How many natives in that bunch of protesters????? four or five?
I see more than that.

I wish I was there (Not that I agree with the protest), I wish they didn't try and drown him out.

I wish I had a chance to debate Ezra on the First Nations.

I was in TO today (Shudder), but I was working.

Contrary to popular belief, not all Natives are unemployed bums living off handouts.

are you sure? If you're employed and not looking for handouts...... maybe you're not a Native.

I will use a word from your recent post- They are nutters on both sides of the issues. And anyone that thinks there are not a substantial number of issues is in error. Same as what is good for East Coast FN Peoples is not suitable for BC FN Peoples. And even in BC or Man or Ont there are significant divisions.
Ya get nowheres fast fighting- Atleo has to show what will be dealt with.

Is there a fruit that is white on the outside and red on the inside?

I was wondering the same thing. Both of us doing that- scary eh.

http://news.nationalpost.com/2013/0...-any-future-first-nations-policy-discussions/

The Harper government said Monday it will not include Governor-General David Johnston in any future policy discussions with First Nations, further clouding its battle of wills with aboriginal leaders.

A spokesperson for the Prime Minister said Monday Stephen Harper will meet with Assembly of First Nations’ National Chief Shawn Atleo “in the coming weeks,” and has no plans to abide aboriginal leaders’ demands for a summit Thursday.

“[First Nations people] are very insistent on having the Governor-General there, but the Governor-General says this is a policy matter with the government and that [he] shouldn’t be there,” Andrew MacDougall said. “We agree with that.”

The system of governance of my people was adopted in part by the US.
Your people are British Parliamentarians? And what do you mean by your people? Are you a slave owner or an alien?
My people are humans and there is about 6 1/2 billion of us.
My people have the longest running participatory democracy on earth.
So your people are from Mesopatamia and Babylon? Or are you Atlantean?
Barely? Or system was adopted in part by the US.
So were about forty-five others so which part is yours
No I'm not. Some are, some aren't.
None are. Show me one with its' own borders, its' own currency, its' own economy and a standing army. Other than that the natives are merely a collection defeated people and bad negotiators.
It makes no sense to you. But you have a very limited understanding of the history and the contracts.
We've been through this before. you are waving around contracts signed with people who have been dead longer than the maximum legal term of a contract. They were also signed with the Crown which no longer has any authority in Canada. Plus you wish to force a contract upon people that were not party to it which is illegal.
I'm a card carrying status Native, I pay taxes.
But do you pay the same as everyone else. Do you pay for medical? Do you pay for Dental? Do you pay for your education? Do you pay for your kid's education? Face it, you are not like every Canadian. You have a special set of laws and special rights that advantage you more than any other taxpayer. That is not equality, that is a self-centered, little baby trying to act like a grown-up.
You should just apologize for the idiocy in whole, contained in your posts.
You should just apologize for being an idiot.
Geezus what a stupid thing to say, America didn't even exist when many treaties were written or created.
Neither did Canada. It didn't exist until 1982 so how can you hold it responsible for deals signed in bad faith in the 17 & 1800's
The Royal Proclamation of 1763, set forth the rules in which the transfer of land and the contracts would be drafted.
Then you should look to the royals that were around in 1763. We don't have Royal rule in this country anymore so you really should be SOL.
Actually, the US political system stems from a healthy helping of the Haudenosaunee.
The Haudenosaunee were British parliamentarians?
The longhouse is quintessentially an eastern product.
The longhouse is from the Haida Gwai, West coast Salish.
Constitutionally supported democracies are also an eastern product.
If you call Greece Eastern.
Totems are an eastern spiritual affectation, not some thing that was "built".
Indians seem to not be able to 'build' anything without govt help and money.
The west coast First Nations built totems.
Actually they carved them, sometimes in multiple pieces that were then put together and erected. Does sound like building something.
Me too!
Maybe I'm an apple.
Well you're definitely a fruit!
Is there a fruit that is white on the outside and red on the inside?
I don't know but Bear is red on the outside and white in the middle....

Why would the GG need to attend. He is a representative of the crown and the crown has NO legal authority or standing in Canada.

Good for Stevo. Canada is not at the beck & call of the indians.

Screw the FN. If they want to deal with the crown they had better move to England where it has some authority.

Potato...pototo...tomato...tomoto....

Actually Ron there is a huge difference legally. The Dominion of Canada was ruled by the British monarchy, Canada is not. It is like Ukraine or Georgia that were once part of the USSR but are now independent, sovereign nations. As they are not bound by treaties and trade agreements made by the USSR we are not bound by treaties made by the British Crown.
