Nope.

You think not? America is behaving completely predictably, just like every other imperial power in history has, and justifying it essentially the same way, just as you have: "It's for your own good, we're helping you."I couldnt help but read the article on amnifest destiny and i must say that that has to do with America expanding westward, Iraq has nothing to do with incresing the power or prestige of America ...
That sounds very nice, but there is a huge difference between helping people for the right
reasons, and invading their country for all the wrong reasons, with a very arrogant,
self serving attitude, with accusations that are unfounded.
He fooled the united nations, his own people, and the rest of us in the world as well,
and all the while he and his cronies knew that they had 'picked and chosen' the clauses
in intelligence that would allow them to convince the world.
They were so arrogant
that they actually thought they would get away with it, that others would not delve into the intelligence, do major studies, and work they way back to the 'time of decision making' that changed the world, and will forever remain in the memories of those who are interested, to pass on to others, and 'not' be duped again, by such foul deeds, put forward by a 'president' who we now realize was not and is not, capable of holding such a high position in government, and was put there as a front, the good guy, the guy you would have a beer with. Never again, as I'm sure, at least hoping that the american people are now looking harder, paying more attention, and taking seriously who they actually 'vote' for when in that polling booth.

They didn't fool the UN, nor did they fool the entire world, or myself for that matter. I knew it was a sham from Day 1.... our PM at the time even knew and stated there was not enough solid evidence to promote any invasion of Iraq (That was stated after they presented their hush hush evidence to him away from cameras) The UN didn't believe there were grounds for an invasion in the first place, which is why they never went in and the US needed to whip up their Coalition of Fools, with a long list of various countries which never really sent or supported anything and that 98% of the forces in Iraq were US/UK only.... not actually being any sort of Coalition at all.
I agree, we also had many chats about 'doubt' ,before the invasion, but there was
a grey area at that time.
And this is exactly what we got, all because some nations in the UN didn't have enough brains and enough balls to do anything to prevent this hell we have now.... and right now, the Iraqis are the ones suffering, the common family and citizen in the US is suffering, neighboring nations to the two are suffering, if not, soon...... and to me, the UN showed just how useful they are. They're corrupt, their method of operation is flawed to have allowed certain nations more rule over others (Not very United if you ask me) and in allowing this crap to occur as it did, as it still does..... they might as well be disbanded like the old League of Nations.
All nations, who have any clout in the world, should demand that the U.N. be built up
into the force they should be, and has a final say, after voting, as to what should or should not
be done.
Don't forget, their vote actually has to get past those nice new machines of theirs without corruption before that can happen. Although in order to prevent the machines from corrupting the votes, there needs to be a method of monitoring those devices..... but they don't have that either. Prone to crashes, wiping complete lists of votes for one area, inadiquate security programs installed to prevent hacking/tampering......
How can this be overcome, where is a neutral party to make sure, it is ridiculous and
obvious.
.... I mean, besides the known corruption in Florida that allowed Bush to win in the first place, not to mention the rigging against Kerry in the second one.... exactly how can one hope the US citizen will not be fooled again in the next election, when you can't even trust your ligit vote will be recorded properly to the right person?
2001 - 4.7%When George Bush took over thd Whitehouse what was the unemployment rate?
That was two decades before 2003, and not much was said about it when it happened. Saddam fought the same nuts the US is fighting now in Iraq. Just a coincidence? Those people did need our help, what about the hundreds of Kurds Saddam killed, are we to just let them be murdered by an evil dictator? I believe that we, the first world countries do have a duty to protect people like that, people being mercilessly abused by people in power, and yes us being first world countries is a God-given right for man can accomplish nothing without the help of God
Why is Bush complaining about the Iranians in Iraq? Is it another lie?No, he did not fight the same nuts we are fighting now, we aren't even fighting anymore we are keeping the peace, the official war is over, we are attempting to stop violence between Sunnis, Shiites, and Kurds. WHen Saddam was in power the Sunnis ruled the government and the other two peoples, the shiites being the majority were oppressed, we have stopped that
That's there business, and the stories of mistreatment in some cases didn't pass the propoganda laugh test. Good stories though. He was a threat to the innocent people of his own country who happened to have diffrent ideas from his so they were mistreated, and what about the First Gulf War in which he attacked Kuwait in a conflict that resulted in many deaths, and the Iraq-Iran War which also resulted in many deaths, he was not neccessarily a threat to you and i but he was a threat to some innocent people who we needed to protect
That excuse makes for another good story. Tugs on the heart strings. If they can't defend themselves its up to the people who can defend them. Sheep are not left out alone but have sheep dogs to guard them from the wolves. WOuld you let your sheep alone unguarded? Thats the same as letting these poor innocent people suffer

We are not appointing ourselves as God we are doing what good people have been doing for oppressed people for centuries, but the recent drift away from Christianity is clouding peoples minds and causing them to now see this in a different light
