Hey hey hey...."the runaway greenhouse effect" isn't an exponential problem. Exponentials can take breaks and have lulls. It's "green" math silly.

Global Warming Alarmists Caught Doctoring '97-Percent Consensus' Claims

Global warming alarmists and their allies in the liberal media have been caught doctoring the results of a widely cited paper asserting there is a 97-percent scientific consensus regarding human-caused global warming. After taking a closer look at the paper, investigative journalists report the authors’ claims of a 97-pecent consensus relied on the authors misclassifying the papers of some of the world’s most prominent global warming skeptics. At the same time, the authors deliberately presented a meaningless survey question so they could twist the responses to fit their own preconceived global warming alarmism.

The science of climate change is built on very firm foundations as I'm sure has been explained here many times by people like Tonington, this conspiracy theory stuff is delusional.

Most scientist who are working in the field of planetary studies are very concerned based on the science, looking at the real world effects already I think we should all be very concerned. If this last year alone is any indication then there are some very fundamental changes coming that are going to affect us all some very severely.

The timing of the seasons is all messed up now, we seem to have lost two seasons, the fall last year and the spring this year due to the loss of Arctic sea ice, who can say what will follow. We're also getting hammered with storms of epic proportions, something that has been predicted for years.

One storm did over $40 billion damage in New York alone.

Hurricane Sandy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

We're starting to see epic tornado formation.

Moore, Oklahoma Tornado Debris Would Create Mile-High Pile

These things aren't being fabricated and they have been predicted by the same science that is telling us how dangerous what we're doing is.

Hey hey hey...."the runaway greenhouse effect" isn't an exponential problem. Exponentials can take breaks and have lulls. It's "green" math silly.

A runaway greenhouse is unlikely, during the Snowball Earth phase between about 700 and 610 million years ago, the CO2 levels may have reached 50 times what they are now.

The issue now is the speed of climate change, if it proceeds too fast for most species to adapt then we'll be looking at a massive die off of many of them. This presents the very real danger of fundamental ecological collapses as keystone species are removed. Think how significant the loss of one species the Atlantic cod has been to Canada and the world then start factoring in what losing hundreds of thousands and even millions of species in the coming years will do.

The oceans are already in rapid decline, rising CO2 levels in the atmosphere also put more into the oceans. Another name for CO2 is carbonic acid and the oceans are reaching dangerous levels of acidity for key animals that make up the base of the food chain.

We don't need to hit a runaway greenhouse effect to kill off most people on the planet, we just need to crash enough of the complex biological machinery that makes life possible for most of us. And we're well on the way to doing just that.

Rising Ocean Acidity May Deplete Vital Phytoplankton : Discovery News

Rising acid levels in the world's oceans appear to be robbing the tiny animals that form the bedrock of the marine food web of a vital nutrient. This shift in the ocean's chemistry could reduce populations of phytoplankton, which could touch off a cascade of changes to ocean life.

Roughly one-third of the oceans contain phytoplankton that are limited in their growth by the amount of iron available to them. A study published today in Science, suggested that zone could grow.

"The concept of changes to ocean productivity and ecosystems due to acidification is a very important one to consider," said Ken Buesseler of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Woods Hole, Mass., who was not a part of the study. "If half of the photosynthesis on the planet is in the ocean and if you reduce that because of acidification, that is a big deal."

Oh dear... hurricanes and tornadoes are now caused by climate change. Good grief.

After Katrina these same scientist said expect more frequent hurricanes. Then the year after there were hardly any. They don't know what they are saying.

It's all about money Cobalt

8-Step Plan on How to Do Climate Science

Australian Global Warming skeptic, Simon Turnill, has just published a funny, yet frightening, piece following up on this revelation. He lays out an 8-step plan of the [modified] Scientific Method purportedly followed by fellow Australians, John Cook & Stephan Lewandowsky.
Read through it and see how many of the same tactics are employed by Suzuki et al on this continent.

That study was complete and unadulterated crap. Then again, I'd hesitate to call it science. It seemed more like a survey. Any idiot can do a survey. Torture the data long enough and it'll confess to anything.

Step 1: Develop a pseudo-science belief in a particular point of view (e.g. that human pollution does nothing to the planet);

Step 2: Convince yourself that you are morally and intellectually superior to those who hold a different view, since your view is naturally “right” and “good”, and the other is “evil” and “bad”;

Step 3: Look for ways to caricature, demean, ostracise and ridicule your ideological opponents whilst at all times avoiding any rational discussion of the subject matter in dispute;

Step 4: Find some suitably catchy phrases, like “environuts are all conspiracy theory fruitcakes who think the world is roundish” or “any science can 'prove' anything whether it is true or not“, as a preface to using erroneous "research";

Step 5: Beat, batter and torture whatever data you get until it fits said phrase;

Step 6: Use said phrase in the title of your paper so that skeptic bloggers, who never read anything beyond the title anyway, will do all the hard work for you (especially when one of your mates writes part of the story…!);

Step 7: Continue to pretend that the denial is “impartial” and of the highest standard, despite the fact that the entire world and his dog is aware of the denier's firmly held beliefs and biases. How? Mainly because they publish them every day on blogs.

Step 8: Sit back and wait for moonbat universities, governments and supposedly learned societies to award you with lotsa laughs for doing such comical nonsense, and for the congrats from oil companies, chemical companies, etc. to flood in.

Power plants around here are run by water. How much greener can you possibly get.

But the ecowennies even protest these ones.

There's no such thing as free energy. all forms of energy have their cost. Dams can create some pretty big environmental issues. They can stop salmon runs and have a prfound affect on fisheries--which in turn cascades into terrestial impacts. They raise mercury levels in the water. They can displace people--like the TSay Keh Dene when they built the Wacky Bennet dam.

Not saying dams are evil--on the contrary, BC has been very well served by them. Just saying it's naive to think they don't have impacts.

Dem Rep. Rush Holt: “Good Evidence That Millions Have Died Because Of Climate Change”…

Then let’s see it.

New Jersey Senate candidate Rush Holt is doubling down on his belief that “millions will die” if nothing is done about global warming, adding that he believes millions have already died.

“I think it’s no exaggeration at all to say that millions will die. And in fact there’s pretty good evidence that millions already have died because of climate change,” Holt, a New Jersey congressman seeking to nab Democratic nomination for Senate, told the Star-Ledger editorial board.

Dingbat politicians should keep their beaks out of science, the vast majority of them haven't the cranial capacity for it and have vastly more capacity between their chins and beaks.

Climate Scientists Blame Global Warming On . . . (Shakes Magic 8-Ball) . . . Earthquakes!…

At some point they are going to run out of things to blame global warming on.

Via Daily Mail:
Earthquakes may contribute to global warming by releasing greenhouse gas from the ocean floor, a study suggests.

Scientists uncovered evidence that a large earthquake in 1945 released more than seven million cubic metres of methane into the North Arabian Sea.

The discovery exposes a natural source of greenhouse gas emissions that has not been considered before, they claim.

As a greenhouse gas, methane is 20 times more potent than carbon dioxide, but less abundant in the atmosphere.

Enormous quantities of methane are locked in icy structures called hydrates on the floors of the continental shelves surrounding the Earth’s land masses.

An estimated 1,000 to 5,000 gigatonnes of carbon is trapped in methane hydrates – more than the total amount released by burning fossil fuels each year.
