well, where do we begin.
canucks had no legs in first period, (lead legs), quite common on the second game
of a back to back, anaheim was the same tonight in the first period with calgary.
we took all kinds of stupid penalties.
they started the wrong goalie, but sanford does have back issues and they didn't
want to play him back to back, but cory schneider was not up to the task, at all.
When sanford came in the game settled down, and the canucks were skating
better and had found their legs by then.
I missed the two quick goals starting the second period, but sanford made many
very good stops after that, and the game just went along without much intensity
after that, san jose didn't need any more goals, so they played solid defense, and
that team has 'no' weak areas anywhere.
canucks just hung in there and played out the game, probably couldnt' wait for
it to end.
We will play them better next time, when the team is 'fresh', and not tired.
It's too bad the nhl can't do something about teams playing back to back, it is
very hard on the body, the muscles need at least 48 hours after a game to return
to normal, for everyone, and to add to it, they had to travel as well.
Calgary beat anaheim tonight, so now they are ahead of us by 'one' again.
San Jose also have 3 good players injured who were not playing, and when they
return, they will be 'even' stronger.
San Jose has had a very very good team for a few years now, but 'choked' in
the playoffs, now they have improved their defence and added a better coach,
so it will be interesting to see how they do in playoffs this season.
Detroit gave them a thrashing last week.
