Is Canada ready for the coming electric vehicle revolution?

Northern Ontario,
You're stupid enough, though.
I had to go back a ways but I think I found where you got the bee in your bonnet

Draw!!!

That'll make the 85 year old little old ladies equal with the 19 year old martial arts practitioners.
Fairly civilized conversation
A couple of days later...

Your Alt-Reich buddies seem to have abandoned the forum, leaving you all alone to defend the indefencible. Didn't you get the memo? Missing out on the usual Locutus/Danbones/Eagle Crack/Coby/daSleeper/MHz/pgs ultra-right circle jerk?
What happened in between... maybe I verbally attacked a friend of yours....dunno?

AS long as you don't go past the end of the extension cord. WE have had electric scooters for years. Good for about 30K. Trouble is it is 22k.to town and back.I recently talked to a guy that has an electric smart car in Campbell River. Works just fine in town. To go to Vancouver he has to stop in QUalicum Beach and charge up. NOt practical. So no they are not going to take over any time soon.

I don't see much wrong with gasoline, except for the Assholes that keep f**king around with the price. Out of the blue two days ago they jacked the price up here 13 cents for no apparent reason, except to catch people who are going to be travelling over Xmas. Apparently there are strict controls on hydro prices, why not gasoline? Maybe it's time no one voted for anyone who won't promise to set controls on gasoline prices. Let's make this legalized robbery illegal!

As usual, this thread deteriorates into a pissing contest.

Easy enough to fix, Cliff, if there was one moderator with the balls to shut two of these Assholes down. If they ask me I'll even submit their names, so there won't be confusion. :) :) :)

Maybe yours, as well.

I see green party leader Andrew Weaver proudly proclaiming that he has an electric vehicle . His daily commute from his riding to the legislature is about 10 klicks . Yet this same leader is behind the cancellation of Site C . So where does all the extra electricity come from ?

My brother has a mobility scooter which has batteries and he can "scoot" a good 60 km in it. But it's a SCOOTER not a car. You'd be hard pressed to go any distance in an electric car now unless you had natural gas or gas back up which most electric vehicles need in order to be worth the expense of purchasing them.

The only way that electric vehicles will be forced on the population is by governments making it illegal to have gas powered vehicles and I'm afraid that scenario will be coming down the pipe all too soon, despite the fact that gas power vehicles are much better, more reliable than the electric and just as good environmentally. .

Any half intelligent Federal Canadian politician must understand what an important economic activity petroleum extraction and export is to us all in this country (No, not just in the West). We're up there with the Saudis as a petroeconomy. It is suicidal for us to deny it.

ranges are much longer now. I believe Zero has a motorcycle that will go 300 plus mile on a charge. Full charge takes 4 hours - 90 minutes with super charger option.

even the stupid ones like Harper are all in all the time on oil and gas.

the last thing you have to worry about is lack of political support. Oil and gas bought and ran the PM's office for 10 years.

the big problem is losing out on new technology starts.

They do have pretty good range on a charge, but that would depend on the weight of the passenger and the terrain...Flat or hills...
