its 2018, so anyone that is driving a vehicle older than 2010 would be on your 'I don't give a sh!t' list. Why are you such a poor example of a human being? How can you live with yourself?
I doubt I would ever replace an engine unless it was under warranty.

Why on earth are you so emotional about cars?

Are you drunk? My wife's car is a 2010 and it only has 80,000km. I have no intention of replacing the engine.

I've owned 2 pick-up trucks. I bought them at 50,000km and kept them until they were about 20 years old. I never replaced a motor or a fuel tank. Electric technology won't fair so well.

new car fallout Michael Gove’s radical plan unravels as experts warn it will cost UK trillions to switch to electric cars by 2040

The Environment Secretary came under fire as it was claimed Britain will need TEN new nuclear power stations - while Tory MPs branded White Van Taxes for diesel drivers 'morally wrong'

By Steve Hawkes, Deputy Political Editor 26th July 2017 The Sun

MICHAEL GOVE’s radical car blitz was unravelling last night as experts warned Britain will need nearly TEN new nuclear plants to power a wholesale switch to electric cars in 2040.

National Grid said an extra 30GW of generating capacity may be required so Brits forced to go green can charge up millions of new motors.

Electric cars will have to charged at certain times to avoid blackouts

This would mean 10 new nuke plants or a staggering 10,000 wind turbines.

Campaigners added the final bill for new infrastructure and charging points will run into the “trillions” of pounds.

Quentin Willson of FairFuel UK added: “This is the most seismic change in personal transport for a quarter of a century. The Government can’t fill potholes so what chance for a brave new super electric highway.”

And furious Tory MPs last night blasted the Environment Secretary for paving the way for councils to clobber diesel drivers with new taxes – or ban them altogether – in a matter of months.

Ex-Minister and fuel campaigner Rob Halfon branded the plan “morally wrong” and demanded a scrappage scheme to compensate millions who face having to fork out for new expensive cars.

our national debt hasn't reached 1 trillion. Hoid wants us to spend 'trillions' on Nuke plants.

Ford has announced it will intensify its electric car program spending $11 billion in order to electrify its most important products by 2022.

Thats 4 years from now.

The Gasoline Era is over....finally.

NOt sure when oil and gas stocks will tsrta to reflect this but it has to happen.

Ford to Invest $11 Billion in Electric Vehicles By 2022 | Fortune

IN 5 years nobody will want a gas powered car. They will remain in the market as low cost vehicles, but as gasoline production declines and gasoline prices rise they will be priced out.

I love your jokes and sense of humour. Twenty five years from now we'll still be using as much if not more gasoline than we are right now! The use of gasoline will continue for another 100 years. We've already almost reached the limit of electricity production in North American. How much more land do we have available for flooding? Wind is not all that efficient nor are waves which at best will only serve coastal communities!

2019 Ram 1500 First Look: Welcome Wagons

Headline upgrades include 48-volt mild hybridization, a claim to the longest and strongest chassis, and class-leading 0.357 Cd aerodynamics. Will this be enough to continue attracting new blood in the face of a recently refreshed 2018 Truck of the Year-winning Ford F-150, an anticipated all-new Chevy Silverado/GMC Sierra duo expected in 2019, and a renewed Toyota Tundra arriving shortly thereafter?

I am anti nuke unless its fusion. Always have been.

So Ford going all in on electric is no big deal I guess. There's already Tesla. And Volvo. Astin Martin. Jaguar land Rover.

Also GM. They are aiming for 2 all e cars in 2018 and 18 more in 5 years.

In 5 years there still will not be charging stations available to make any large trip reasonable. Apartment dwellers will not have any way to charge their cars. Neither will some condo owners who find that charging is against their bylaws. 5 years from now, electricity in this province will still be super expensive for those who would want to charge.

I think captain has the right timing. It will be decades before any significant adjustments in infrastructure occur to make electric vehicles ,feasible. I will see if Ford actually sticks to its announcements as the years progress. Car companies like to make these grandiose type announcements to get the 'early adopters' (sometimes called suckers) money. But once the dust settles, they adjust the timings or the selection as economics dictate.
