Be grateful they never offered a rueben dog. The kraut could get messy.
Guess what? Politicians lie through their fangs. Expect the opposite of everything they say and you can easily predict your future.

The real impact is yet to be felt by the BC Liberal/Conservative coalition. The fact is they got 1.6 billion
from the Feds and they applied it to a 3.3 billion dollar deficit and now they have to pay back the 1.6
and make up for the deficit they hid from the people. BC is now 3.3 billion in the hole and they are over
budget on nearly all their projects. These people are going to get pounded at the polls in the next
election which is closer than most people think. In BC we petitioned the government and demanded
they retract the legislation and they put it to a vote thinking people would calm down. They didn't and now
the next step is to have the BC Government call an election so we can show them just how mad me are.
The NDP is about to come back to power and I hope they learned some lessons from the past. If they
are like Saskatchewan or Manitoba New Democrats things will be fine. Nova Scotia also took a serious
situation there and not only balanced the books for the first time in years they produced over half a
billion is surplus funds that can pay debt created by previous Liberal and Conservative Governments or
start a reserve fund that will someday benefit everyone.

That is true of the urbanites but the rural areas did not want that clown and his minions. Notice the numbers in the chart that JLM posted. Those areas with the highest percentage were not metro Vancouver. In BC people in metro areas vote with their wallets, rural people vote with their conscience.
Out of fairness to Christy she had nothing to do with the implementation, she just inherited a huge mess and did all that could reasonably be expected to patch things up by holding the referendum. However it's come back to bite her in the ass, business doesn't like it so the consumer has to look forward to higher prices at the cash register to cover their added paper work. Heisting it on us was a huge mistake, but rescinding it could turn out to be a nightmare and will cost us more in the long run. It's amazing Bill Vanderzalm was able to generate the power he has, 25 years ago he was a one man government who didn't consult anyone before enacting all kinds of goofy legislation & now he's bad mouthing the Liberals for not consulting the people. I think what Bill did was mostly for his personal benefit in gaining back popularity before crossing the "great divide". Maybe some people have forgotten Fastasygate!! I, personally was hoping (as the least of all evils) to elect an N.D.P. Gov't (while holding my nose) under the leadership of Mike Farnsworth. I don't have too much faith in Dixie Cup!
Long term the HST is the best deal for taxpayers as well as business. Just that most people have no clue as to how the tax system works and many don't even want to. I don't know how many people have stated that they wish the taxes were included in the sticker price because they don't even want to know how badly various levels of government are screwing them.
ANd that is why governments can get away with so much.
That's what they are doing, farming the work out overseas and in the process maybe a little snake oil gets added. :lol:
If that is true (have seen nothing on the news about it) I think that is a much bigger and important issue than this H.S.T. Actually I think the biggest damage done by this H.S.T. debacle is it's turned out to be a smoke screen to take our minds off other issues. :lol:
