Hurricane Irma...

Whose job is it to name these storms anyways? Sounds like an old fashioned storm to me. I picture an old doll with a cane and a hearing aid sitting in a rocking chair.

I guess Hurricane Gladys, Alice, Gertrude and Betty are coming next.

Frankly, I haven't seen you "shoot down people" even once. You post, but it's usually incoherent.

There are a few people here whose prescription medication is not correctly dosed. There are others who I suspect use illegal drugs and/or drink to excess. Regardless of the intoxicant, the result is the same: Blathering from the sidelines. You fit the profile.

Just stop. But I do not think you can. The afflicted are rarely able to recognize their own troubles.

lol, Mr fiction! Nice to see you.
In fine form today as usual....gin?

Our big ship can't attack that little ship it it it just isn't done...NO commander would do that.
Remember that?

Yeah, you were dead in the water the first day.
so when have YOU been right about something Murph?

Cool site, but it would be nice if they could predict stuff. Euro is better.

But anyway, there is Disturbance 1 over Mexico, if that hooks up with Irma
if she manages to slip through the channel between Cuba and Florida,
You're gonna see some serious shit.

How many women or camels can you buy for a dirham ?

No selling for women, and if you insist: then either you are ignorant or unfair. I think the last one is the right one: unfair. It means: on purpose you lie.

While the camel which Jews hate (because it is the animal of the Arab land); it is relatively expensive;

its meat is very good, delicious (somewhat salty) and clean; its milk is good (a little bit salty);

so the camel is forbidden to Jews, but was not forbidden for their fathers: Abraham, Isaac or Jacob;

Jacob (Israel) forbade himself the meat of the camel because he had a disease in his bowels which prevented him from eating the camel meat.

Then when the Torah was revealed to Moses, the camel meat was forbidden for the Children of Israel, and that was a punishment and more strictness and straitning on them because of their transgression and rebellion against God and His messenger Moses.

since you have seen me do it to you on several occasions ( among others), and you aren't indicating here that you have the character to deal with it like an adult.

So, you have a different definition of 'shoot down'. In your world, it apparently means 'post something totally unrelated'

Because you have never once on this forum 'shot me down' as anyone who understands English would take it.

I don't think he's worth the bother of a response. DB is not firing on all cylinders. In his mind, he probably thinks he's king of England.

Hurricane Irma is one of the most powerful Atlantic hurricanes ever: what we know

On Tuesday, the National Weather Service reported the storm had become a Category 5 with sustained winds of 185 miles per hour. That means Irma now ranks among the most powerful hurricanes (as measured by windspeed) ever recorded.

According to the NWS, Irma is the strongest storm ever in the Atlantic (not counting those that reached the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico). And it’s not far off from the all-time record hurricane wind speed of 190 mph.

We have an evacuee from Irma in the air now, headed this way as I type. She doesn't want to (or need to) ride out the fifth largest hurricane in Atlantic history in Hollywood Fla.. When THAT place gets flooded out, they turn to cannibalism.

A very good description of the storm and the two types of forecasts both having slightly different outcomes.

An evacuation order has been put out fore the keys unlike Houston...

They said they were glad there was no evacuation order given for Houston. Many people would have drowned in their cars on the highways.

FLORIDA - Gov. Rick Scott, who in 2015 banned the use of the words "climate change" from all official communications, took swift action on Tuesday to ban the words "180 mph winds," "catastrophic flooding," and "run for your ****ing lives." - Andy Borowitz

Unlike the years of hurricane season where there were NO hurricanes...is that news in your book?

If want to put down keeping track of the news...
why are you here?

There has never been a year when there were no hurricanes; just a few years when no hurricanes hit the US. Harvey seems to have more than made up for that.

Hurricane Irma biggest Atlantic storm ever

Hurricane Irma is barrelling through the Caribbean on a course that has it poised to slam into southern Florida by the end of the week.
According to the Miami Herald, the storm is the strongest Atlantic hurricane ever recorded.
The U.S. National Hurricane Center called Irma a “potentially catastrophic” storm boasting sustained wind blasts of 285 km/h.
Irma is poised to flatten the twin-island nation of Antigua and Barbuda. Next up, Puerto Rico.
“Puerto Rico has not seen a hurricane of this magnitude in almost 100 years,” said Carlos Anselmi, a National Weather Service meteorologist in San Juan.
The latest natural disaster poised to batter the U.S. eastern seaboard has now grown into a terrifying Category 5 monster storm.
Irma comes hot on the heels of Hurricane Harvey that ripped through the Texas Gulf Coast pounding the Houston area and leaving 60 dead.
Florida Gov. Rick Scott has declared a state-wide emergency in response to Irma.
The National Weather Service fears there’s a strong likelihood that Irma will pummel the Florida Keys later this week then race up the east coast of the Sunshine State.
The centre said in a release: “Everyone in hurricane-prone areas should ensure that they have their hurricane plan in place.”
Officials expect up to 31 centimetres of rain, landslides, flash floods and seven-metre waves.
Irma was expected to rip through the Leeward Islands Tuesday night and into Wednesday with the eye of the storm about 80 kilometres from Puerto Rico.
In other Irma news:
•Hurricane warnings have been posted for Antigua and Barbuda, Anguilla, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Martin, Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Maarten and St. Barts, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. and British Virgin islands.
•Key West has made it mandatory for all tourists to leave the archipelego of Florida’s southern tip.
•Antigua closed its airport with this ominous missive: “May God protect us all.”
“The decisions that we make in the next couple of hours can make the difference between life and death,” Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rossello said. “This is an extremely dangerous storm.”

Irma is cuming

I couldn't figure out the white mountain part...
:)
I suspect it has to do with all the CIA cocaine in Miami.

Hurricane Irma Passed Over Barbuda as a Potentially Catastrophic Category 5 Hurricane; Dangerous Threat for Florida, Southeast
https://weather.com/storms/hurrican...rricane-warning-puerto-rico-leeward-islands-0

The Obama-era rules, which had not yet gone into effect, would have required the federal government to take into account the risk of flooding and sea-level rise as a result of climate change when constructing new infrastructure and rebuilding after disasters.
http://www.businessinsider.com/trum...ng-regulations-before-hurricane-harvey-2017-8

Well of course they weren't in effect: how could they when there is NO climate change involved?
It was one way to PRETEND to be helpful so Hitlary might win the selection they bought...
:)
which she didn't

I guess Trump consulted some real scientists

"Subsidence is a problem everywhere
Subsidence is a global problem and, in the United States, more than 17,000 square miles in 45 States, an area roughly the size of New Hampshire and Vermont combined, have been directly affected by subsidence.

More than 80 percent of the identified subsidence in the Nation has occurred because of exploitation of underground water , and the increasing development of land and water resources threatens to exacerbate existing land-subsidence problems and initiate new ones.

In many areas of the arid Southwest, and in more humid areas underlain by soluble rocks such as limestone, gypsum, or salt, land subsidence is an often-overlooked environmental consequence of our land- and water-use practices.
