President Barack Obama has ruled out deploying US ground troops in Syria and says military efforts alone cannot solve the country's problems.

"It would be a mistake for the United States, or Great Britain... to send in ground troops and overthrow the [Bashar al-] Assad regime," he told the BBC.

He also said he did not think so-called Islamic State would be defeated in his last nine months of office.

ISIS beheads suspected enemy, then the mistaken informant

ISIS thugs beheaded a man who they believed was a supporter of Bashar Assad's Syrian regime, then they learned he wasn't. So they also beheaded the informant who turned him in.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said both men were executed by sword in front of dozens of people, including children.
The first man was brought up on charges of co-operating with the Syrian government, tried and found guilty, according to the human rights group.
It wasn't until after his execution that new evidence came to light.
That's when they charged the informant with "providing false evidences about a person's co-operating with the regime and causing his execution."

Try to take into consideration. That this is all done in the name of the Quran, so children watching this are being totally brainwashed into belief.

California school recalls yearbook that calls Muslim girl 'Isis'
Alex Dobuzinskis, Reuters
First posted: Monday, May 09, 2016 06:45 PM EDT | Updated: Monday, May 09, 2016 06:52 PM EDT
LOS ANGELES - A California high school has asked students to return nearly 300 yearbooks that wrongly identified a Muslim teenager wearing a traditional headscarf as "Isis," officials said on Monday.
The yearbook photo of Bayan Zehlif, a student at Los Osos High in Rancho Cucamonga who is seen smiling above a caption with the name "Isis Phillips," came to light after she posted a picture of it on social media on Friday.
The Los Angeles Times reported that District Superintendent Matthew Holton said Zehlif was incorrectly identified as another student whose name really is Isis. Reuters could not reach Holton for comment.
Nearly 300 yearbooks were distributed to students before the erroneous photo caption was discovered, said representatives for the Chaffey Joint Union High School District, which oversees the school about 45 miles (70 km) east of Los Angeles.
School officials asked students who received those yearbooks to return them so they could be corrected with a sticker affixing the student's correct name to the photo.
Officials at the school, which has more than 3,000 students, had withheld the majority of the yearbooks and those also are being fixed, representatives said.
The student has disputed contentions from school officials that the caption was a "misprint." Muslim advocacy group the Council on American-Islamic Relations has said the incident should be investigated for any possible bias.
ISIS, a name often used to refer to the militant group Islamic State that controls swathes of Iraq and Syria, has claimed responsibility for attacks in Paris and Brussels and a number of other countries.
Last year, a couple said by U.S. authorities to have been inspired by Islamic State killed 14 people at a holiday party in San Bernardino, which is less than 20 miles (32 km) from Rancho Cucamonga. They later died in a shootout with police.
Hussam Ayloush, executive director of the Los Angeles chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said in a statement over the weekend the organization and the student's family were worried about the girl's safety as a result of being falsely labeled as a member of ISIS.

Muslim student 'hurt' after being misidentified as 'Isis' in yearbook
The Associated Press
First posted: Tuesday, May 10, 2016 08:03 AM EDT | Updated: Tuesday, May 10, 2016 10:04 AM EDT
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. -- A Muslim high school student who was mistakenly identified in her Southern California yearbook as "Isis Phillips" says she's hurt not only by the error, but by her classmates who blasted her for denouncing it.
Bayan Zehlif, a 17-year-old high school senior, said at a news conference with Muslim community advocates on Monday that she found it "coincidental" that she was mistaken for a girl whose name is widely associated with a terror group.
"Seeing the yearbook really hurt, but seeing my classmates go against me like that hurt even more," she told reporters at the offices of the Council on American-Islamic Relations in Anaheim, Calif.
Mat Holton, Chaffey Joint Union High School District superintendent, said in a statement that Zehlif was misidentified as another student with the first name of Isis.
The other student, who no longer attends Los Osos High School, also was misidentified in the yearbook on a facing page, Holton said.
"The families of both students were immediately contacted and offered a sincere apology," and another apology was offered at a second meeting Monday with Holton and the school principal, he said.
Yearbook distribution has been halted until the error is fixed, and those who already received them have been asked to return them.
He said an investigation is being conducted.
"If it is found that a student acted irresponsibly and intentionally, administration will take appropriate actions," he said.
Zehlif said she didn't personally know Isis Phillips, but she has heard a girl with that name had attended the school in Rancho Cucamonga. The mix-up occurred on a candid photo, and her class photo lists her name correctly, she said.
Zehlif posted a photo on Facebook of herself in a hijab with the name "Isis Phillips" underneath it as it appears in the yearbook.
Zehlif is not returning to school for now out of fear of the backlash from some of her classmates, but hopes to attend graduation next week as her relatives from Jordan have travelled for the ceremony, she said.
Bayan Zehlif, 17, speaks during a news conference in Anaheim, Calif., on May 9, 2016. Zehlif posted a photo on Facebook of what she says is her picture with the name "Isis Phillips" underneath it in the Los Osos High School yearbook. She writes in the post that she's "extremely saddened, disgusted, hurt and embarrassed." (AP Photo/Chris Carlson)

'Crucifixions' and flogging men for listening to music among ISIS atrocities in Libya: report
Maggie Michael, THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
First posted: Wednesday, May 18, 2016 09:33 AM EDT | Updated: Wednesday, May 18, 2016 02:53 PM EDT
CAIRO -- A leading international rights group on Wednesday released a report documenting atrocities by Libya's Islamic State affiliate -- including instances of "crucifixions" and shooting a man to death for "cursing God" -- in the coastal city of Sirte, a stronghold of the militants.
Human Rights Watch recounts "scenes of horror" that followed the city's seizure by IS militants in February 2015, with beheadings of dozens of residents accused of being spies or sorcerers.
Men were flogged for acts such as smoking or listening to music, and fathers were ordered to "marry off their daughters" to the group's fighters as IS spread a wave of terror among the townspeople.
The 41-page HRW report entitled "'We Feel We Are Cursed': Life under ISIS in Sirte, Libya," is based on interviews with 45 Sirte residents conducted by the New York-based group in March. The residents were among the two thirds of the city's 80,000-strong population that fled after Islamic State overran Sirte.
The militant branch, more known for its spread in Iraq and Syria, gained a foothold in Libya amid the chaos that engulfed the country since the ouster and killing of the longtime autocratic leader Moammar Gadhafi in 2011.
IS managed to exploit the turmoil as political rivalries left Libya torn between rival governments, parliaments, and myriad of militias backing either side. Its spread triggered fears in Europe at the prospects of the continent being separated from a permanent IS base in Libya only by a relatively small stretch of the Mediterranean Sea.
"While the world's attention is focused on atrocities in Syria and Iraq, ISIS is also getting away with murder in Libya," said Letta Tayler, a senior terrorism and counterterrorism researcher at HRW, using an alternative acronym for the Islamic State group.
U.S. military experts estimated in April that the Islamic State group has up to 6,000 fighters in Libya. However, Libyan military intelligence officials have told HRW that the affiliate's numbers are up to 1,800 -- 70% of whom are foreigners. Estimates by other Libyan security analysts put the number of IS fighters in the country at 3,000. Some fighters were originally migrants who came to Libya's coastal cities in hopes of crossing into Europe by sea -- risky journeys that have claimed thousands of lives in the past years -- but then became stuck in Libya and joined the militants.
In running Sirte, HRW said IS gave homes and all the goods seized from residents who fled to its fighters.
Sirte, the birthplace of Gadhafi, was among cities worst hit by a wave of retaliatory attacks, lootings, and killings that followed the dictator's ouster. This also helped IS find a haven among those disillusioned by Libya's post-Gadhafi governments.
Along with witness accounts, the HRW report also offered a glimpse into what life under IS has been like in Sirte.
After taking the city, IS handed out a 13-point charter or rulebook and seized public funds. In return for personal safety, residents had to comply with its rulings, based on the group's harsh interpretation of Islamic law, or Sharia.
Sirte's central Martyrs' Square was transformed into a stage for public extrajudicial killings -- including beheadings by a sword -- for a wide variety of offences.
If the group killed someone accused of "cursing God," that person's family would not even be allowed to bury his body because he was denounced by IS as an "infidel." Also, IS reportedly had a hit list of 130 names, mostly of government officials, police, and other loyalists.
Women were forced to cover up and wear the conservative black head-to-toe cloak known as abbaya from the age of 10, and were not allowed to leave home without a male guardian. IS established a religious police that fined offenders up to $116 and flogged male relatives for not acting as proper guardians to their women. Many mothers covered up their daughters younger than 10 years, as a precaution and for fear of the militants.
IS also imposed the "zakat" or religious tax, something enforced in other IS-controlled territories and even by its rival al-Qaida group. Farmers were forced to hand over to IS one out of every 10 sheep and one out of every five camels.
The HRW report comes just days after the United States and other Western countries threw their support behind Libya's newly formed and U.N.-brokered government, saying they would supply the government with weapons to counter the Islamic State.
The move is also seeking to end the power struggle that started in 2014 between a Tripoli-based parliament and the country's internationally-recognized assembly, seated in eastern Libya.
But while the step could boost the U.N.-brokered government's efforts to consolidate power and regain control over Libyan state institutions like the central bank and national oil company, it also comes with risks -- not least of which is that the arms could end up in hands of IS or militias in a country already awash with weapons.

This story has been corrected to show that HRW interviews were conducted in March, not last year.

"the country's internationally-recognized assembly, seated in eastern Libya."
(from the above quote)
that's the bunch that created an oil bourse for their stolen oil, and a foreign owned debt based central bank, which replaces the one planned by Gahdaffi, which would have been a gold backed real money bank...
that would be the isis that the us installed:

"Hillary Clinton’s Emails Confirm The “Real Agenda” Behind the US-NATO War on Libya
U.S. Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton and her email prove that the Obama and Sarkozy administrations wanted Libya’s oil, gold and silver under their control with their puppets (or terrorists) in place after Gaddafi was removed from power. ISIS executes 25 men by lowering them in a massive vat of acid

ISIS executed 25 alleged spies in Mosul by lowering them into a huge vat of nitric acid, according to several news reports.
A witness to the gruesome killings told IraqiNews.com that each man was tied up with a rope then "lowered in the tub ... until the victim's organs dissolved."
Nitric acid is a highly corrosive mineral acid used in fertilizer and rocket fuel, and also used for etching steel. Even a drop will burn through skin and requires instant treatment.
The brutal executions appear to be a new way ISIS is attempting to keep control of its conquered citizens through fear -- even as its conquered territories shrink through several recent military loses.
Known for beheading and crucifying enemies and alleged spies, the Islamic State appears to be desperately trying to keep its caliphate together in any way possible.
"They are looking for ways to start to regain their momentum or regain the initiative," Army Gen. Joseph Votel, commander of U.S. Central Command, told reporters this week.
Votel said the suicide bombings and other attacks in and around Baghdad over the past week, killing more than 200 civilians, show how rapidly momentum and tactics can change. On Tuesday, suicide bombers struck outdoor markets and a restaurant in Baghdad, killing at least 69 people.

That'll be quite a shock to the ISIS-is-winning-because-Obama-wants-to-destroy-Murka crowd.

ISIS should get a list of countries that the US has no vested interest in because they always pick a place where the US Military is sure to show up. How much of a 'bad penny' do you have to be to keep picking the wrong places to invade? Then they have to recruit and that is expensive so then they need to take more. It will lead to a vicious cycle with no happy ending.

Doctor hacked to death by motorcyle-riding militants in ISIS-claimed attack: Police

DHAKA - Machete-wielding assailants hacked to death a village doctor and wounded a university teacher in Bangladesh on Friday, in what police suspected was the latest in a series attacks by Islamists in the majority-Muslim nation.
The attackers rode a motorcycle, which they used to block the victims' motorcycle in the western district of Kushtia, 150 miles (245 km) from Dhaka, said district police chief Mohammad Sahabuddin Chowdhury.
The homeopathic doctor, Mir Sanaur Rahman, 55, was killed on the spot, and his companion, identified as Saifuzzaman, 45, suffered serious wounds. Police found a bloody machete at the scene.
"We suspect Islamist militants are behind the attack," Chowdhury said.
Over the past year, the South Asian nation of 160 million has seen a surge of attacks on atheist bloggers, academics, members of religious minorities and foreign aid workers.
The doctor was on his way to a weekly free clinic he operated when he was attacked.
Chowdhury said police were checking whether the victims had any particular enemies or if other factors could have been a motive but media reported associates of the doctor saying he had a reputation for progressive views.
Friends of the wounded university teacher said he too was known for being progressive-minded.
The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the killing, the U.S.-based monitoring service SITE said, quoting the militant group's Amaq news agency.
Members of Islamic State have claimed responsibility for some attacks, including the killings of two foreigners last year, and a university professor and a Hindu last month. Al-Qaida in the Indian Subcontinent has claimed some of he attacks.
The government has denied that Islamic State or al-Qaida groups have a presence in the country and says home-grown Islamists are responsible for the wave of attacks.

According to the Bangladesh newspaper the Daily Star, Tamim Chowdhury, who goes by the name Shaykh Abu Ibrahim Al-Hanif, is leading a group of militants in Bangladesh closely linked to Daesh, also known as ISIS or ISIL.

Chowdhury, identified as “Bangladeshi-Canadian” by the Daily Star report, is originally from Windsor, according to Amarnath Amarasingam, a post-doctoral fellow in the Resilience Research Centre at Dalhousie University and expert on international terrorism.

“He was definitely from Windsor. I spoke to a few people who knew him from the city. But not much else is known about him,”
Amarasingam said in an email.

The Windsor Islamic Association said they could not confirm if Chowdhury was heading a Daesh-affiliate in Bangladesh.

“We can confirm that Tamim Chowdhury was from Windsor, though he was not a well-known individual in the community,” WIA spokesperson Lina Chaker said.

The report comes at a time when Daesh and similar Islamic extremist groups have claimed responsibility for a wave of violence in Bangladesh, including the high-profile killing ofa university professor in April and a string of attacks on religious and secular figures this week — with several victims hacked to death in the street.

The Bangladeshi government maintains Daesh has no presence in the country.

Though Chowdhury spends most of the interview boasting about his group’s strength in Bangladesh, he also makes mention of its “lack of numbers” and “lack of military strength.”

The interview, which runs over eight pages, makes no mention of Canada.

Those in Windsor who knew Chowdhury are shocked by the news, Amarasingam said.

“One of his friends described him as a nice guy who was generally pretty shy. He couldn’t believe it when I told him the news,” he said.
