Iran has said it will block a corridor planned in the Caucasus under a United States-brokered peace accord between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which has been hailed by other countries in the region as beneficial for achieving lasting peace.

The terms of the accord, which was unveiled at a signing ceremony at the White House on Friday, include exclusive US development rights to a route through Armenia that would link Azerbaijan to Nakhchivan, an Azerbaijani enclave that borders Baku’s ally Turkiye.
The corridor, which would pass close to the border with Iran, would be named the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity, or TRIPP, and operate under Armenian law.

Shahidov said Friday’s US-brokered deal constituted a “roadmap” for the final agreement, which appears imminent given there are no unresolved territorial disputes between the two neighbours.
But…but “Ali Akbar” Velayati, a top adviser to Iran’s supreme leader, said on Saturday that Tehran would block the initiative “with or without Russia”, with which Iran has a strategic alliance alongside Armenia.
But…but for its part, Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs cautiously welcomed the deal, saying on Saturday that Moscow supported efforts to promote stability and prosperity in the region, including the Washington meeting.

Who is going to stop them?
Who is going to stop whom from doing what? Stop Azerbaijan and Armenia from a peace accord? Someone else doing something else?

Netanyahu who had his ass handed to him and his terrorist buddies?
What does this have to do with Netanyahu? There’s several links and none of them mention Israel, Israeli’s, Netanyahu “&/or his terrorist buddies”…but maybe you know something not already mentioned? Got a link?

They're building a road and pipeline. How would they stop Iran from blocking it? Air defense that missile whistle right past?

Israel is a sitting duck to Iran.

What does Israel…seriously…have to do with this? Azerbaijan and Armenia and a peace accord I mean? Iran is sticking its nose in, but is Israel or anything Israel-centric at all?

Hezbollah raised the spectre of civil war on Friday with a warning there would be "no life" in Lebanon if the government sought to confront or eliminate the Iran-backed group, & not like that would be the first…

The government wants to control arms in line with a U.S.-backed plan following Israel's military campaign against Hezbollah which was founded 40 years ago with the backing of Tehran's Revolutionary Guards.

But the group is resisting pressure to disarm, saying that cannot happen until Israel ends its strikes and occupation of a southern strip of Lebanon that had been a Hezbollah stronghold.

(The conflict between Hezbollah and Israel, which left parts of Lebanon in ruins, erupted in October 2023 when the group opened fire at Israeli positions along the southern border in solidarity with its Palestinian ally Hamas at the start of the Gaza war🤫)

"This is our nation together. We live in dignity together, and we build its sovereignty together - or Lebanon will have no life if you stand on the other side and try to confront us and eliminate us," its leader Naim Qassem said in a televised speech.

Hezbollah retains strong support among the Shi'ite community in Lebanon, but calls for its disarmament across the rest of society have grown.
