It may not be your problem specifically but it's a horrible thing. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
It is a horrible thing. Something so horrible that I would wish it on my enemy. But that's just me.

Measles had been virtually eradicated from the US and Canada by the year 2000. Why has it sprung back so virulently?
well by all means lets stop all vaccinations so we can protect the mythical .01% of a non existent population who got autism from vaccines. That wounds so much safer then protecting the 99% of the kids from polio, measles, whooping cough.
What that says is that a learning disability is far worse then a child dying of a preventable disease.

Ignorance. They can keep peanut butter out of schools, but have a hard time with unvaccinated kids spreading disease. Go figure.
Traveling to the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country in search of autistic Amish children, the reporter, based on national statistics, should have found as many as 200 children with autism in the community -- instead, he found only three, the oldest age 9 or 10:
Measles Breakouts Among the Vaccinated
There have been many, and the various public health organizations, including the CDC, are well aware of them. Yet, pediatricians convince and school boards coerce parents into making sure their children get three MMR vaccinations in short succession. Obviously, not enough know of measles breakouts among the vaccinated.

Anti-Vaccination morons led to this recent measles outbreak.
No.. No reasons are valid besides being immunocompromised, and those people don't get measles if everyone around them is vaccinated. some kids parents didn't want their child vaccinated, probably some MORON who thought it would give the kid autism, dumb parents probably believe in chemtrails as well. THEN you have the audacity to bring your unvaccinated child to DISNEYLAND of all places...the parents should be prosecuted.
Tonington said:Even in years with no outbreaks, there were still the odd cases that would pop up. To eradicate a disease, you really need to have sustained pressure. You'll hear lots about the 95% immunization rate, well that's all well and good, except when you have pockets of areas where it's a lot less. That's where the disease can pop up again, and with people travelling like they do, it can go anywhere. Sustained vaccination in high proportions of the public, that's how you eradicate diseases. It's really frustrating to read some of the comments lately on Facebook and on other media about this. Some parents just don't get it.
One last comment, there are other reasons to avoid vaccinations besides immunocompromised/immunosuppressed individuals. Allergies/sensitivities are another reason why some people should not be vaccinated.
Ignorance, mostly. New parents who think Jenny McCarthy is a valuable public health opinion leader. New parents who think that after spending an hour Googling the topic, that they know all they need to. My generation has never even seen the disease, so it's easy for the dummies who listen to people like the McCarthys in this world to think the risk of vaccination outweighs the risk posed by a disease they've never even seen.

One of the lead news items on the T.V. news at noon was four cases of measles in Toronto! Are they referring to the same Red Measles we all had as kids. I remember when our entire family was infected except for Dad at the same time about 1/3 of our school was infected. We knew what we had hence didn't necessitate seeing a doctor, just spent about a week in bed and then we were over it. Is this a different strain that's making the rounds now or what? Is it really a matter worthy of the news or is it just a slow news day? They mentioned a hazard for pregnant women. It was German measles back in the day that was a threat to pregnant women, not Red measles. What gives?
I guess the isssue is that it is so contagious. If you are unvaccinated and exposed, you are just about guaranteed to catch it.e.
I have no doubt the numbers are correct, of course there is no proof of correlation with vaccines in isolation. Nutrition, hygene, living conditions in general have not been considered. I have even posted a study on these very same diseases some years ago that completely discounts vaccination in the drop in these diseases.
