A 56-year-old Milwaukee man is accused of shooting his lawn mower because it wouldn't start.

I have certainly considered doing violence to my lawn mower but as yet I haven't shot it. I also have a weed eater that doesn't feed the weed eating string like it should. When the string gets too short you have to take it apart and pull the string out by hand and then put it together again. I know the town fathers and the police would not look kindly on me if I blasted both of these pieces of junk with the 12 gauge, but I can relate to that Wisconson man and I wish him well.

From Milwaulkee eh? The home of Briggs and Stratton....

Guess what I'm doing today.... Same thing I do every four days - in between rainy days - on this great green sponge (Cardio guy is frowning) When the **** did B&S start with the freaking unadjustable plastic carb? I can relate to the shooter. I'm one more recoil closer to going into the four-wheel boat anchor business myself....

I think its sad for him shooting his lawnmower and harming no one, he faces more jailtime than many violent offenders who injure others.

LOL. Wolf, does your have the gas injection nipple (for lack of better description)? I have it and I don't think it has every worked. I'm exhausted before my mower starts.

You mean that primer bulb that sticks in most of the time? Yup. I've had to replace two diaphrams already this summer. Fixes it for about eight more hours. Gas perishes the membrane. Recoil's plastic and the plastic wheels are about to fall off. At least the engine block's not plastic ... yet!

There's a number of things it could be. At work, after so many hours the teeth on the inside of the head that hold the spool in place wear down. So when the pressure is placed on the head, the teeth don't grab and the trimmer releases too much line. If the knob is cracked, that can cause the trimmer to release none at all. Depends on the model trimmer you have, but you might be able to purchase new needed parts.

Even with brand new trimmers, it doesn't take long before the fun starts. At least they aren't too complicated as far as small engines go :D

Arrgh! I replaced my second diaphram, now it's the damned plastic recoil on the fritz! I've never seen one spit out the pullcord and snuff out an engine before - but my does it scream its death throes sweetly. Does anyone remember a time when Briggs and Stratton meant heirloom? Freaking throw-away garbage in the name of profit!

Maw! Whar's my shootin' iron?
