"All those stupid calls against the Rangers".? Hell, there could have been a few more.
They tried several times to take out another goaltender.

juan - most of the Habs fans in our chat room agreed that it was the defender's last second shot that forced Kreider into the goalie

well l.a. did it again, 5-2 over chicago. l.a. was absolutely awsome in the first period, i've
not seen them play better ever, it was 3-0 for l.a. end of first period.

they got to 4-0, then settled back a bit to defend their lead, and relax their play a bit, no
need to score more, or push that hard when not necessary, but then chicago scored 1, then it
became 4-2, so one could see l.a. begin to ramp up their game again, chicago pulled their
goalie with over 3 minutes left. l.a. could have scored more, but kept missing the empty
net, until they scored their 5th goal to seal the deal.

they now have chicago in same position that rangers have the habs, on the brink of elimination.

so tomorrow we'll see if habs can bounce back and keep it going, or not.

Now there's a hockey game. It doesn't get much better than that! Shades of Darryl Sittler days!

argh - terribly depressing game for NYR fans tonight

onto game 6 ....

My heart bleeds for them.-:) Especially after that little outburst after the game was over. Between that and that bit of muggery half way through the 3rd period, they should be two guys short come next game.

well, mebbe we'll puncture some holes in the wheels of the Habs bus on the way to NYC and they will be so late that the league calls the game a forfeit win for the Blues

Simply outstanding hockey, JLM. Those Habs.......they sure know how to entertain us even when they are being their own worst enemy. Those stupid penalties - urghh! I guess they like doing things the hard way, eh.

I heard that Tokarski has all ready signed his new contract.........should have waited as his stock has gone waaaay up now. What a guy......what a goalie. Carey must be so happy to see his replacement doing so well.......heard he skated today.

NY, give them credit made it a great game. What a great feeling it was to see the King leaving the ice while the youngster stayed in goal.

Rock on Montreal!

didn't see all of the game tonight, bits and pieces, lots of goals, and lots of mistakes on both

sides.

lots of emotion and passion for both teams. i don't have a side so i won't whine about anything, i'll
leave that to each sides fans.
the one hit that brought the 5 minute major will probably be suspendable, it was high.

another game to see, more enjoyment, whomever wins, i don't care.

l.a./chicago tomorrow will be a wild game, as chicago is on the brink, and after seeing what l.a. did to them
last night, just can't imagine chicago coming back, but one never knows.

does anyone here watch the western conference games, or are you all east.

last nights tsn broadcast was the last hockey broadcast for them, it is sad,
they are the best, must better than anything on cbc. they said their farewells,
and off they went, it was sad.

what does darryl sittler have to do with this game, he played for toronto.

I'm watching both conference finals talloola and will be tuning in for the game tonight. No oar in the WC, just hoping for a good play-off game.

As for TSN's hockey broadcasts, I do like James Duthie and the panel but also enjoy Ron Maclean and his crew so don't really mind that CBC will be carrying the final games. I am very glad though that TSN will still be doing the CFL games as I simply can't imagine CBC coming anywhere close to the excellent broadcasts of TSN football.

I think NYR will win their game 6 but it won't be without pressure. Maybe that's what they missed last night. It seems winning the fourth game is often the hardest, when the other team has their back to the wall. Vignault is pretty good at regrouping his team with a well thought out game plan. And if Lundquist is on his game, which I suspect he will be, this one might be the toughest game for Montreal this post season. While I think Tokarski has been pretty good he hasn't been a game changer. He will need to be next game if they plan to play game 7.

The Habs have shown to be a pretty tenacious group. What they lack in size they make up for in hard work. When a game flows the way they want it to they are a formidable challenge to anyone. The winner of game 6 will be who wins the small battles, especially those behind the goal lines. Montreal feeds their momentum by out working opponents on the forecheck. Yet, Vignault's teams can be pretty good at boxing out pressure in front of the net and moving the puck out of harm's way from behind it. It will be interesting to see who wins the chess match.

When the Rangers scored that goal which tied the game at four, I honestly thought they would get another few goals to complete a come back rout of the Habs. Somehow the Canadiens found another bit of energy and stuffed in another couple goals. The Rangers took a few stupid penalties, one that cost them a five minute major. Vignault, I thought pulled their goaltender a bit early and it cost them another goal. It was a tough game for both teams. I don't know if the Habs will have enough left for the sixth game.....We'll see.....

I've already made up my mind the Habs have won game 6. The best player on the ice is P.K. Subban. Just wish he would know when it's time to take a rest - 13/4 minutes shifts are ridiculous!

I wonder why Subban is not the captain. He seems to be a born leader and he skates miles.

yeah james duthie is a gem, and ray ferraro in my opinion is the best sports analyst in the game. i was
hoping that somehow, he would end up in the canuck organization, but not sure where he would fit, of course
he could learn to be anything he wanted in the game, but right now he is very green, but i do know he would
love to be part of the organization, as he said that 'he would certainly listen' if they contacted him, i
would love to have his airmiles account, as he lives on planes.
i have long since become tired of ron mclean, his antics, by stepping out of his boundaries of knowledge,
and sticking his nose in where it doesn't belong, has finished me with him, and i'm very glad that when
rogers takes over he will be gone, and i hope he takes coaches corner with him, enough is enough.
bob mckenzie is also tops in sports analyzing, but he has stated that he isn't many years short of retirement, and seems he is looking forward to 'that cottage' on the lake life.

i'm very glad that rogers sportsnet will take over all of hockey in canada, and cbc will be 'long gone', in
that catagorie.

i'm hoping that they get rid of the 'buffoonery of cherry' and bring canada's hockey broadcasts into the
present, more sofisticated and modern, don't need the cartoon type stuff, it has become embArrassing.

if 'both' teams play their very best, rangers should come out on top, great goalkeeping, 'better' defense,
and they are faster, but of course that doesn't include 'lucky bounces', which are a big pArt of the game,
and can determine an outcome, then if game comes to overtime, any team can win, doesn't matter any more
about the history of the game.

subban is very young, and he is also attracts the attention of the opposition 'fans', which does put more
pressure on him, not fair, but it does happen, and he is a player who demands a big part in the game.

personally, if i were coach, i would 'not' give him the captaincy, as i would put that responsibility onto
a different player, and just let subban play the game.
sure he is a dynamic player, but that doesn't automatically cry captain, a captain
in my mind, is a more mature, less emotional player, who is very intelligent, eg.
henrik sedin. a similar comparison could be kesler compared to henrik, similar,
not the same, just to make my point.
