I'm conflicted about the Bible. Will you discuss it with me?

Why would you believe something that's demonstrably false?
That's your opinion , As for my opinion i see none because I understand it ... And to understand it ? One must really believe 100% , not 99.9 % but 100%

Sorry Tim, I can't quite agree. Is not the Bible written by others "trying to tell you"? I think that Methuselah living exactly 969 years is bullsh*t.
And that is your choice ... I'm not offended or was I trying to offend anyone . Remember it's your choice to believe what ever you like . No one has the right to make you believe or not believe ...

I guess gullibility is a choice too!

No, it's not an opinion, it's a fact. The Bible contains empirical claims about the nature of the world that are false, starting right on the first page with the order of creation.
Again, that's how you see it . I don't view it the same way as you might

To insult one beliefs just shows what kind of character one might have

No it is not. There are people that believe it is right to have sex with children. Welcome to the Forum and grow up while you are here.

I believe in the Bible 100 % and it was written by men whom god told what to write . I also believe the Bible has no errors at all . It was meant to be exactly the way it is now for a reason and a small % know why . If there no god ? Life as we know it has no meaning . This is my beliefs , you can believe what ever you want , it's your choice. You can agree or disagree with my opinion that is also you choice . All that matters is what you believe in not what others try to tell you .

How many translations did the bible go thru before it was first written.

How many translations after that?

What year was the first bible compiled?

I am referring to the New Testament.

And not one error. Really

Wrong again. You can spin the texts to mean pretty much anything you want (MHz is the local master at that, but I'd bet you wouldn't accept a lot of what he says either), but really it's a matter of what the book plainly says versus what we now know to be true. The order of creation described in Genesis is wrong, there was no global flood, the walls of Jericho didn't fall down, and so on. If you don't know the difference between a fact and an opinion, you're never going to make sense of the world.

I rest my case

No case to rest. You have not made a credible case yet. Is it your habit to stop before you finish?

And if you did rest it, then it was barely off the ground and not far to rest.

So if your one that doesn't believe in the Bible may I ask what makes more sense to be concern with, matters that you believe in or not ?

Dex

From what I understand many ancient cultures in a various parts of the world refer to a great flood?

When the land bridge between Spain and Africa broke, that would in that day be seen as a great flood.

That statement just highlights your naivity!

You can view anything anyway you want if you are wearing the right kind of glasses (or blinders)
I guessing your one that never knows when to call it quits . I feel sorry for you , why ? ...
