Perhaps the worst incident at Abu Ghraib involved a girl aged 12 or 13 who screamed for help to her brother in an upper cell while stripped naked and beaten. Iraqi journalist Suhaib Badr-Addin al-Baz, who heard the girl’s screams, also witnessed an ill 15-year-old who was forced to run up and down with two heavy cans of water and beaten whenever he stopped. When he finally collapsed, guards stripped and poured cold water on him. Finally, a hooded man was brought in. When unhooded, the boy realized that the man was his father, who doubtless was being intimidated into confessing something upon sight of his brutalized son.

From this PDF obtained by The Washington Post I have transcribed a portion of an Iraqi detainees testimony to a Titan Corp translator detailing horror in Abu Gharib.
I saw REDACTED ****ing a kid, his age would be about 15 - 18 years. The kid was hurting very bad and they covered all the doors with sheets. Then when I heard the screaming I climbed the door because on top it wasn't covered, and I saw REDACTED who was in military uniform putting his dick in the little kids ass.

They put the sheets again on the door. Grainer and his helper they cuffed one prisoner in room #1, named REDACTED, he was an Iraqi citizen. They tied him to the bed and they were inserted the phosphoric light in his ass and he was yelling for God's help.

How much of a failure for our Democracy is it when the media covers up these war crimes, and instead gives us Dick and Liz Cheney to defend themselves and claim without opposition that these crimes were just fine and even necessary.
This statement was made by Kasim Mehaddi Hilas, who abused by Charles Grainer at Abu Ghraib and witnessed many photos being taken by soldiers in Abu Gharib. Many of those photos, I believe, that detail violent rape and torture are among those the Obama Administration refuses to make public.
Hilas, who was himself threatened with being sexually assaulted in Abu Graib, then describes in horrific detail how the soldier raped "the little kid".

Why would we want to drag out the war in Iraq? Why would we fuel the insurgency by raping and abusing Iraqi's right in front of other Iraqi's?
The Overtime, of course. If the job dries up, so does the money, and that makes military defense contractors cry.
These horrors were covered up by Bush/Cheney and ignored by our lapdog corporate right wing press. Sure they ran stories about torture, I must have just missed their Sunday Child Detainee Rape and Torture Edition.
This cover up has been aided by Republican and Democratic members of Congress. In my opinion nothing can save The Bush/Cheney Administration and their accomplices from justice, and the only thing that can save those members of Congress who knew of this is if they come clean NOW and aid any investigations in whatever way they can.

Please, send an e-mail or call The White House, Attorney General Eric Holder and Congress. AG Holder is said to be strongly leaning towards naming a Special Prosecutor and Congress has an obligation to investigate Bush/Cheney's policies and illegal activities. Who benefits from a prolonged invasion of Iraq? The military contractors who charged the U.S. Government whatever they felt like on their no-bid contracts, of course. That is cost plus, mind you.
And how do we make the war go on and on and on? Through abuse, torture, alienation and the rape of the population.

There are many reasons why, but to discount the random and often dubious kidnapping of Iraqis and Afghanis anywhere near a battlefield and their systematic abuse and torture, one would have to be a fool.

While General Hamid Zabar was being questioned in Iraq, his interrogators decided to arrest his frail 16-year-old son in order to produce a confession. After soldiers found the boy, he was stripped, drenched with mud and water, and exposed to the cold January night while bound and driven about in the open back of a truck. When presented naked to his father, he was shivering due to hypothermia, clearly needing medical attention.

What better way to get someone to admit to anything, anything, no matter how false, than to make them endure the torture and suffering of their own children.
After researching this diary, my attitude has changed. I say **** these soldiers who committed these crimes. There should be NO IMMUNITY for those who were just "following orders". If they did this on their own they should be severely punished. If American soldiers were ordered to rape and torture may the Gods have mercy on us all.

So, how do you manufacture an insurgency that justifies the need to "fight the war on terror there, instead of here"? How do you justify staying no matter how long to finish the job?
Well, for starters, imprisoning, beating and raping a nations sons and daughters will do the trick.
Imagine if these were Americas children. How would you react if this was your kids.
You'd probably want revenge.

The Bush Administration attempted to redefine the meaning of "child" by stating that a child by U.S. standards is 16 years old or younger, not the 18 years or younger mandate required by Geneva law. Much like the attempt to redefine "Prisoner of War" by calling captured people on or near battlefields as "enemy combatants", the Bush Administration insisted on making up the rules as they went along. Even then, by their own new standard of what is legal the Bush Administration was still acting outside even their own newest version of the law.
According to Michael Hass at least 800 children between the ages of 10 and 15 years old were captured in Afghanistan, of which 64 were sent to Guantanamo bay.
Haas notes that Protocol 1 of the 1977 Geneva Convention states "No Party to the conflict shall arrange for the evacuation of children, other than its own nationals, to a foreign country" unless written consent of the parents is obtained.

Alan David Berlin, 40, a longtime staffer for a Republican state lawmaker, was charged on May 29, 2009 with a first degree felony for unlawful contact with a minor. He is also charged with criminal attempted sexual exploitation of children, criminal solicitation to commit sexual abuse of children, all second-degree felonies, and other offenses. authorities say Berlin suggested dressing up in animal costumes during online sex chats with a 15-year-old boy. During a search, agents found wolf- and cat-type costumes in his home.
Republican sex offender & former Regent University law school assistant dean Stephen L. McPherson, who was indicted June 7, 2008 on 13 felony sexual assault charges involving two girls, has entered a guilty plea to two counts of forcible sodomy and two counts of object sexual penetration. He is set to be sentenced May 22. There was no agreement on a potential sentence, except that prosecutors will recommend a cap of 18 years and six months.
Republican sex offender and former North Country assemblyman and current state Parole Board member, George "Chris" Ortloff, 61, was arrested on Monday, Oct. 13, 2008 on federal charges that he used the Internet to solicit sex with minors. He was arrested following a sting operation at a Colonie motel and had allegedly arranged for a date with a minor he met on the Internet. '' The New York Post reports that he had child pornography and sex paraphernalia in his possession when he was arrested. State Police reportedly searched Ortloff'''s home in Plattsburgh and a computer had been seized from his Lake Placid real estate office, officials said. Ortloff, married with two sons, retired from the Assembly in 2006 having represented the 110 th District. '' He was appointed to the part-time position on the Parole Board, a six year term which expires in 2012, a position paying him $102,000 a year.
Republican sex offender & Missouri State Rep. Scott Muschany, (R)-Frontenac, was indicted today, Aug 6, 2008, in connection with a reported sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl on May 17, the day after this year’s Legislative session ended. The alleged victim is the daughter of a state employee. The girl’s mother and Muschany, a married father of 2 children, were romantically involved, the woman said. (Aren't "Family Values" a wonderful thing?) In a morbid twist of irony, Muschany was a co-sponsor of legislation that toughened sex offender laws in 2006. According to his legislative biography, Muschany and his wife were licensed as foster parents with the Division of Family Services.
Republican sex offender & longtime stalwart Republican operative Peter Hong was arrested July 23, 2008 for solicitation of prostitution. Police spokesman Peter Panos said that the arrest came during the first day of a two-day sting operation during which "johns" and prostitutes responded to ads placed on the Internet and in print. Thirty-five people were arrested Wednesday and Thursday, Panos said today.
Republican sex offender & candidate for Mineral County (W.Va.) Commission Wilton Frederick Bland, 30, of Bayberry Place, was arrested March 23, 2007, after police received a complaint concerning a juvenile boy who said Bland had wanted him to appear nude on the Internet. Bland charged last year with 136 counts related to sexually based crimes against children has been sentenced to a possible total of 85 years after pleading guilty in both Grant and Mineral counties. was charged at the time with 73 counts of possession of child pornography, 45 counts of sexual assault in the first degree for allegedly having sex with a child under age 11, nine counts of use of obscene matter with intent to seduce a minor, seven counts of display of obscene matter to a minor and two counts of employing a minor to do sexually explicit conduct, according to the West Virginia State Police.
Republican Delegate Robert McKee, known as an advocate for children's rights, is the focus of a child pornography investigation after officers searched his Hagerstown, Md home. McKee is not facing any charges right now, but as of today, Feb 15, 2008, he has resigned his position as both a state delegate and as executive director of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Club of Washington County. In a statement, McKee said he is entering treatment to, "get well and stay well." Shock waves echoed through Hagerstown, as the news that he was being investigated for child pornography spread like wildfire.
**We will be keeping an eye on this story for further developments** ***UPDATE*** - Robert Mckee entered a guilty plea of possessing child porn on September 6, 2008. He was sentenced to 3 years in prison on November 21, 2008. McKee's journals document that he simultaneously printed images of child pornography from the Internet and printed stories describing sexual acts between young boys and other young boys or adult men. Someone from McKee's home called the Washington County Sheriff's Department to tip off authorities and provided them with printed images from a computer.
Republican sex offender & Department of Children & Families press secretary Al Zimmerman, 40, was arrested Friday, Feb 1, 2008 and charged with eight felony charges of using a child in a sexual performance. According to an arrest report, Zimmerman offered two teens money in exchange for photographing them in sexual acts. The victims were ages 16 and 17 at the time of the crime, and at least one may have been in the care of DCF at one point, according to the report. Authorities believe some of the images date back to December 2005, the arrest report showed. Zimmerman is suspected of taking photos as recently as Friday, the report showed.
The Republican Mayor, who is also the Pastor of the Temple Lot Church in Collins Missouri, a town in St. Clair County, is accused of trying to convince someone whom he thought was a teenage girl to meet him for sex. Diamond police say Allen D Kauffman is charged in Newton County with four counts of enticement of a child after an online investigation that began in mid-November.
Diamond Police Detective Jim Murray says he posed as a 13-year-old girl named Cindy and was approached by a man who used the screen name duke dukeadk on Nov. 15 about noon in an online chat room.
Murray says Kauffman discussed meeting her to take nude photos and to have sex. Over the course of seven conversations during the past two months, transcripts show each chat was sexually graphic. Murray say Kauffman recognized the girl’s age, and even showed some hesitation, teasing the girl about whether she could be a cop.
Police say Kauffman repeatedly asked the girl to use a webcam, and didn't wait long to use his. The detective saved some photos from a webcam on Kauffman's computer in his home in Collins.
Republican Party Chairman Donald Fleischman, 37, of Allouez, Wisconsin was charged last month with two counts of child enticement, two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a child and a single charge of exposing himself to a child for allegedly fondling a 16-year-old Ethan House runaway and providing the boy with beer and marijuana late last year.
Republican U.S. Justice Department official John David R. Atchison, 53, an assistant U.S. attorney from the northern district of Florida, has been arrested on suspicion of traveling to Detroit over the weekend to have sex with a 5 year old child. An undercover officer posed as a mother offering her child to Atchison for sex, according to police. In deposition, detectives said Atchison suggested the mother tell her daughter that "you found her a sweet boyfriend who will bring her presents." The undercover detective expressed concern about physical injury to the 5-year-old girl as a result of the sexual activity. Detectives said Atchison responded, " I am always gentle and loving; not to worry, no damage ever, no rough stuff ever. I only like it soft and nice." The undercover detective asked how Atchison can be certain of no injury. He responded, "Just gotta go slow and very easy. I've done it plenty," according to detectives.

Morgan Stanley Sets Aside 72% of Revenue to Pay Bonuses
'Morgan Stanley is setting aside a huge sum to pay out bonuses despite posting its third consecutive quarterly loss and admitting it is disappointed with key departments.
The US bank's latest results show it is allocating $3.9bn (£2.36bn) for paying out to staff, 72% of its net revenues. That dwarfs the percentage of revenue set aside by arch rival Goldman Sachs, where workers are on track for large bonuses after record results last week.'

“Officers who used pepper spray and a Taser to remove a man from a store bathroom found out only later he was deaf and mentally disabled and didn’t understand they wanted him to open the door, police said Tuesday,” the Associated Press reports. “A spokesman for the Mobile Police Department said the officers’ actions were justified because the man was armed with a potential weapon — an umbrella.

themselves away though when the same buzz line gets repeated over and over again. When politicians speak always listen to what they don't say, that is where the truth is. Finance is a current example, all the politicians and salesmen on
commission are telling us the recession is over when clearly the worst is yet to come. Our government wants us to both save and spend sort of the way the feds
do it until we are all broke. The lies that are being told by government would
surprise even the skeptical

Freedom Campaigner John Wilson In Jail Under New Law 'The Mental Health Act'

Police came to arrest him on Thursday 16-7-09. The first officer went away on John asking for a warrant and telling him he was trespassing. Reply by police -We don't need a warrant we are the police.
A couple of hours later they came back in force. As John was videoing all these goings on, they started on the screen door with a crowbar. After damaging the screen door and going to start on the main door, John said to them to hold off and he would open the door. He put the camera down and opened the door whereupon they proceeded to attack him They had him on the ground, one had him in a head lock, another jumped on his back and had his knees compressing his chest so he could hardly breath. John said that he thought that he was going to die, the copper that was on top of him said "That will teach you".
All this without a warrant and no charge. They are apparently acting under a new law, the mental health Act.

21 Year Old Youth Executed By San Bernardino Police
'A 21 year old man by the name Cedric May was executed by San Bernardino Police on Monday, August 24, 2009. It happened on Wall Ave., a small alley in San Bernardino, right next to his family member’s home the day after he was released from incarceration for marijuana sales. He was picking up a piece of a barbecue to celebrate his release from incarceration and his decision to clean up his act.
The story given by the officers involved is that they saw a young man running down the alley and get into a vehicle that was parked on the wrong side of the road. They claim that, when they went to investigate, Mr. May grabbed the officer by the genitals, squeezed them, grabbed his tazer and pointed it in the officer’s face. At this point, the officer’s partner supposedly was forced to shoot Mr. May to death.
Video footage shared with this reporter indicates that these reports are untrue, entirely.'

The 7-minute video from TJefferson's Ghost is one of the best I've ever seen in economics. It begins with Federal Reserve Chair Ben Bernanke threatening an economic crash if Congress audits the Fed, moves to revelaing headlines of financial corporate profits after taxpayers socialized their gambling losses, then closes with Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner telling Congress that TARP is really a pertetual line of $700 billion credit for him to do with as he pleases as long as Bernanke agrees. That means, if Treasury can sell the troubled assets, that money returns to Geithner's private reserve to buy more assets. As you may know, Harvard's Elizabeth Warren, the chair for the Oversight Panel, reported to the Senate that Treasury is over-paying corporations by about 50%.

Diss the Cops, Get Shot in Court

About three decades ago, when he was a banjo-toting stand-up comedian rather than an actor and screenwriter, Steve Martin made the jocular suggestion that crime could be radically reduced through the imposition of the death penalty for traffic violations.
As is so often the case, government policy appears to have overtaken parody, at least in Jericho, Arkansas:
“It was just too much, having to return to court twice on the same day to contest yet another traffic ticket, and Fire Chief Don Payne didn’t hesitate to tell the judge what he thought of the police and their speed traps. The response from cops? They shot him. Right there in court.”

Until 1990, Jericho was patrolled by the county sheriff’s office, but otherwise blessedly free of armed tax-feeders. That changed when the town received a grant to create a police force, and the population has been suffering ever since: The badge-flashing gangsters are plucking the impoverished population bald through speed traps and other corrupt, opportunistic “enforcement” shakedowns.
Former Jericho resident Larry Harris complains, “You can’t even buy a loaf of bread, but we’ve got seven police officers.” Harris is one of many former residents who have literally been driven from the town by police harassment.
The attempted murder of Fire Chief Payne took place when he went to court to complain about a bogus ticket that was apparently written in retaliation for Payne’s decision to protest an earlier ticket in court.
Although the details are sketchy, Payne ended up in a confrontation with the entire seven-officer police force, which degenerated into what was described as a “scuffle” (and is more accurately described as an act of gang violence against Payne).
Displaying the kind of heroism that increasingly typifies our stalwart enforcers of the law, one of Payne’s assailants drew his firearm and shot the badly out-numbered victim in the hip.
The local judge has started — belatedly — to dismiss the bogus tickets, and the town police force has been temporarily disbanded. Since that force is filling a much needed void, nothing less than its abolition will suffice.

President Hamid Karzai takes 100% of votes in opposition stronghold

In the southern Afghan district of Shorabak, the tribesmen gathered shortly before last month’s presidential election to discuss which candidate they would back. After a debate they chose to endorse Abdullah Abdullah, President Hamid Karzai’s leading opponent.
The tribal leaders prepared to deliver a landslide for Abdullah – but it never happened. They claim Ahmed Wali Karzai, the president’s brother and leader of the Kandahar provincial council, detained the local governor and closed all the district’s 46 polling sites on election day.
The ballot boxes were taken back to the district headquarters where, tribal leaders allege, they were stuffed with ballots by local policemen. A total of 23,900 ballots were finally sent off to Kabul, the capital – every one of them a vote for Karzai.
