I was dropping my Wife off to do some shopping and there was this gold and silver buy/sell place next door.

So while she was shopping I browsed the place next door.

I bought a one oz bar of silver.

I was going to buy an oz of gold but I'd need to take out a loan to do that.

So now I have an oz of silver.

What do?

Now you look for resale places where you can sell it if you have to and monitor their prices. Over time it will go up, it's unlikely you'll lose money unless you're forced to sell by circumstance at a bad time.

But yes, the correct answer is stocks. It's generally more effective to buy shares in people who trade in silver or sometimes ones that mine silver than it is to actually buy silver. If you're going to look at things like actually purchasing precious metals look at someone like Birch Gold in the US or an equivilant canadian company (us has the benefit of having their cash as a hedge).

Side note - i actually DO know how to make silver bullets so if you want to go that route.... The great thing about silver bullets is when the cops come you can say "Well sure, he's not a werewolf NOW...... " And either they believe you and you get off or they believe you're nuts and you still get off.
