why -

it would be nice to win this series first, then skip over san jose, who will probably
win their series tonight or the next game.

then I wouldn't care if it was boston or tampa bay.

At this point it's all speculation. I'm speculating they can handle S.J. if they play their best game and I feel Boston maybe less formidable than Tampa BAy. J.M.O.

at this exact point in the playoffs, and from what I have seen recently, I feel san jose is the
strongest team still alive, and are playing the best, have scoring from quite a few different
players, they are big, goalie is playing good, and they are very very hungry.

The last game canucks played san jose was a great game, canucks won it in a shoot out I think,
but could have gone to either one.

Since then, san jose has come into the playoffs and improved their scoring power, they are very
deep right now, and canucks have gone the other way, only getting scoring from one top player,
and a few goals scattered around, here and there.

I would like to see boston knock off tampa bay, they are playing great, and with
tim thomas in goal, they will be hard to beat.I do like some of the players on the tampa bay
team, but that new coach they have is irritating, he looks like he is 'wired' on something, and
his media interviews are ridiculous.

If detroit, san jose or canucks meet either boston or tampa bay in the final, I think the west
will prevail, as long as they bring their A game, the west has been stronger than the east all
season, no point in changing that now.
that is my speculation.

if nashville get by canucks, I think that is as far as they will go.

Nashville is toast............99% guaranteed.......you have to be able to score goals to win. Just hope Detroit can take a couple more before they go down.

So theoratically the second round could end tomorrow witha Canucks win tonight and a Sharks win tomorrow. Has anyone heard any talk of moving the start of round 3 forward if this happens?

I imagine the arenas would already be booked.

I added a little more to my recipe

Up two goals at the end of the 2nd period and play the entire 3rd at Nashville's end of the ice and no penalties.

I think if possible it would be a good idea rather than having teams take a week off. I can understand a 3 day break but I imagine that if they can finish the cup early they would want to. But then again, maybe not.

haven't heard anything, I just want to see canucks win, and have at least 3 days off, and I hope
detroit win 2 more times and take it to game 7

don't know what they will do if san jose and canucks both win, probably start earlier I guess,
depends on availability of buildings as JLM stated.

that short handed goal, then the fluky goal, surly took the wind out of canucks, they were
so much in the drivers seat, but 'stuff' happened, and they gradually lost their advantage,
and their enthusiasm.

Don't quite understand why canucks can't score off of someone's head, or other body parts,
with all of those shots you'd think one of them would redirect into the net, but 'nope', that
was not going to happen tonight.

That fluky goal fired up nashville big time, they realized they were still in this game, and
good things were happening for them, so they turned up their game, at the same time canucks were
turning their's down.

I felt sorry for canucks, because they lost the momentum, and became the underdog in this game,
and began making mistakes, overplaying the puck, trying too hard, and lost their flow alltogether,
and time was not in their favour, maybe if they had scored that 3rd goal a little earlier, they
could have tied it up, but that was not to be.

It's easy to see how that game went right out of canucks reach, and nashville grabbed it and ran
with it, and they now feel so good about themselves, and they will go back to nashville feeling
just the same as canucks felt coming home yesterday, only nashville can't finish canucks off
next game, and canucks can still do that, remind you of another series?, 3 guesses, and the first
two don't count. lol

Sedins handled the puck lots tonight, controlled the puck lots, BUT, they can't
make dangerous scoring chances out of those times with the puck, but it is still
better than losing it while they are in their own end. I see improvement in
their game, but they are not going to win this series for the team, they need
others to do that, but they do contribute, but not at the level expected from them.

I've got a blasting headache now, too much tension for all that time, I need to refocus my life
now, and look elsewhere, so I will find a movie to watch in bed, and tomorrow I am going to my
daughters place, and other daughters and grandchildren will be there to 'celebrate' mothers day.
how lucky I am.

GO CANUCKS GO.

The twins are definitely still playing like it is game 20 of the regular season. These guys have to learn to get physical or we will be on the golf course soon. I don't quite know what it will take for them to realize that this isn't the regular season and this isn't Sweden. Until they start throwing a hit or 2 they will keep getting mugged and have trouble playing like they should.

We seem to have had a bunch of trouble handling the puck, especially in our own end, since game 3 against Chicago, like everyone is griping the stick too tight. Looks like nashville has now figured out, like Chicago did, that if you get heavy pressure on our D they will cough it up more times than not. Hard to say what exactly it is since they were so good during the season but they don't look the same.

I think it might be worth our while to take a couple of penalties on Renne early in game 6 to see if we can rattle him. Not the kind of ting that is usually coached but this guy is wearing horseshoes behind his pads and we are going to have to change that somehow.

I once again have to question the officiating. I had it at 7 or 8pp for Van and 3 or 4pp for Nash and 1 should have been a 5 on 3 in our favor if they had just called the game moderately. It seems like the whisltes are in the pocket full time which is a benefit to the underdog as they are taking liberties with our players and will keep doing so untill they get a few calls against them. I know I'm a little biased but one thing that has always bothered me throughout the years is if it is a penalty in the first period of the first game of the regular season it is a penalty in the third period of game seven of the finals but it is never called that way. Really gets me going as someone who has reffed before. Took quite some stick from a coach in the bantam playoffs once because I called his guy with 3 minutes left in the game while they were down, I actually had to toss the coach, but like I said, its a penalty all the time and the timing or situation shouldn't matter. That's my rant about that for tonight.
