Great game tonight, they came out on the short end, but played well enough to
win. Now we can forget the poor effort of last night, and build off of this one
tonight. Luongo will be back this coming week sometime, and that is good.
Sanford let in one very weak goal, which made the difference, so he could possibly
have done himself in, as la barbera might step into his place when luongo returns,
although they will have to keep both of them for awhile, and make sure luongo
is going to stay healthy.
Sundin looked better again tonight, and he will be much better in the near future.
He is still protecting himself with his skating, looks a little stiff, but isn't letting
himself stretch out those legs too much yet, a groin injury would probably end his career, so he certainly doesn't want that to happen. His skating will
smooth out over time. He isn't a great skater anyway, but good enough to be
in the hall of fame in the future.
We play New Jersey on Tuesday at home.

GO CANUCKS GO

I would take a positive in the fact that Luongo is back. He missed a lot of time, so it was expected that he would be a little rusty. I am pretty sure that he will be much better the next game.

Yeah, I guess. I'm just concerned cuz from what I've seen so far, our best can't be the likes of San Jose and Detroit.

These guys gotta get a fire lit under their arses or something!

Their offense was their downfall more than anything tonight. Against Phoenix, they should have gotten more than 1 goal. They were playing better before the whole Sundin saga started a few weeks ago. Do you, as a Vancouver fan, feel there is any merit to that?

Ya know, I think it has had some effect, how can it not? The real question is, can these guys really pull together as a team? I mean really click.

I truly believe one of the major problems for these guys is the media. They should piss off. Ask a few questions once and awhile during the reg season, and maybe after big playoff games. But not constantly, asking them stupid questions about trade rumours, and team chemistry.

True, but all the teams have to go through the same thing.

Yeah, but Boston has won two World Series since 2004. I think their curse is long gone.;-)

Oh yeah, its definitely gone. Its just weird that some dude apparently cursed the franchise, and then after eternity, they finally win, on a full moon none the less.

The cup was won by Vancouver once, by the Vancouver Millionaires, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayy back, like a million years ago. Yet, no urban story/myth about a curse.

Perhaps if you do enough digging, you'll find one. That is your task for the evening.;-):p

I already have a task for this evening: Sit here and chat with you guys, building my Rep pt thread, so that my main suspect has a chance to see it. ;-)

And who is your suspect? You can tell me, I just won't tell you if you are right or wrong(you can send it via PM).:p

Mats Sundin is not the problem here. We are lucky to have him, he is improving
steadily, I don't worry about him, and I will wait for him to get in game shape.

Luongo played OK, but needs a couple of games to get sharp again,
and the team must support him much better.

Canucks are gripping their sticks too tight, over thinking everything, have lost their
confidence, and they need to have a couple of 'fun' practices, let their bodies play
and give their brains a rest for a while. We know they can play much better, so
now they have to fight their way back.

If I was the manager I would take Taylor Pyatt off the team, trade him, or
anything, I'm sure their are players in manitoba who are must faster and will
accomplish much more.

The others who are struggling, can do better, and will again, and those who
don't, will take their turns in the press box.
Vineault's post game interview was interesting, as he seems to completely
understand the problem this team has right now, and they are going to work
with them to help them out of their troubles.

That's our shadow!!!

You do realize I was referencing the Cyndi Lauper song "Girls Just Want To Have Fun", right?;-)

Wellwood had a really strong start, but he has cooled off recently. Daniel Sedin keeps on racking up the goals. He got number 22 tonight.

Calgary beat San Jose tonight 3-2. They are playing very well right now, but they struggled at the start of the season. Vancouver just needs to take heart, and figure that if it can happen to Calgary it can happen to them. Calgary should give Kiprusoff a game off once in a while otherwise he will probably get burned out(I think he has only not played in 2 games all season so far).

It is a long season, and most teams will have good stretches and some not
so good. Calgary started the season weak, took them quite awhile to find
their game, we did the opposite and now we are struggling, and other teams
have done similar things, that is the nature of the game, hope it doesn't
take them too long to start winning again.
Luongo will most likely play every game now with the exception of back to
back, then la barbera might get one game.
Yeah, I wonder about Kiprusoff, maybe he needs a break every 10 games or so.
