How come when extremists in the U.S./Canada, even Mexico eventually get caught while extremists living in the Mid East seem to be protected even by those they murder. I think there is a difference between us.

It's called fear...a reason a good many Muslims chose to emigrate to Western Democracies...

Absolutely.

And I welcome those Muslims that embrace western culture, that shed the burka, that understand that clitoral circumcision is barbaric, that genders are equal in value, that freedom of speech and thought are of primary importance in this society.

Unfortunately, way too many can not shed the expectation of universal submission to Allah's will that is the essence of Islam......as dictated by the Koran

They need to get the Hell out of my country.

Not really though. Less than 2% of the population is muslim, I think? And who knows how few of them actually have these delusions of grandeur. There really is no need to 'kick them out' when they're so powerless.

I decided against quoting your post.... because from the composition of your post because from this line...

You are either a muslim using a bad translator program.......
Or a Westerner with a bad case of "dysgraphia"
So what comes out in the text might not be your true opinion
so an argument is an exercise in futility........Cheers:smile:

b1. so c ause i disagree makes me a muslim i was born groton ct, usa and raise up in nh. unlike many of you i understand people rights and just cause i disagree does not make me a muslim. i am protstant. this is a faliure on your part. but i am sure you with the group of people who also think obama a muslim to.

B2. what does it matter how i spell or use grammar you understand well enough to try to insult my opioion base on random thoughts of yours without no prove of backup

B3. that can be easily said on anyone over online. and i will state it again each religion has bad hidden serects each religon is not as peaceful as you want them to be.

this my opioion take it for whatever you want to take it.

an agurement no you just want me to agree with you since you are right but the sad turth is you are dead wrong. the coustion right gives muslims the right to bulid and hae a religon without and problems they own the land rthey paid for it.

its a commuity center. haven't you guys learn from past history on how you treated women and african americans? i guess not.

Absolutely.

I'm glad you agree. What confuses me is how this kind of rhetoric -like Steyn's for instance- applies to Imam Rauf. He's plainly about as progressive as you can be. He's an Islamic pluralist...that's by all accounts a progressive Muslim. He speaks out against Islamic extremism. He counts Christians and Jews as those he regularly consults with. That's not the hallmark's of an extremist Muslim.

Perhaps the most extreme irony of all, is that for years since 9/11, there has been a concerted effort to draw out these types of Muslims who will denounce terrorism, and work together with the rest of America for American values. Yet, here's one, and the things he has said are being pulled out of context, and misconstrued because it's still popular to flog a Muslim, even progressive Muslims...

It's retarded, by the very definition of the verb form of retard.

Raheel Raza is such a moderate....I have my doubts about the imam:sad:

Well, reasonable folks can disagree about what a moderate Muslim is. In my book, if they denounce terrorists and killing of innocents, call for religious tolerance and religious plurality, then that disqualifies them from being an extremist, or even a hard-line Muslim. What remains is moderates and progressives.

Tuff corn flakes with religion, you either believe or you don't. It is time to start banning condemning any religion that professes holy war/jihad in any way to gain converts thru violence. Only recognize true religions of peace. (as on September 22, 2010 forward)

If it's only 2%, shouldn't be too hard to round them up and ship 'em.

"""(CNN) — The religious leader behind plans to erect an Islamic center and mosque a few blocks from New York’s ground zero said Wednesday night that America’s national security depends on how it handles the controversy.""" - - - so if the US or the West doesn't handle it up to scratch, more 9/11's?? Nice to know.

None too subtle in my world.

Do you always post quotes out of context and make sweeping generalizations to make a point?

You should use the mentalfloss. Might help you clear your mind, Maybe it's too late, and a drilling and filling is required.

How about plain old bad taste ... look at what is there now, and look at the monstrosity that will be built

I know, but is it a trophy for the Muslims of the world or a real house of worship. The poor taste is them wanting to build so close to ground zero. I have no doubt that the mosque will be built, what bothers me most will be the protests that will follow it, people will be hurt or worse. Have to keep in mind that it will be built in NYC, nobody tell them what to do.
