Border officials argue B.C. man’s Facebook posts threat to Canada’s security

VANCOUVER — A British Columbia man’s Facebook posts allegedly threatening violence in support of the Islamic State group provide enough evidence to suggest he poses a security risk to Canada and should be deported, an official for the Canada Border Services Agency says.
Othman Hamdan’s lawyer has argued his client’s online views amounted to freedom of expression as guaranteed by the charter.
Randal Hyland, a hearings officer for the border services agency, told an admissibility hearing of the Immigration and Refugee Board on Monday that Hamdan’s praise and encouragement of martyrdom and so-called lone-wolf terrorist attacks mean he could incite others to commit such offences.
The Jordanian national came to Canada in 2002 after living in the United States. He was arrested at his home in Fort St. John, B.C., in 2015 and charged with multiple terrorism offences related to 85 Facebook posts.
A B.C. Supreme Court judge acquitted Hamdan last September citing insufficient evidence, but immigration authorities arrested him and have determined at 11 detention review hearings that he poses a threat to the public.
Hyland said Hamdan’s violent mindset extended beyond his views on Facebook starting in 2014, adding he lashed out at the social media giant in a letter, saying its employees would be harmed because his accounts were deleted.
He said Hamdan also told a cell mate he would attack RCMP personnel and bomb the force’s headquarters in Surrey, B.C., after officers translated his posts, which were in Arabic and English.
In May, an RCMP officer told Hamdam’s hearing about two translated Arabic posts in which Hamdan discussed infrastructure in Canada, including a dam in Revelstoke, B.C., and a bridge near Nipigon, Ont., suggesting they were weak targets.
Hyland, who made submissions on behalf of Public Safety Canada, said that despite his acquittal, Hamdan’s threats of violence should be taken seriously.
“The (public safety) minister’s position is that in total, Mr. Hamdan’s threats, online communications and other activity identified in the minister’s initial submissions are factual evidence that he would be found a danger to the security of Canada,” Hyland said.
Hamdan’s posts have also supported violence against specific groups, including Semites in Israel, people in France, and those who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual and transgender and believe in same-sex marriage, Hyland said.
“Mr. Hamdan has, and will continue to use social media to advocate and promote terrorism in support of the Islamic State (group), which is a listed terrorist entity,” he said of the group that is also known as Daesh.
Hyland’s submissions were part of the Canada Border Service Agency’s response to written submissions made by Hamdan’s lawyer, Peter Edelmann, on June 11. The written submission was not immediately available to the media.
Edelmann told the hearing Monday that the Immigration and Refugee Board’s view of his client as someone who tends to lash out doesn’t take into account that he has never acted out in jail, where there is plenty of opportunity for people to commit violence.
“The fact that somebody will engage in violence is not enough to meet the danger-to-security-in-Canada threshold,” he said. “There is a large number of people who come before this division, who pose a threat to commit acts of violence against their spouses, against their children, against random people on the street. They’re not threats to the security of Canada.”

NEW YORK — The man charged with murdering eight people on a New York City bike path and injuring many more spoke out in court Friday over a prosecutor’s objection, invoking “Allah” and defending the Islamic State.
Sayfullo Saipov, 30, raised his hand to speak immediately after U.S. District Judge Vernon S. Broderick set an Oct. 7, 2019 date for the Uzbek immigrant’s trial.
Earlier, he had pleaded not guilty through his lawyer to the latest indictment in the Oct. 31 truck attack near the World Trade Center. A prosecutor said the Justice Department will decide by the end of the summer whether to seek the death penalty against Saipov, who lived in Paterson, New Jersey, before the attack.
Speaking through an interpreter for about 10 minutes, Saipov said the decisions of a U.S. court were unimportant to him. He said he cared about “Allah” and the holy war being waged by the Islamic State.
At the prompting of Assistant U.S. Attorney Amanda Houle, Broderick interrupted Saipov to read him his rights, including that anything he said in court could be used against him.
“I understand you, but I’m not worried about that at all,” Saipov said.
“So the Islamic State is not fighting for land, like some say, or like some say, for oil. They have one purpose, and they’re fighting to impose Sharia (Islamic law) on Earth,” he said.
After Saipov spoke more, Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew Beaty interrupted him to object that the judge was letting Saipov make the kind of statement publicly that special restrictions placed on him in prison would otherwise prevent, including discussing “terrorist propaganda.”
The judge said he believed Saipov was nearing the end of his remarks and let him finish before warning him that he was unlikely to let him speak out in court again in a similar manner. Saipov, though, would be given a chance to testify if his case proceeds to trial and, if convicted, could speak at sentencing.
Saipov thanked the judge for letting him speak but added at one point: “I don’t accept this as my judge.”
Prosecutors had been seeking an April 2019 trial date. Houle said the families of the dead and the dozens who were injured deserve a “prompt and firm trial date.”
“The victims here are anxious now when that trial is going to be,” she said. “The public deserves a speedy trial, and the surviving victims deserve to know when that trial is going to be.”
Defence lawyers have said the government should accept a guilty plea and a sentence of life in prison without parole to provide victims’ families and the public with closure.
David Patton, a lawyer for Saipov, said he would need extra time to make legal challenges to the charges if death is sought. He also cited the difficulty of gathering information for the defence case overseas and in the United States.
A defence attorney said Saipov has had only telephone contact with his mother, father and sister since his arrest because they cannot get approval to travel to the United States. Prosecutors said those decisions were made by the State Department.

A long rope and a pine box is the fate awaiting a radical cleric who ordered ISIS massacres in Indonesia.
Aman Abdurrahman was sentenced to death by an Indonesian court Friday.
Abdurrahman ordered Islamic State group-affiliated jihadis to unleash terror attacks — including the January 2016 suicide bombing at a Starbucks in Jakarta.

Now, at least one expert fears the pious pied piper of death could launch a slaughter in retaliation.
“His words alone have been able to incite followers to carry out terrorism,” said Adhe Bhakti, an analyst at the Center for Radicalization and De-radicalization Studies in Jakarta.
“The security forces must raise awareness and all intelligence services in Indonesia must co-ordinate well.”

A key ISIS ideologue, Abdurrahman kneeled and kissed the floor as the five-judge panel announced his sentence. He then uttered: “Praise be to God.”
The fear factor is currently sky-high in the southeast Asian nation after suicide bombings last month in Surabaya. The sick attacks were carried out by families — with their young children in tow.
“(The defendant’s) speeches, teachings and instructions have inspired his group and followers to commit criminal acts of terrorism in Indonesia,” said presiding Judge Ahmad Zaini.

The judges said there was no reason for leniency. Abdurrahman’s lawyers have a week to file an appeal.

Counter-terrorism foiled the planned slaughter.

LONDON — An alleged Islamic State group supporter who encouraged attacks on 4-year-old Prince George of Britain has been sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 25 years.
Husnain Rashid maintained he’d done nothing wrong during the early part of his trial, but later switched his plea to guilty on four counts of preparing terrorist acts and encouraging terrorism.
The 32-year-old Rashid, a former teacher at a mosque, was accused of using the Telegram messaging site to encourage “lone wolf” attacks and to provide advice on the use of bombs, chemicals and knives.
Prosecutors said he suggested a range of attack targets, including injecting poison into supermarket ice cream and George, the oldest child of Prince William and his wife, Kate.
One post included a photo of the young prince and the address of George’s London school.

CONCORD, N.H. — A hamburger chain and a marketing company are apologizing over a tweet that featured an image of a journalist who was killed by the Islamic State group.
James Foley, of New Hampshire, was killed in 2014 after being held hostage.
WMUR-TV reports the now-deleted tweet promoting Washington, D.C.-based Z-Burger said, “When you say you want a burger and someone says okay lets hit McDonalds.” A photo of Foley moments before his death was shown under the tweet with the words, “you disgrace me.”
Z-Burger owner Peter Tabibian cut ties with the contracted marketing company, Valor Media. Michael Valor said the employee who created the tweet hadn’t heard of Foley and thought the image was from a movie.
Foley’s mother released a statement saying she looked forward to an apology.

A young couple who spent their days biking around the world was killed this Sunday in a horrific ISIS attack in Tajikistan.
The 29-year-old Georgetown graduates were riding their bikes with five other cyclists when they were attacked south of the Tajik capital Dushanbe, according to reports.
ISIS said in a statement late Monday that several of its soldiers attacked the “citizens of the Crusader coalition,” which is how the terror organization often refers to the U.S.-led coalition that is fighting it in Syria and Iraq.
The driver and the passengers got out of the vehicle and attacked the tourists with knives, leaving four dead and three injured.

Washington, D.C., couple Lauren Geoghegan and Jay Austin were among the victims.
Before their tragic deaths, Geoghegan and Austin has spent nearly a year biking through Europe, Africa and Asia. They lived extremely eco-friendly and healthy lives and regularly documented their journey on their blog, SimplyCycling.
In one of the entries, Austin wrote that one thing they’d discovered during their travels is that most people are inherently loving and kind.
“The yearlong bicycle adventure Lauren and her partner, Jay Austin, were enjoying was typical of her enthusiasm embrace of life’s opportunities, her openness to new people and places, and her quest for a better understanding of the world,” Geoghegan’s parents, Robert and Elvira, said in a statement to CBS.

Geoghegan and Austin wrote on their blog that they planned to continue their cycling journey for one, two, or three more years, as long as they still enjoyed it.
The other cyclists murdered in the attack were from Switzerland and Netherlands, foreign and Tajik officials said. The injured includes a woman from Switzerland.

ISIS killers terrified of U.S. death penalty; want trial in U.K.

Accused ISIS killers Alexanda Kotey, left, and El Shafee Elsheikh are terrified that if tried in the U.S. they will face the death penalty.
The two surviving members of the ISIS killer quartet known as “The Beatles” for their British accents are terrified their journey to jihad will end in an American death chamber.
El Shafee Elsheikh, 29, and Alexanda Kotey, 34, were captured in Syria in January after ISIS fled its former pulverized capital, Raqqa.
The duo along with two other Brits called notorious executioner Jihadi John as their “friend.”
Mohammed Emwazi, AKA ISIS executioner Jihadi John.
But the smirking duo are hoping to be extradited back to the UK.
They are currently behind held in the U.S. and if convicted face a date with the executioner in an American prison.
Mohammed “Jihadi John” Emwazi was obliterated in a 2015 allied air strike. The sick executioner was responsible for the beheadings of aid workers David Haines and Alan Henning along with scores of others.
The twisted proceedings were broadcast.
“I took a position of not speaking of him at all in a negative way,” Kotey told the BBC, then whined, “what makes the British government want a British citizen to be tried in America?”
Mohammed Emwazi, AKA ISIS executioner Jihadi John.
The duo are moaning that their human rights are being denied to them.
According to The UK Sun, the quartet allegedly mutilated, beheaded and crucified at least 27 captives of ISIS. They also tortured scores more.
But it’s unlikely the pair will ever see England again.

Home Secretary Sajid Javid had earlier said he wanted to see El Shafee Elsheikh and Kotey tried in the U.S.
“Getting enough evidence to be confident of a conviction at home is difficult, so our preference is to leave them there,” one diplomat told the Daily Telegraph. “Basically it is a bit of hot potato that we want to make sure we’re not left holding.”

The ISIS death cult is even too bloodthirsty for the Taliban.
During secret talks between the Taliban and the United States, the Afghans have asked for American help in ridding the country of ISIS, according to The Times of London.
The talks have produced “very positive signals”, the newspaper said. A Taliban called the discussions “friendly”.

Now, the Taliban are launching a major offensive to drive ISIS out of one of their last redoubts.
They want the U.S. to stop airstrikes in Nangarhar so they don’t kill Taliban fighters attempting to flush out the terrorists.
According to the fabled British newspaper, the request comes as the Taliban and U.S. engage in peace talks following an Eid ceasefire last year.
Taliban forces plan on hitting three ISIS areas next week with fighting expected to last several weeks spearheaded by their Red Unit.

“The Red Unit commando fighters will participate in the Nangarhar operation. They are already fighting against IS in other eastern provinces,” a member told The Times.
“You can’t call it peace talks … These are a series of meetings for initiating formal and purposeful talks. We agreed to meet again soon and resolve the Afghan conflict through dialogue,” the Taliban source told The Times.

Last month, U.S. special forces wiped out a major ISIS stronghold in Afghanistan killing 167 militants with no friendly casualties.
Sources said that following the obliteration of the ISIS caliphate, the terror group has been trying to colonize Afghanistan.

Ex-ISIS slave escapes Germany after confrontation with former captor

Ashwaq Ta’lo. (Facebook)
A teenage Yazidi girl who was once an ISIS slave has moved to Iraq after having a confrontation with her former captor in Germany.
According to Russian news outlet RT, Ashwaq Ta’lo had sought asylum in Stuggart, Germany where she had an unexpected encounter with Abu Human, a Syrian guard from ISIS who had enslaved her after purchasing her for $100. The alleged confrontation happened as she walked home one day in Stuttgart.
In an interview with Kurdish news agency Bas News, Ta’lo said she froze dead in her tracks once she looked at his face.
“It was Abu Humam, with the same scary beard and ugly face,” she told Bas News.
According to Ta’lo, her ex-captor said he remembered her time with him while in Mosul, Iraq. Ta’lo said Humam threatened her.
“And I know where you live, with whom you live, and what you are doing,” she recalled him saying.
The woman stated she told her brother about her ordeal with Humam. Her kin reported the ex-captor to German police, but Humam couldn’t be arrested because like Ta’lo he was also a registered refugee.
“I will never go back,” the teen said of leaving Germany. Ta’lo thinks she’ll be safer living in Kurdistan.

Nadia Murad, a former ISIS sex slave, has married her knight in shining armour: former US Army interpreter Abid Shamdeen, who she credits with helping her heel.FACEBOOK
A courageous woman who was held as a sex slave by ISIS extremists has married her knight in shining armour — the U.S. Army interpreter who helped her heal.
Former Yazidi sex slave Nadia Murad — gang-raped by death cult fanatics — was kidnapped by the monsters from her northern Iraq village in 2014.
The gutsy woman jumped over the garden wall of her master’s house in ISIS redoubt Mosul and made her way to Germany where she was offered asylum.
Now, Mirad’s journey of despair has come full circle and she has married Abid Shamdeen, a former US Army interpreter.
She took to Twitter to reveal her big news.
“Yesterday was a special day for @AbidShamdeen & I. We are very thankful and humbled for all the wishes & support from our family & friends,” she wrote. “The struggle of our people brought us together & we will continue this path together. Thank you for your support everyone!”
Shamdeen added: “We met during very difficult times in both our lives but we managed to find love while fighting a huge fight.”
It was her now husband who helped Murad overcome the horrors of war.
Now in her mid-20s, Murad was one of 7,000 women and girls captured by ISIS sickos who viewed the Yazidis as devil worshippers.
Most of the men in her village were slaughtered by ISIS monsters, including five of her eight brothers and her mother.
United Nations officials estimated more than 5,000 were murdered by ISIS who engaged in genocide against her people.
Murad was a sex slave belonging to a high-ranking Islamic State judge named Hajji Salma.
He told the terrified young woman: “You’re my fourth sabiyya (sex slave). The other three are Muslim now. I did that for them. Yazidis are infidels — that’s why we are doing this. It’s to help you.”
At one point, on the orders of her “owner”, she was gang-raped by six ISIS fanatics.
Murad now lives in Germany where she campaigns on behalf of the Yazidi.

Captured Canadian jihadi encouraged others to join ISIS

Canadian ISIS jihadi Muhammad Ali, 28, has been captured.TWITTER
ISIS fighter Muhammad Ali wanted to return to his Toronto home.
According to Global News, Ali, 28, was nabbed by Kurdish forces four months ago as he tried to slip out of Syria and into safety in Turkey.
Now, the former Ryerson University student is being held by U.S.-backed Syrian forces in a prison in northeastern Syria.
Ali — whose nom de guerre was Abu Turaab Al-Kanadi — left Toronto in 2014 to join the death cult, and encouraged others online to do the same and commit acts of terror in their home countries.
ISIS jihadi Muhammad Ali, right, and his little buddy Andre Poulin from Timmins.
His Canadian wife — former Vancouver resident Rida Jabbar — and their Syrian-born children are also being detained.
The case of Ali poses a tricky problem for the Trudeau government: What to do with ISIS terrorists who are Canadian.
Global News reports that there are currently about a dozen other Canadian members of the death cult being held captive. Local authorities want them sent home.
The Mounties are reportedly struggling to bring terrorism charges against Canadians who fled for the virgins and honeycake ISIS caliphate.
Abdulkarim Omar, co-chair of Foreign Affairs for the Democratic Self-Administration of North Syria, told Global his organization has met with Canadian diplomats.
“There was a dialogue with the Canadian government via the Canadian consulate in Beirut,” he told Global.
“We had a meeting in Sulaymaniyah and there were some good steps and we filled application forms, and then suddenly the Canadian government stopped this process and we don’t know why.”
So far, Ali has not been charged, but according to Islamic State documents, he joined the terror group on April 24, 2014. His ISIS enlistment indicated he asked to be a fighter.
On social media accounts, he boasted he was a “soldier” in ISIS.
“Everyone will die eventually. It’s inevitable,” he wrote. “Best to go out fighting for what you believe in.”
Among his other boasts were playing soccer with severed heads and his belief that homosexuals “should be killed.” Ali cheered terror attacks on Canadian soldiers in Quebec and Ottawa.
“If you are unable to make hijra (travel abroad), know that you have permission to strike them in their lands. Kill a kaffir (non-believer) and secure you (sic) place in Jannah (heaven),” one of his posts read.
Meanwhile, ISIS may be down with its caliphate being pulverized by allied airstrikes, but the group wants its 30,000 fanatical followers to unleash bloodshed in the West.
According to the Institute for the Study of War, the wacky jihadis have smuggled nearly $500 million out of Iraq and are now turning to drug trafficking to raise money.
“ISIS version two is coming. Two or three years ago, we saw British and European jihadis returning to Syria and Iraq in droves because ISIS was collapsing,” terror expert Olivier Guitta told the U.K. Sun.
He added: “ISIS is the McDonald’s of terrorism. They say, ‘We don’t care who you are, as long as you come and buy our product.’ They will take anyone and everyone.”

“A Canadian is a Canadian.” — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau
And some Canadians would be quite fine with blowing this lot of us to smithereens.
At least a dozen Canadians have been captured fighting for ISIS in Syria and Iraq and the government seems inclined to rehabilitate them. More than 190 are guesstimated to have gone abroad to fight or offer comfort.

ISIS executioner narrating mass slaughter a Canadian: Captured terrorist

The sickening scenario that saw ISIS executing prisoners over their freshly dug graves has a distinctive Canadian twist.
Global News reports that the executioner is likely a Canadian man who is possibly from the Toronto area.
The video released by the death cult on Sept. 19, 2014 featured an executioner with a Canadian-sounding accent.
“Yup, it’s another Canadian,” Muhammed Ali, an ISIS member from Mississauga, told Global News in an exclusive interview at a Syrian prison.

Ali is being held by Kurdish fighters and said the killer went by the alias Abu Rudwan and was likely in his 20s at the time of the mass murder.
“Abu Rudwan is alive,” Ali said. “Maybe he’s dead now, I don’t know. Last I saw him he was alive.”
The Canadian killer was allegedly a full-time member of ISIS’s propaganda arm.
In the ISIS murder porn, the man aimed a handgun at a prisoner kneeling at the edge of his grave. Then the killer put a bullet in the back of the man’s head.
The FBI posted a portion of the video a month later. The G-Men said the “subject in the video has what is believed to be a North American accent.”
In the video, one man narrates while the other does the butchering.

But Global reporter Stewart Bell notes that there has been speculation a Canadian man has also been narrating recruitment videos for the terror group.
That voice also hovers over videos celebrating ISIS’s catalogue of horrors.
Four years ago, the group released a video called Flames of War. The narrator is masked and is clearly a North American, putting the FBI and RCMP on his trail.
That ominous voice was also heard as ISIS boasted of its role in the Paris terror attack in November 2015 that left 130 dead and countless others wounded.
“People actually don’t realize he’s Canadian,” Ali told Global News. “A Canadian would know he’s Canadian. Anyone else would be like, where is he from? He’s Australian.”

Since the US and NATO funded and fully supported ISIS he is a 'faithful Canadian soldier. working for the West in their attempt to take Syria. Perhaps he should open up about how he was 'drafted'.

U.K. 'Hate Preacher' Choudary's release from jail 'repugnant'

The outspoken British ‘Hate Preacher’ turned notorious Islamic State cheerleader has been released from prison after serving just half his sentence.
Anjem Choudary, 51, left the high-security Belmarsh prison in southeast London Friday morning but will be subject to strict supervision.
Prime Minister Theresa May says authorities are equipped to supervise Choudary, who had been sentenced to 5 and a half years in prison. He was jailed for supporting ISIS in 2016.

He will live for the time being in a London probation hostel, but Choudary’s new neighbours aren’t rolling out the welcome wagon.
“I think it is disgusting that he is here and freed so early given what he is responsible for,” a neighbour told the Daily Mail.
“It is repugnant to think that this man who inspired terrorists is now living here.”
Another man, who works in the Camden neighbourhood, was equally furious.
“It is sickening knowing he is so close,” the man said. “They should find another place for him away from the community.”

He added: “If he hates this country so much, he should be deported.”
Among the conditions of his release:
— Choudary must wear an electronic tag, follow a nighttime curfew, and can’t contact any terror cronies.
— His name has also been added to a UN sanctions list, meaning his assets can be frozen and he can be barred from travelling.
For years, Choudary was the face of radical Islam in the U.K., leading a slew of groups including Islam4Uk (which sought to bring in Shariah law) and Muslims Against Crusades.
A number of killers took their inspiration from the twisted preacher, including the two men who stabbed and tried to decapitate British soldier Lee Rigby on the streets.

Choudary also protested outside the U.S. embassy on the anniversary of 9/11, burned poppies on Remembrance Day, and performed a litany of other hate-filled hijinks.
But he ran into trouble in 2014 after his name appeared on an oath circulating online that declared the legitimacy of the “proclaimed Islamic Caliphate State.” Choudary said the oath was made without his knowledge.
A former head of counter-terror policing, Mark Rowley, told the BBC that while Choudary was a “significant arrest,” it would be prudent not to overstate his significance.
“At the end of the day, he is a pathetic groomer of others,” Rowley said. “That is what he has done in the past. He is not some sort of evil genius we all need to be afraid of.”

Families of ISIS extremists demanding feds bring them home

And I’m sorry and everything.
A group representing the families of suspected ISIS jihadis, other extremists and their hangers-on wants the government to repatriate 16 Canadians being held in detention camps, Global News reports.
Called the Families Against Violent Extremism (FAVE), the group says the Canadians are being held in northern Syria, adding that nine of the 16 are adults while the others were children under six.
“Winter is drawing in, leaving these children in tents in the bitter cold,” a statement obtained by Global said.
“The children go hungry, lack adequate clothing, and are traumatized by violence. Many are sick without adequate medical care, and lack basic educational opportunity.”
Kurdish forces have captured several Canadians accused of being ISIS fighters while the women are wives of the death cult’s foreign fighters.
The group states that none of the 16 detained have been charged with terror offences and that their captivity was violating international law.
The issue of returning extremists has created a minefield for the government.
While other countries — including the United Kingdom — have kiboshed any hope of suspected jihadis ever returning, Canada’s virtue signalling on the file has put the Liberal government in a pickle.
It is suspected ISIS enthusiast and Ottawa-born John Maguire has been taken off the board.
On Tuesday, the House passed an opposition motion giving the government six weeks to come up with a strategy for bringing ISIS members to justice.
Now, FAVE has slated a news conference for Tuesday in Ottawa to “announce plans to likewise help Global Affairs fulfill their duty to provide support to Canadians in dire straits abroad.”
Meanwhile, Global is reporting that Islamic State has a harsh warning for foreign fighters who want to go home.
Don’t.
“Despite our continuous warnings to our brothers (especially al-muhajireen [foreign fighter] brothers) not to leave the lands of the Caliphate for any reason in such difficult times, some of them chose this path which only leads to a harmful destiny,” the group said, according to one Middle East watchdog.
According to the Middle East Media Research Institute, the warning underscores reports that Islamic State has been hit by a wave of defections, desertions and even mutinies from foreign fighters.
Kurdish forces claim they have captured nearly 900 foreign ISIS fighters, 500 of their wives and 1,000 children.

You seem to abandoning the proxy army that was hired to take Syria so it could be 'modernized' like Libya is today.

Why do you keep trying to pretend ISIS was not working for the US the same as Saddam was in his war against Iran, nobody will be convinved and you are the one that ends up being the extremist in the room.
