Is labour unions still a good investment for the working class?

You guys are looking at this as if it's in a vacuum.
You're all assuming all the labour laws we enjoy today would have been legislated even if Unions had not organized members to fight for them.

We don't need unions today because unions got us all the labour laws we have today.

Every noble idea will eventually be infiltrated by greed, corruption and human frailties. Then the good idea will be just another thing folks will complain about. Maybe some day folks will realize the destructiveness of ****t*ng on each other to get ahead. If that ever happens they'll be no need for all these noble ideas such as unions, etc.

You have to take the good with the bad. In everything .

Unions used to represent laborers interests, now it's just Business/Politics as usual...Labor Unions have lost their fire/their edge...Unless your part of a public union, than your over-represented because you have political ties. Is all B.S! An illusion!

Business is all about Money and Control.
Politics is all about Control and Money.
All about Power.
And we ALL pay for it;
1 way or another.
Some more than others.

Yes we know, the whole system is based on slavery. Slavery used to be the biggest world commodity a few hundred years ago. Today you buy your freedom with money.

Yep...1 Big Pyramid/Ponzi Scheme! ;) :)

Slavery was the real reason we ever even bothered to invent currency.

Today we have the petro dollar. But we likely had a slavey dollar back in the day.

Slaves were used as currency literally

today's slavery dollar is the Yuan and the Ruppul

Our dollar based on oil is not a slavery dollar. It's based on heavy machinery production

And a ton bucket load of bankers financing

The Mighty Dollar...A necessary Evil...But please; Let not EVIL Control it!

Slave were obtained in raids on your enemy.
Money is no different.

You don't make money by being nice.

You don't win wars by being nice. Currency is war. It's slavery. Stop being a big puss*

Much of what the unions were formed to fight and fight for is now a matter of law: wages, hours, safety, pensions, &c. While some unions have modernised and shifted their focus to training, worker development, and cooperation with management in moving the company forward, most have stuck with the old adversarial relationship. I don't think there's no place for an independent workers' organisation, but maybe it's time to scrub the blackboard and start over to get away from the adversarial relationship.

Yeah right, scrub the adversarial relationship. Are you insane? The relationship between labour and management has not changed in ten thousand years and it never will. Do you expect labour to adopt a less than cost effective stance with respect to hours of work? What unions fight for is never done. Similarly and certainly so management can ever cease their work to drive down the cost of labour. There must always be a compromise. That adversarial relationship is natural and enduring.

I rather my masters trade in Petro dollar then trade with my children.

As it was originally

So how many children did you actually loose in this manner?

Work for yourself.

This is the norm. Of course there are those who believe that they work for someone else.
