Imagine the news you’ll get if Notley decides who can and can’t report

and just for fun, rabble.ca was mentioned, the co-founder of rabble.ca is Judy Rebick. She was and is a renowned journalist even before she founded Rabble. She was the co-host of a prime time debate show called Face Off on CBC Newsworld from 1994–1998 and then a women's discussion show Straight From the Hip, until 2000. She was a regular commentator on CBC TV's Sunday Report and CBC Radio. She was during that time also a columnist with Elm Street, the London Free Press, and on CBC Online.

Again, a big difference between Rabble and Rebel.

Where do you get the f-cked up idea someone needs to have a journalism degree to be a reporter?

I didn't, but SRG has stated that she is neither. She is "just an ordinary citizen", a "stay at home Mom". She wants to blog and tweet to her hearts content, go for it, but she can't claim to NOT be a journalist/reporter and then expect to get the same privileges afforded that profession.

Which is perfectly fine if she is a stay at home mom and she is more than entitled to call herself a reporter/journalist if she is with the rebel, piano weekly magazine or St Peter's Elementary newspaper.

She HAS STATED REPEATEDLY,IN PUBLIC, THAT SHE IS NOT!!!!!!! Now, after getting turfed from a press conference, she has decide that she IS a reporter. In other words, she is one when it's convenient, and isn't one when it's NOT convenient.

This isn't a right/left issue for me, it's a matter of qualification. The Rebel is a good example of unqualified journalists, and they are the flavour of the week, but they definitely aren't the only example of shoddy journalism on both sides of the political fence. The Rebel presents itself as a news show, yet they miserably fail to adhere to anything remotely close to responsible journalism, and unfortunately there are people out there who will take their word as truth. They really should stamp warnings on anything those kind of outfits publish, just like they put on cigarettes, so there can be no mistake that these hacks are offering anything more than a biased opinion. The are journalism associations who publish an extensive Code of Ethics, this would be a good place to start when it comes to some form of accreditation, some assurance that the certificate holder has had some training in ethical journalism and isn't just spewing out thoughtless vitriol whenever she's tired of clipping coupons.

Too bad CBC never heard of any of that. DUring the last election they had the most biased coverage ever seen in Canada.

And that is meaningless Gerry. It is who she represents when at a news conference.

She didn't go to the press conference to do house choirs and raise children on behalf of the Rebel did she?

Exactly. In my mind a media outlet known to publish incendiary half truths peppered with name calling and insults doesn't deserve a seat at the adult's table. They deal in cut rate schlock and shouldn't be allowed to masquerade as a reputable news source.

So how did CBC get in?

If you're saying that the CBC is on the same level of journalistic integrity as The Rebel then your stock just took a nose dive.

Any program of certification aimed at raising the quality of journalism in this country would have to apply to everyone to be effective. That means it would have to be administered and regulated by a non-partisan, non-government entity. It would also help if it was self-supporting through membership and education fees to avoid any involvement with government. It would also have to maintain a high standard of ethics with penalties for those who strayed from the straight and narrow.

Take a look at the Canadian Association of Journalists website and peruse their code of ethics. I wonder just how many working journalists in the country today could say that they abide by standards anywhere close to those.

Gees, more comotion than the time Dave put the shrew in Morleys sleeping bag.

The CBC died 20 years ago and with it went it's integrity. They have no level of quality and are more interested in appeasing f-cking artistes by hiring target demographics than seeking intelligence and common sense.

Are you a cracked out Botswanan midget lesbian with one leg whose previous job was fronting a punk rock band? They'll hire you before they would a clean cut, straight, highly intelligent family man because it might offend the 3 gay Eskimos in Wawa ON.

By the way Scooby Doo wants the psychedelic curtains back that were in the Mystery Machine that were stolen by Don Cherry's tailor.

Zoinks.

See this, prime example of what happens to the brain of an alcoholic. Very little evidence of operating brain cells.

Nope, I didn't f-ck up my life and brain sucking the glass cock like yourself who is easily confused by simplistic text like Go Dog Go.

I'm just a highly intelligent insensitive prick that has no love for one legged cracked out Botswana punk rock lesbians just because they are one legged cracked out Botswana punk rock lesbians.

That is correct. Not everyone is like you. If you'd like I'll mail you some other primary reading materials not unlike Go Dog Go to help you repair some of those neural synapses you fried doing eight ball after eight ball.

It is for the AB NDP.

As for qualifications, The Rebel has enough to qualify as a media outlet, like any other.

I just wonder if I paid their dues, would they call me a journalist. Since they're a dying association.
