Really? I think Boston will be the tougher of the two.

Plus Boston and Vancouver would be a classic matchup. Two cities where people know they have teams. Aren't Tampa Bay residents going to seaworld or lawn bowling at this time of year?

In my opinion, they won't be. Their gameplay has been sloppy for a lot of this series, and Tim Thomas continually lets in the early goal(which can be back-breaking to the team). I think that both Boston and Tampa Bay are tough teams(otherwise they wouldn't have made it as far as they did), but I would prefer watching a Boston/Vancouver matchup.

That could be a dangerous assumption.

He'll talk about the Leafs. ;)

who ????????
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
tampa bay defeated pittsburg, who were definitely not 100%, missing key players, as we all know, but pittsburg were up on them 3 games to zip, so tampa bay lucked
out in that one, pittsburg just didn't have the horses to get it done.

washington self destructed against tampa bay, hence, t.b. moved on

boston is quite capable of beating tampa bay, but they take stupid penalties and forget their
game plan, can't stay focused, and some players are a bit slow at making instant decision and
getting their feet going.

this is boston's series to win, 'if' they can think straight and focus on the game for 60 minutes.
thomas isn't consistent, probably beginning to burn out a little, he's a very emotional goalie,
and he doesn't preserve energy in goal, he throws himself all over the place, which must be
very draining.

tampa bay have good offense, but they are not a deep team, they can be had, by a smart diciplined
two way team.

I think tampa bay have lots of canadian snow birds who stay their all winter, go to games, but
at this time of the year, I would imagine they have gone home.

Problem is, do we really want to see much more of Guy Boucher? Guy's degree of self-importance is a little too nauseating for my liking.

I wonder who knifed him in an alley at some point. He has a trap style he makes them play, for a
while, then makes them play offensive, then back to the trap again, but
that 'trap stuff' hasn't been working too well, so I think he has gone to plan B, or maybe its C or ?

Is that what happened to his face? I often wondered about the scar and thought maybe a car accident or a skate blade - did he play hockey before he coached????

I must say he is 'entertaining' to watch - the way he flies off the handle so often. In contrast Julien - I think that is the Boston coach's name - looks almost comatose - though I do get a kick out of the way he huffs and puffs out his cheeks when upset. LOL!

I still say neither of those teams will present much of a hurdle for the Canucks. They just don't play consistently well whether it is coaching or individual player mistakes, I can't see them holding up to the depth of the Canucks. Just hope whoever wins, and I am still cheering Boston on, makes the series an exciting one to watch.

I hope you're not holding the Canucks out as an example of consistent play!!!

I'm hoping for the Canucks, but I want to see a Canucks/Lightning final.

The Canucks are a good example of consistent play when they have to be. They've consistently won the first, second and third round & I think they are consistent enough to win the fourth.

I actually don't know what happened to his face, I was just being a smart ass.

I'm sure he must have played hockey, and I know he has a sports type of degree from university,
whether its sports medicine or sports psychology, i'm not sure.

I'm glad vineault is canucks coach, hope he stays for a long time, i've seen many coaches come
and go for vancouver, and he's the best.

It seems that way, but I can't even go there, I have to see a game first, it is too easy to make
those comparison from our vantage point, but I want to see the games, and see if that is the case,
they are all good players, and when two teams come together it is a dance between two styles and
types of players and coaches, and how two certain teams play against each other, doesn't tell us just
how those two teams will play against other teams.

The goalies are 'key' as to how the games will play out.

I have listened to two different interviews with bieksa, what an intelligent and congenial guy he is,
he talked about his home life between games and the different series, and said its not different from
anybody else, he is in the middle of moving right now, packing boxes up and down the elevator and
going through the hectic business of moving, just like anybody does.

(I think his house and my house are probably quite different) lol, but thats OK, I haven't had to
go through the gruelling life of a hockey player since I was a kid, twice he had his leg sliced open
by a skate blade, which took months to heal, and caused him to have to retrain all over, and literally
start over, only to hear the fans criticize him because he isn't playing at top form.
Playing in the vancouver hockey market is not easy either, such demands on a player to play at the
top of their game, every game, or the fans sulk and whine and demand you be traded, and call you
names and whine again about how much money you make, all of that is worth lots of money in my opinion.

If it was me, I would announce to the fans once a week, what they could do with their demands on my
job, 'shove it where the sun don't shine', (sideways). lol

Great first period. No penalties. No score, but Boston just slightly out shot TB.

I wish Mighty Mouse played for the Canucks - littlest guy out there with the biggest heart - I love to watch this guy play hockey.

Steven Stamkos got a rocket in the face from Horton and had to leave the ice for several minutes but did come back into the game, though his poor nose is a mess and he obviously is in pain.

Still no score. Still no penalties. Roloson has stopped 29 shots by far much busier than Timmie tonight. 14 - 8 were the shots for Boston in the 2nd period.

this game could go on all night, but I get the feeling some fluky shot will find the back of the net,
for either team, although boston looks like the better team tonight, IF they can keep up this diciplined
play, and don't get sluggish, they should win, BUT, the grey area is SO big, goalies have to be
sharp as tacks.

(side note, i'm so excited) just came home from morningstar golf course, where they had a big
qualifying golf tournament, and my grandson has qualified for the canadian tour, so now he is full
fledged member, and he will try to qualify for the Canadian Open in a couple of weeks), there, I
got it off of my chest, I was bursting, sorry to go off topic. yippee

Eastern Conference Champions - the Boston Bruins!

Awesome, Vancouver vs an original six. What a classic!

Not one penalty for the entire game! What a final. I really feel for the Bolts - but Boston stayed disciplined and did not allow TB to get any PP. Roloson was great in goal. Timmie was solid but Boston outshot TB all night so he wasn`t really busy.

Final score: 1 - 0 I am just tickled for Boston. They aren`t touching the trophy either.

Oh, talloola - that is great news. How wonderful for your grandson -- I wish him luck in qualifying for the Open.

It wasn`t so much flukey as extremely well executed play that got the goal for Boston, don`t you think.

This is going to be a grand Stanley Cup!

it was a very good goal, and congratulations to the bruins, they played a very good game, and had they
played that way in other games, they would have achieved this victory earlier on.

they stuck to their game plan, played a good two way game, and thomas was stellar, and they got it done.GO, CANUCKS, GO![/

Here's a bit of Stanley Cup trivia for you. This is the first time in 20 years that no penalties were called in a Stanley Cup play-off game. And, this Stanley Cup will see the greatest distance between opponents in the history of the Cup. Got all that off TSN after the game.
