Tallooa has stated that she doesn't believe in god, the devil, sin or the bible and you give her a two thousand word lecture on how to read the bible to prove sin exists. What planet are you living on? Why would anybody who thinks the bible is a bunch of nonsense want to read the damn thing?

The greatest trick the devil accomplished was convincing humans that he was god. The Satan of the bible positively looks like a kind and gentle soul compared to your god.
You can't count very well can you? Why would anybody who doesn't believe in the Bible (and all the subjects it covers) read it or visit any thread on the subject. Like this one it shows that you have your own axe to grind against any/all believers.

The OP was about a certain verse, the question wasn't about if the Bible was real, it was about that specific set of words. A non believer, such as you two are posting nothing to do with any answer.

The greatest trick attributed to Satan is to convince people he doesn't exist. That is a long way from your misguided version. lol

Nice to know someone 'heard' me, and 'understood' me, it really wasn't difficult.
It wasn't hard to understand your post, what is hard to understand is why post something that doesn't even touch the original question or why you post in threads that you consider total bull. Is it some sort of feeble attempt to dismiss the Bible entirely just because it's contend is beyond your grasp? In Cliffy's case it is more a fanatical struggle against all things deemed 'religious'.

You are welcome. Some people seem to live in another reality... hell most people do.
Do you consider yourself the beacon of truth and understand in a world gone mad?

Well do you have a spare 28954 seconds?? Drizzly subject at times.

It should be possible for our sun to appear black just when we cross the exact central plane (most stars in a single line). I have a hard time seeing that sort of event as being associated with God. It was 'discovered' long, long ago. God only determined His version as late as 92AD.

God's arrival would have to come from the area we call the void (180deg from galactic centerline). Coming from someplace that all eyes are on is not coming in like a thief in the night. From that location anyday is quite possible as the starting day.
A black hole would make a wonderful prison for Satan (and all like minded)don't you agree?

In the hijack dept did you ever read the Prairie Boys and the Banksters? A little indepth investigation into the legal system might turn up something just as 'entertaining'. A large enough script might be miniseries material. This article is somewhat dated, I'll try to find an update if you would like.

Forget the black hole MHZ, it's a sick invention not even as real as daffy duck and it's been perpetrated all this time to obscure real science and thereby suppress human development, but the great alignment of 2012 is as real as it gets. Who knows what will transpire? I'll see if I can find that material you've mentioned.

I never try to convince anyone of anything concerning religion, I have my
views, and I respect the fact that it is the same for everyone.

If you dismiss my thoughts as useless and unnecessary in this thread, why did
you bother posting back, it's a free country, I will post where I want.

Do you consider yourself the beacon of truth and understand in a world gone mad
Everyone's thoughts are 'their' own truth, I would never consider myself, in such
an arrogant manner, perhaps that is your department.

Can you 'not' just accept the fact that I or anyone else like myself, is happy,
and satisfied and content with my thoughts concerning god or no god.
It's not difficult, just as you must be happy with your position on the subject,
and I am not going to challenge your position, be as you want to be, and live
your life as you must, and so shall I.

Not at all, believers are people with a certain direction in life, that is their
preogrative, I respect that. no axe to grind at all
I just made a point that 'in my thought process', there is no devil, no sins, (people make mistakes,) have to correct them, suffer for them, and move on,
no confession to a god, but maybe to the person whom they hurt, etc. I don't
use the word sin, because it is a religious saying, doesn't apply to me, and I
don't relate to that word. I am not going to be judged by anyone after I die,
I know in my heart that won't happen. The hardest thing you have to realize
is that, I am who I am, and you telling me what will happen to me is a waste
of time, you are just talking to yourself, all of that jibber jabber about my
ancestors and my children, IS WHAT YOU BELIEVE, not I. You are just preaching.
As I go through each day of my life, god, devil, judgement, etc., doesn't even
enter my mind, and you telling me that something will happen to me after I
die, is something you don't even know, but you believe, so be it, life goes on
and we all go through it, I am happy to know that when I die I will go into
this earth, from where I came, and spend eternity there, I also don't believe
in a soul, so nothing will leave my body and float away anywhere, I love my
earth, and will be happy to join it again someday, not too soon I hope, not
ready yet, lots to do yet.
If you had of just accepted my statement that I don't believe in the devil, etc, instead of writing me a book on the subject, our conversation would have stopped way
back there, you decided to make a bil deal out of it, so here we are, what's
next, a knock on the door? ooooooh spooooky, it might be the guy with the
red suit and pitch fork, well, maybe on Oct 31.;-)

Besides a permanent place would be more appropriate.

The alignment is no big secret. And it is all hype, no great enlightenment will invade the minds of men. More likely a few will get rich the same wat the Y2K computer phobia ran, it the end id was just fear mongering that netted somebody some coin.

Suppress human development??? The existence of Satan (and his preferred ways) has done much in the progress of this world. Unfortunately most of the new hardware was for inflicting pain and punishment on some sectors of society. With no devil or evil involved that should be the way everybody operates. Why should one small section get to do whatever they want to whoever but be 'protected' from having those same things done to them?

If murder an causing mayhem is the way to the top (and God is a figment) then that is what should be practiced by every last human alive.

Edit to add. In the passing of the solar plane, should you look toward the light or hope that you are where it will be night-time to avoid the blindness side-effect?

Should a person look to the light or hope it comes in the dead of night so the forever blind side-effect is avioded?

Prairieboys

Do any of the participants act in a dishonorable fashion yet still wind up with the prize. If no crimes were committed that form of behavior should be considered normal for that particular place and time.

I never try to convince anyone of anything concerning religion, I have my
views, and I respect the fact that it is the same for everyone.

So then the 'correct answer' to the question of the thread title is not which of the two would be the most lokely but that neither cause both are fictional. My only reason in any reply was why post if the question is just dismissed. Even with no belief in God or Satan the book still has an 'answer for that question'. That is the part I was trying to press home. According to Scripture alone who was it?

If you dismiss my thoughts as useless and unnecessary in this thread, why did you bother posting back, it's a free country, I will post where I want.
Simple because you dismissed any sort of answer and went straight to stating that the Bible was a book of total fraud, people, places, events, etc.
Not that you are the only one.
So why post on religious threads if religion has no meaning to you other than it is fraudulent? It would be like me trolling SJP about how his view on how ignorant God is because of His view of homosexuality in the OT. No matter how mant times the actual verses are shown that it is no worse than any other type of adultery he rants on and on and on about how God calls for their death. At best his view is a broken record. How is yours in the religious dept any different?

Everyone's thoughts are 'their' own truth, I would never consider myself, in such an arrogant manner, perhaps that is your department.
In this specific case the 'truth' would be what the Bible says about who would it most likely fit. Is it arrogant to see one verse and relate how it is part of a 'whole set' of other verse all of which adds detail to how God feels about some event of human condition.

So why the 'standard answer' for religious threads (and I'm not totally sure this is 100% correct because I don't follow your posting habits). It's all fakery and I hold the truth, there is no truth in the Bible and all charactors are fictional, when the question is quite specific that it deals with just a few verses.

It is said that god is permanent and all knowing it is also said that the universe is permanent and all knowing the two are one, there is only the one. Progress is perspective dependent so the progress of evil is regress the regress of evil is progress. I think about progress as a struggle to reunite with the originator or the one and in doing so to become one with god(the universe). So all discovery aids in the journey, some humans don't want to make the trip and therefore obscure discovery and thereby delay the inevitable meeting with the one (the universe) those negative types are absolutely necessary for the trip of the positive types.

"The alignment is no big secret. And it is all hype, no great enlightenment will invade the minds of men. More likely a few will get rich the same wat the Y2K computer phobia ran, it the end id was just fear mongering that netted somebody some coin."
Y2k was man made, not much do with the physical universe really. Just the discovery of the alignment is enlightenment in itself and its perfection will definitely be enlightening, to what extent I cannot say, but the potential is not a figment of imagination. The physical manifestations of this alignment may indeed mean the end of an old age and the beginning of a new.

Where would we be without Satan? Try and imagine what we owe to him/it. Without Satan there would be no interaction at all and life as we know it would be unimaginable. There would be no religion there would be nothing but rocks and dust. The concept of Satan is vital to human development. Rid yourself of Satan and you rid yourself of Jesus. The way to greater good lies through greater evil.

Did you just make that up? With the most gentile of intentions, are you insane??? One of the skin mags back in the 70's had a cartoon of Jimmy Carter preaching to some near naked people (denoting stone-age, 3rd world. The caption read " I bring peace to you, and to make sure that peace is kept we brought a lot of guns." Even at the time it was a bang-on assessment. Cobalt and other speciality minerals are the reason for the interest. It has nothing at all to do with the enrichment of life for somebody else. It is a prime consideration in keeping costs as low as possible for western consumers.

Yet again this subject might have been anticipated, should sin abound so that grace can abound? A casual reading would suggest this might be the case. Reality shows it to be quite the opposite. It is one of a few topics that has the words in quote in the very next verse "God forbid". But then the quality of believing that opinion varies from person to person.

That is one aspect of the relationship, there are a few more that a person might wish to be aware of.
It is said that god is permanent and all knowing it is also said that the universe is permanent and all knowing the two are one, there is only the one.
Where do some of you come up with this stuff?? I just finished jumping all over somebody who said something vaguely similar. Just like I will try not to jump on you for having this view I should not really take it to task with them either. It isn't like it is an opinion arrived at through due-coarse and/or independent thought/study. It is a matter of how a specific view on religion or some aspect of it has been acquired. Not all the parts of the Bible are gentle subjects. They do serve a purpose though, everything in Scripture is there for a reason that cannot be even slightly imagined on the 'introduction' read.

A bit of digging says that our earth and our heaven (visible by any means) have finite lifespans. Fanatics will even care about the actual dates, if we have 4500 years of Bible history and the earth is 4.5 B already then when we are literally melted as a planet is when our sun (day 4 or whatever) ceases to be. On the '0'/day thing and we have a day that lasts 1,000 years and each year has 360 days the it works out to about 3.6B years from now, if there is no God. Time to start building that new Ark or perish. Whoopsi we'll all will be dead from the effects of old-age by time things really matter about that event.

Probably more to do with the vanity of personal gratification than impotance of truth getting out. I should know by now that knowledge is met with contempt before consideration. Even with the gift of consideration it is no small step to acceptance and then clarity. Time and again things I have read about how Scripture works comes to bear fruit. Always after the one who originally inspired the concept had left. That doesn't distract from the fact that what we know today isn't written in stone, that it also not the end of our ability lo learn new things

As a marking ploy for himself the money religion gets to play with is minuscule when it comes to what is available to just one category, lust. Real and perceived hookers/not-subtle-ads found anywhere mass media is found.

and terrify each other, and their children, by making them think that a devil is actually trying to control their lives, how ludicrous, and abusive, then they invented a god to battle the devil, 'talk about holy wars', that is the mother of them all.
Rather than take this up with you I would like the chance to take it up with the one who taught you this. Not a big deal if time or events prevent that.

Where do some of you come up with this stuff??

There are literally millions of books in the world. The bible is not the only one. There are hundreds of holy books that predate the bible and just as many that came after, not to mention the thousands written about the holy books and there interpretation. We could get into books on philosophy, spirituality, metaphysics and science. Most of them dwarf the bible in possibility and probability. The problem with bible thumpers is that they do not bother to read anything but the bible or books about the bible and therefore have a rather narrow view of reality. The bible is not the end all and be all of guide books home.

You can jump all over people who think that god is the universe, but who are you kidding. people believe whatever fits into their world view and that is not very often the same as yours. You are entitled to believe whatever nonsense you choose but then to be entitled to it, you must also accept that others are entitled to their own beliefs.

It is not a matter of who is right or wrong, but that everyone has a right to reach whatever form of enlightenment they choose in the way they choose to do it. Your way may be right for you but to say that the other's choice is wrong is to play god in that judgment. Not something I would want to face my maker with.
