I was in a sport chat tonight with several NYR fans and we are still steaming about the linesman's actions. None of us are buying the NHL's story on this one at all.

these have always been the rules, for years and years, and yes, he made contact with the official, while the
official was trying to lead him away from the problem area, the officials have to physically guide them
away from trouble, if they didn't, there would be nothing but constant group battles.
what he did is not tolerated now, and never has been.

l.a./chicago, in l.a. at 5 p.m. pac. time.

this is a hugely important game in this series, a win here by l.a. can really
put chicago in a bad spot, will be interesting.

sharp for chicago hasn't got himself going yet, a great player who has hit the wall a bit, maybe
tonight, he will break out, and also kane is on a line where there hasn't been good chemistry,
so perhaps quenville will change things about.

also gaborik and kopitar haven't done much in this series, so if they get going that will be
a huge boost for l.a.

will be fun

shaw is also returning from injury for chicago, and that will balance their lines
a bit better, and he is a gritty force for them, and a good player.

Yeah, I'm sort of hoping for L.A. for this round.

ok, this game is over, and i see chicago in trouble. l.a. has risen to the occasion, and the
line they are calling the 70s line is blooming and looking as good as any top line i've seen
in hockey this year.

the carter line is just flying.

also l.a. can play defense so well, they have been the 2nd best defensive team in the nhl this year.

once they got ahead in the game, they turned up their defense, they hit harder, they are bigger, And
chicago could not find an answer for any of it.

toews started off for chicago scoring two goals and tried to lead his team to a win, but the team
just could not reply to what l.a. was dishing out.

unless chicago starts scoring big goals from more of their top players, they will not win this
series, because they do not have the size or toughness to match l.a. player for player.

game 4 next in l.a.

i don't really care what team wins the series, i just want the 'best' team to win, the team that is
at the top of their game, who can go on to fight for the stanley cup, and keep it in the west.

habs/rangers at 5 today, pacific time.

if habs win this one, its game on. they had no business winning the last one, but that
young goalie did it for them, no differently than price might have.

rangers are playing well, lunquist at the top of his game along with the rest of the team, they
must score a few goals along with their fine play.

congratulations to the 'edmonton oil kings' winners of the memorial cup today. the western hockey

league was very strong, portland was beat out by edmonton to allow them into the memorial cup

tournament. it was kind of funny to listen to all of the announcers, back there, who were

expecting the 'guelph storm' to automatically clean up in the last game, but wait!!!!!! the game

must be played, and the oil kings, who were obviously to me, the better coached team, because of

their 200ft. play, offense and defense, came out the victors.

the cup is in the west, where it belongs.

i'm quite happy about the outcome of this game, as i wasn't happy at all with some of the calls

against the rangers.

i also think of therrien as a bit of a jack-*ss from his remarks concerning vigneault, so that is
another reason i'm happy about the outcome.

rangers now have montreal in an elimination position for next game in montreal, so it will be fun
to see just how that one plays out.

I was cursing up a storm in my sports chat room this evening over all those stupid referee calls against the Rangers. Thankfully they overcame them and won.

WHEW!

some were deserved, my opinion is that about 1/2 were not, and actually the officials let two possible
calls go toward the end of the game, and its a good thing they did, as they were beginning to look
like idiots, making it so obvious, even if they weren't doing it intentionally, they were doing it
subconsciously, which is just as bad, just means it is on their mind, saw a few non calls which
should have gone montreals way.

to their credit, the Montreal fans in our chat room were good sportsmen and said that, yes, the Habs did get more than their share of calls in their favor not only in this game but in the others as well - sure are a friendly and sporting bunch

i'm glad to hear that, those are fans who see a game clearly and not with 100% bias,
as many do.

i see teams change drastically as they play thru the playoffs, often starting off with less confidence
in themselves, but build that as they continue on, and confidence is a crucial ingredient of success.

the actual talent of the majority of players isn't much different than each other, although a big
difference can be seen by just 'what players play with other players'. hence 'chemistry', which can
become very creative on the ice.

all of the teams have desire, gumption, character, talent, and the will to win, or they wouldn't be in
the nhl to begin with, and that includes the coaches.

injuries can affect play, although that also gives others the opportunity to step up and be noticed.

teams can feel their way around in the playoffs, and find their game, or not. i see the rangers improving
from the pittsburg series, which wasn't a very good series by 'either' team, but the rangers built a lot
of confidence in that series, and realized that they were the better team, even though pittsburg had the
superstars, so to speak.

some say the death of st. louis's mother created success for the rangers, but i say they continued to play
better and better in spite of that tragedy, as they could have stumbled badly, but 'he' didn't stumble,
he stayed strong, to keep the team strong, so that they could make their way thru that sad time, and
continue on, which they are still doing, and also lunquist saved the day in some games, when they were
badly outshot, but still survived, he is such a force, along with their very good defense.

if this series is won by any more 'overtime' games, it will just be a toss up, who will win, in overtime
anything can happen, so it is a crap shoot, and doesn't really matter which team is considered the better,
overtime games can decide a series, even though the 'other' team is obviously the stronger in that series.

rangers have shown to be the better team, they are faster, bigger and more fiesty, but that doesn't always
decide which one will be the winners, and if the weaker team come out the winners, then it is more
likely that the western winner will win the cup, because neither one of those teams appears to have any
weaknesses, although l.a. are the tougher of the two, and will probably survive to win the west.

i'm having fun with this playoff series, my team is not here, so i can watch everyone from a different
vantage point, and without any emotional input, just because i want a certain team to win, but that
will happen in the finals, i will be loudly cheering for the west.

well, we can forget about barry trotz possibly becoming canucks next head coach, as he just signed

as coach for washington capitals.

i'm kind of glad, cause the name trotz and torts is just to similar, although the two people are not
anything alike, i just don't want any reminders of last season, lets move on, and not look back.

and juan, while we're on the subject, what is your opinion on rangers derek stepen,
out of the game with a broken jaw from the suspendable hit from a hab player.
much worse body check than any hit from any ranger on montreal's goalies. those
goalie crashes have been happening all year on all teams, seem to be part of
the accepted play by the nhl, and if you watch rick nash play, the puck was
lying there 'LOOSE' and he has just as much right to that puck as the goalie, so
he went after it, with the montreal player right on his back.
