outright criminal activity- including stock market fraud and forged carbon credits! Carbon crap and trade cleans wallets and leaves the dirt in the air! This appears to be philosophical HOME TURF for LIE-berals! So why would Jagmeet jump on that band wagon? Unless he wants HIS sunny ways rained on?)
And as for electoral reform? Give us a break. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau wisely abandoned it because he knew it appealed to almost no one.
(Electoral reform is “politician speak” meaning: we `suckered` you into electing us this time but we fear our sunny ways will not win you over a second time so we had better RIG the electoral system in our favour by splintering parliament and letting in a horde of small-one issue parties- that will ensure that no single party ever regains control of parliament! Those in favour of electoral reform want to turn parliament into an automatic spending machine- with NO WAY of shutting off the flow of cash- regardless of our financial problems! Electoral reform is so bad that even the CBC- that media bastion of loonie leftist LIE-beral loving loons bashed it!)
Toss in Singh’s praiseworthy tweet on the passing of Fidel Castro, and he appears to be signalling a shift to the left for the NDP.
In fairness, leadership candidates go out on a limb during leadership races to attract support from disparate camps.
However, even if Singh strikes a more moderate tone going forward he’ll face a significant hurdle, particularly in Quebec, because of his background and faith.
A recent Angus Reid Institute poll found 30% of Canadians would not vote for a “political party led by a Sikh man who wears a turban and carries a kirpan” regardless of his policies.
In Quebec, the split was almost 50-50.
(It is my opinion that if Singh said the right things, then his appearance and race would be irrelevant! Cdns are very worried about what their govt is doing and are looking for a sensible saviour- and NDP philosophical retread Singh is NOT it! Not with his NDP/left wing baggage and badly worn policies!)
This is a deeply troubling because while seven out of 10 Canadians don’t care about a politicians race or religious beliefs, an unacceptable number do. In Quebec, which matters significantly for NDP fortunes, Singh faces the additional hurdle of racism.
The ebullient NDP leader is a trail-blazer who no doubt will continue to thrive while confronting stereotypical views.
(Oh? A trail blazer? But he is following a well marked path trodden by generations of failed NDP leaders! How is that unique or special?)
And while we disagree with many of his political views, he should be judged on the quality of his ideas, not because he's a Sikh or because he wears a turban.
(The great Martin Luther King spoke of his “dream” where a man is judged by his character and not his skin colour and that IS being done in Singh`s case! He has adopted the well articulated and much despised philosophy of espoused by generations of white socialists who came before him and he will have no more success than they did because although he is a fresh new political face; he HAS NO new ideas and nothing useful to offer!)
(The best that Singh can hope for in the next election is a LIE-beral/NDP alliance-with Our idiot Boy Justin telling Singh when to speak and when to sit down and shut up! But that is what happens when you steal old LIE-beral policy and blend it with failed NDP garbage- nobody will take you seriously as a leader- though Singh may get a batch of protest votes from Hogs disgusted with LIE-beral inability to honour their insane promises of unlimited gravy for Hogs!)

News flash! Rob Ford makes life easier for inhabitants of Metro Toronto Housing Authority! One of Fords first acts as newly elected mayor was to try to pressure Toronto Housing Authority to sell off some of the empty single family dwellings that they owned and which were not inhabited due to needing various repairs that made them unfit to live in-repairs that the Housing Authority could not afford to pay for. Ford wanted the empty dwellings (which cost money to secure and maintain so they would not deteriorate further) to be sold so the money from the sales could be used to repair some of the other dwellings owned by the Authority-dwellings which were also barely habitable.
I saw on the news today that the Toronto Housing Authority has FINALLY decided that Ford WAS RIGHT!!!! And they have just sold the first of as many as SEVENTY EIGHT more houses that may be put on the market in the next year! Dwellings which were dilapidated eyesores soaking up time and effort of security people will now be sold and renovated and be returned to the stock of useful housing that pays real estate tax money into city coffers……a TRUE WIN for logic and reason and a boast for city owned multi family buildings! Kudos to Ford who fought so hard for this result!!!!!

A new study by the Fraser Institute suggests Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is taking the nation’s finances down the same black hole of never-ending deficits and debt that his late father did when he was prime minister in the 1970s and early 1980s.
“Because the federal government seems to be on the road to revisiting the damaging fiscal policies of the 1970s,” Lakehead University economics Professor Livio Di Matteo warns in, A Federal Fiscal History: Canada, 1867 to 2017, “Canadians should question whether we’re embarking on another transitional period ... that, like Lester Pearson’s and Pierre Trudeau’s time in office, will lead to years of deficits and ultimately another debt crisis.”

Di Matteo says that aside from global wars and economic downturns, “the only other time the federal government kicked off a deficit spending spree and expanded the size and role of the federal government, was in the mid-1960s and 1970s under (Liberal prime ministers) Lester Pearson and then Pierre Trudeau.”
That is, Di Matteo warns, until the election of Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government in 2015.
He notes that Pierre Trudeau never once delivered a balanced budget during his 14 years as prime minister from 1969 to 1984 (interrupted only briefly by the nine-month Joe Clark Progressive Conservative government of 1979 to 1980), leaving behind a massive, for the time, $37.2 billion annual deficit in his final year in office.
Under Pierre Trudeau, Di Matteo says, government program spending skyrocketed from $12.9 billion to $84.3 billion, the net federal debt ballooned from $19.3 billion to $212.6 billion and the debt-to-GDP ratio, a key indicator of overall economic health, soared from 23% to 42.2%.
Di Matteo warns that given Justin Trudeau’s financial track record so far, he appears to be following in his father’s footsteps.
During the 2015 federal election, Trudeau promised Canadians that in order to fulfill his election promises, his government would record projected deficits of $9.9 billion in 2016-17, $9.5 billion in 2017-18, $5.7 billion in 2018-2019, and a surplus of $1 billion in 2019-2020.
He also promised that by 2019-2020, the Liberals would reduce the debt-to-GDP ratio from 30% to 27%.
But following the election, when the Liberals presented their first budget in March, 2016, Trudeau almost tripled his projected 2016-17 deficit to $29.4 billion, followed by $29 billion in 2017-18, $22.8 billion in 2018-19, $17.7 billion in 2019-20 and $14.3 billion in 2020-21.
Since then, the Trudeau Liberals have added $31.7 billion to their projected deficits and abandoned their election promises to eliminate the deficit by 2019 and to reduce the debt-to-GDP ratio to 27% by that year.
Indeed, Di Matteo notes, under Trudeau’s current fiscal plan, program spending is projected to hit $291.4 billion this year, a $40 billion increase from 2014, while the net debt of $727.5 billion this year will increase to $759.5 billion in 2017-18.
