I don't quite know what it will take for them to realize that this isn't the regular season and this isn't Sweden.
Nothing can motivate people who refuse to be moved-they have proved they are not all that interested and the party is all but over-if not with Nashville then with San Jose.

Would breaking up the twins do much?

I dunno.

No more predictions for me - I can see why one is hesitant to do so when a game like this can so easily be turned on its head. Ryan Kesler is still my biggest hero for the team - that guy just never gives up. When I saw him take that puck in the jaw, my heart almost stopped but he is a true Warrior and came right back as if nothing happened. I also have to comment on Shea Webber, the guy is a Kesler for the Preds - just keeps on going like the energizer bunny. It was neat to see Ryan beat him on the goal though.

Now I will just go with hope - hope that the Cannucks pull it together and hope they finish the series in Nashville. Would be nice to see them get some rest between series.

GO, CANNUCKS, GO!

My daughter is playing spring hockey, one of the girls on the other team got a breakway this morning, stormed in, fired a shot, it went off the post.

I looked at her father and said, 'You'll have to change her last name to Sedin...'

Sedins aren't good skaters to begin, and with no playoff second gear they look like molasses. They're pathetic in their own end. I'd make Henrik a healthy scratch. Put Tambellini in the lineup. He couldn't possibly be any worse.

the only thing tambolini can do better than them is skate, other than that he can't make a successful play
to save his life, that is why he 'sits', and he is no better than the sedins with
the physical side of the game either.
We mentioned so many times that he skates really fast up and down the ice, but that
is the end of it.
The sedins are the real problem, I know that, canucks need the scoring they did
during the regular season, but they can't handle the physical play, and I'm afraid
that is just the way it is, and next year gillis will have to address that problem,
and build another line that will transfer to playoffs successfully, and also play
regular season at a high level too.

If they get through this series, then the next will be even harder, but at least
san jose and detroit don't play such a tight game, a little more flow, and more
offense, so the games will be more exciting and interesting, and it would be nice
if canucks can be a part of that.

Gillis can trade schneider, he will get a good return for him, and he has other
irons in the fire too, with other young players he has signed from different places.
Eddie Lach is the 'huge' goalie, 6ft 6in, in manitoba, he is extremely good,
so he could come up as luongo's backup.

We musn't give up quite yet, they might snap right back next game and win, and they
might do what they did against chicago, and they might not make it at all, they
still have two chances.

I imagine oreskovitch will be in the lineup taking samuelsson's place next game,
and that will help, as samuelsson was not playing well either.

I once again have to question the officiating. I had it at 7 or 8pp for Van and 3 or 4pp for Nash and 1 should have been a 5 on 3 in our favor if they had just called the game moderately. It seems like the whisltes are in the pocket full time which is a benefit to the underdog as they are taking liberties with our players and will keep doing so untill they get a few calls against them. I know I'm a little biased but one thing that has always bothered me throughout the years is if it is a penalty in the first period of the first game of the regular season it is a penalty in the third period of game seven of the finals but it is never called that way. Really gets me going as someone who has reffed before. Took quite some stick from a coach in the bantam playoffs once because I called his guy with 3 minutes left in the game while they were down, I actually had to toss the coach, but like I said, its a penalty all the time and the timing or situation shouldn't matter. That's my rant about that for tonight.

the officiating is definitely very different in the playoffs, so many infractions out there, it is a
war, and to a point I don't mind that, but they aren't really good enough to keep it fair, they
need a calculator. lol

we came out on the good end of that one call that was exactly like the one that kesler drew the other
night, only this time they called the guy holding the stick, both players are actually committing an
infraction, either ignore the play, or call both players.

sedins cannot handle this kind of physicality, it is very tough out there, and they just buckle under
the pressue, I don't know if they think they will draw penalties, but one would think they have caught
on now, and those will 'not' be called, unless it very blatant.

nashville will be really 'pumped' tomorrow, they must feel like they can win this series now, and maybe
they are right, BUT it is easy to get discouraged after a game like that, so just like you, I'm just
going to watch and hope.

GO CANUCKS GO

I wonder, that question gets asked from time to time, they were just talking about it on the radio
the other day, but it really seems out of the question, as to begin with, you would have to upset
other lines, and other lines don't need to be tampered with.

I can't see improvement by splitting them up, they have to find a way of improving themselves,
they played at a very high level all season, and now they have to 'find' a way to do the same in
the playoffs, and if they can't, then next season there will be changes, don't think sedins will
go anywhere else, (well, one never knows, their contracts aren't that high), I just think other
players will make the team, and the team will take on a change, and become a better playoff team.
There is no need to change too much, it is a very good team, so tinker without big changes.

well, some good news, detroit came from behind to defeat san jose in the third period 4-3, so that
series goes back to detroit again, and I hope detroit win again and take it to a 7th game.

OK, can we breath now?, can we know that they didn't score with 2 minutes left, can we know that
they will get to rest for once and watch others battle, can we know that we can let our hearts
settle down and beat properly, I think I know that, but I just can't come back to normal that
fast, I haven't had much of a celebration, guess i'm more relieved than happy.

Maybe the guys can have a mothers day with their families now, and relax for a couple of days,
but not too long, then back at it again.

yes kesler is out of his mind, hope he stays there. (did anybody notice I had
kreskin's name there instead of kesler), hmmm, maybe I should have left it there. lol (a freudian slip?) hmmmm lol

lets all tune in and watch detroit/san jose tomorrow, and cheer for detroit, then watch game
7 on thursday, as they battle each other, doesn't matter what team wins that one,
canucks will be ready for the winner, and will turn them into a loser.

You sound happy! It's getting easier every round, next round in five against Detroit!

Oh yeah! Happy for the Cannucks and their fans and happy that I found my heart was still beating after those last few minutes of the game. I think I stopped breathing, waiting for a goal from the Preds to tie the game.

I was agreeing with the commentators in the 1rst, thinking that one more penalty and the Preds would have to get a goal - excellent penalty killing but geez guys - did we need to be shown how good you are at it again

Couldn't believe that first goal by the Preds - another flukey one after that one in the last game off Lu's head.

Nice play by Tambolini to prevent the break away in the second - good effort.

Thought the guys kind of skated through the second period but they were gangbusters in the 3rd, rarely allowing the Preds out of their zone.

Yes, Ryan is a Monster and a Warrior and the leading scorer in the play-offs at the moment. Ryan Rocks!

Nice goal by Daniel too, more like his usual effort wouldn't you say?

GO, CANNUCKS, GO!

Yep, kind of hope it's Detroit- for two reasons delay the next round and they are an easier opponent.

they announced on team 1040 this morning, that canucks will start next series on sunday, and boston
tampa bay will start saturday, so I guess it doesn't matter if detroit/san jose play another one or
not, but I still hope they go 7.

Oh, talloola........... is this a prediction I see here???

oh yes, i'm feelin quite arrogant right now, will blab anything, but time will send me back
into my shell, and I won't predict anything. lol

Well, a little celebration might be in order but not too much, we are only half way there.

Even though we won the officiating was bad again, not really biased too much, but very inconsistent.

I hope we get to play San Jose just for the travel aspect although Detroit with its inconsistent play and half the team injured may be the easier opponent, I don't know.

I still saw a bunch of problems handling the puck in our own end and clearing the zone, as we move forward this has to change. The twins are still not playing up to par IMHO, I keep going on about it but it only gets more physical from here and they have shown they can't keep up, I'm worried about it.

Hopefully a few days rest and a coupe of practices will help sort out the issues.

GO CANUCKS GO!!!
