Nice game tonight, good to see kesler scoring again, and also mason raymond, perfect timing, gives
them confidence to score goals again, going into playoffs.

luongo was so solid, sure it was 5-0, but he did make some difficult saves and helped his shutout
cause big time.

daniel got 2 points, needs a couple more on saturday, and he should be good to go for the art ross,
but we'll have to watch anaheim tomorrow and see how perry does.

I think hamhuis will play on saturday.

I think oreskovitch is on his way back to vancouver, he will take torres place, plans were to bring
him back anyway, but they had to wait till season was over, not now, with torres out.

i'm sure schneider will play saturday

I really like raymond in malhotra's spot, he is the best one to be there since malhotra has been
gone.

that presidents' cup is very handsome indeed.

i'll have to dig out my canuck flags, i've got a couple somewhere tucked away. starting to get
excited now, the little season after the big season, will be fun, i'm looking forward to it.

still quite touchy at the bottom of our northwest division.

dallas won tonight, and can still catch chicago, and chicago have a home and home with detroit,
and dallas play colorado again, then minnesota.

between anaheim, chicago and dallas, interesting changes can take place depending who wins and
loses, and if the above all win, even phoenix could drop down to 8th, if they don't win their
remaining games, will be intersting to see
how all of those games turn out.

Yes T it was a great game. Kind of made a statement to the rest of the league who may have thught the boys were fading out.

Yes, Hamhuis should play and they confirmed it will be Corey in net on Saturday, it gives him 25 appearances so his name goes on the Jennings trophy if Vancouver wins it and he deserves that for such a great season as a back-up. You are also correct that Igor is on his way to be with the team, he was planned to be available as a spare anyway so he is just coming up a few days early.

Doesn't look like anyone is getting rested against Calgary and that is good or else they would have had a week off to lose their legs and get lazy.

I hope Daniel can snag 2 points or more on Sat to sew up the Art-Ross, could be a major year for hardware on the west coast, I am excited to see the announcements come out.

Things definitely are not set yet in the West. Nashville or Pheonix could still finish as low as 9th and Chicago or Anaheim could still miss out or move to 5th, nothing will be final until the last game I think. Should be a wild finish.

Flags are ready for the windows and the towel (though much faded from) is at the ready.

GO CANUCKS GO!!!!!!

Good comeback.

A meaningless regular season game against a crap team that Montreal beat 8-1 a few weeks ago?

Sorry, I still have doubts.

Let's be consistent, don't recall you suggesting the games against Edmonton were meaningless games against a "crap" team. Actually there is no such thing as a "crap team" - all the teams in the league are within about 5% of each other in their ability and ANY team can win or lose to any other team. That is why the playoff rounds are 7 games each- that establishes a fair comparison between the two teams. There are a lot of intangibles that go into winning or losing a game that have nothing to do with the players...........the refs, the ice, the boards, the fans, a lucky deflection..........none of which are any indication of the ability of the players.

yes, you're right, as I went through standings again last night, from 4th to 9th they all could
play musical chairs, dallas will know just how they need to play after every one else has finished,
so that last game could be a doozer, if it becomes meaningful for dallas.

It's different when you lose to a crap team.

5%? Are you serious?

The team with 115 points is 5% different than a team with 61?

You think Vancouver is playoff ready because of a regular season record, I base it on the previous few years they were there.

Which is why I think the Flyers have a good shot at winning it all.

They have proven themselves to be a playoff team and have had a very good season compared to last year when they made it to the final despite so-so goal tending and key injuries.

I've explained my reasoning very well and flushed your numbers down the toilet.

Let's hope that the Canucks can pull it off and take home the prom queen....but again...I have valid doubts and you know they are valid.

So many are looking at the last two weeks of exhibition games the Canucks have been forced to dress for and feel it's the team they'll see in the playoffs. This team has been very strong, when games have actually meant anything. It wouldn't surprise me if they ran the table to end the first series.

these last two weeks have actually been very valuable to the canucks, gives them time to get the
team in order, malhotra going out, caused quite a vacancy, and it took a few trys of different
players till now raymond seems to be embracing that position.

it gave more time for edler to come back, and hamhuis will play on saturday after slight concussion
again.
gave vineault a good look at higgins and lapierre, to realize that higgins is a gem and lapierre not
so much.

this time tests the character of the team, and now as playoffs approach the team is becoming healthy
again, and for the first time this season, the top 6 defencemen will play together, we have not seen
them on the ice together yet, remember salo didn't start the season at all.

you call them exhibitions games, I call the time an important adjustment period between winning the presidents'
cup, and the transition from that victory to the new 'little' season called the playoffs, and the
journey to the stanley cup.

An important two weeks I think.

Aaron Rome has really stepped up his game of late-he's not the most talented player but has a lot of try and contributes his share.

Agree about Lapierre most night's his name is barely mentioned.

yeah, i'm not impressed with lapierre at all, hundreds of players can do what he does,
but he was cheap, no loss for the canucks to give him a try, but don't see much there
at all, and it really showed when he was put at center for the third line, a complete
bust, has no play making ability at all, don't know how he ever got a centerman diploma. lol
He does OK checking on the 4th line, but i'd much rather see oreskovitch in the lineup than him.

Aaron Rome has really become a canuck this season, and tonight he will play as a forward to fill
in for torres, interesting.

Just chicago and dallas left now who have not clinched a playoff spot, that will probably happen
tonight, but if not, then tomorrows game for dallas will do it.

rangers and hurricanes will play their games tonight fighting for the 8th spot in the east.

cory perry did not get any points last night, sallane scored both anaheim's goals, so he is
still 5 points behind daniel, hope he stays there.

hurricanes had the control tonight over their own destiny, couldn't rise to the occasion,
lost to tampa bay, so rangers are in hurricanes are out.

the east is set.

I would rather see Igor too. I think we might see Lapierre leave during the summer, he really added nothing to the team at all.

Will definitely be interesting to see Rome try to play forward, does anyone know if has ever played up front regularly before?

I'm thinking these stats are goofy, I think Chicago has already clinched 8th spot. If Chicago loses and Dallas wins the final game they will be equal for points but Dallas will be one win shy of Chicago.

First tiebreaker is wins in regulation..OT & shootout wins dont count...this would still have them tied. Second tiebreaker this year is points in games between the tied teams and I think Dallas has the edge here. I would have to go back through the schedule and check but that is the only way it could still be up in the air.

chicago has to at least get one point tomorrow, but if they outright lose and dallas outright win
dallas will be in and chicago out

Well, I guess any doubts anyone has about the Canucks should be put to sleep after tonights game. It's only a good team that come from behind 2 goals down and win the game. All they have to do now is win 16 games, should be piece of cake.

what a goofy game tonight, good first period for both teams, poor second for canucks, good 3rd
for canucks, and the OT win, was an entertaining game for a 'nothing' game for both teams, which
is good, as the paying fans came to see a hockey game, and there was a pretty good one.

sedins didn't play at all till the third period, then turned it on, guess all the physical and
emotional stuff got them riled up, because all of a sudden they woke up, and that was it for
calgary, 'bye bye charlie'.

big scare when kesler hurt his knee, went to the dressingroom, came back good as new, maybe
he put on a spare one. lol

schneider played awsome, guess he and luongo have sewed up the jennings trophy

good for burrows 'not' to answer the invitation from iginla to fight, they can save it for next
season, when canucks aren't going into the playoffs.

thanks to my canucks for a great regular season, the best i've seen them play since l970, but thats over now, so lets get on with those
playoffs. they still don't know what team they will be playing, that makes tomorrow a rather
interesting day of hockey.

Thank god they did wake up. They can't be doing this in the playoffs though or we might be in some trouble

I believe you are right. thats the Jennings and the Art Ross. should have a shot at the Hart, the Vezina, and maybe the Jack Adams (coach)

Yeah, that was cool, but I still don't get why Burrows got a penalty there.

The officiating was horrible again tonight. That spear was worth 5 and then 2 Calgary players were reaching over the boards at Lapierre and should have got misconducts, that is a big no-no and I can't believe the refs let it go. We had an incident like that in my league this year and the guy got 2/10 & a game misconduct as well as 3 games from the league.

thanks to my canucks for a great regular season, the best i've seen them play since l970
I second that!!
